Effect of Body Weight in Growing Period on Laying Performance of Korean Native Chicken Breeders (토종 종계 육성기 체중이 산란 능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was to investigate the relationship between chick weight in the growing period and the laying performance of Korean native chicken (KNC) breeders. We measured the body weights of 1,384 KNC breeders at 1-140 days of age at two-week intervals. The age at first egg laying, hen-day and hen-housed egg production, and the egg weights were investigated. Correlation coefficients between the body weight and egg production traits were analyzed. The results showed that the correlation coefficients between body weight and age at first egg laying were significantly positive before 4 weeks, but negative after 8 weeks of age. The correlation coefficients between body weight and egg production rate were estimated to be negative before 8 weeks and positive after 12 weeks of age. Coefficients of hen-day and hen-housed egg production were similar. There was little correlation between body weight and egg weight at 32 weeks of age, whereas a low positive correlation was with egg weight at 50 weeks. In conclusion, there was little correlation between body weight and laying performance before 8 weeks of age, whereas a significant positive correlation was with body weight after 12 weeks. The results suggest that as the chick's weight increases in the late growing stage, sexual maturity is faster, the egg production rate is higher, and the egg weight increases. Therefore, the weight management of KNC female breeders is very important in the late growing stage, and the body weight of chicks must be maintained above the standard weight.

육용종계의 육추.육성시 영양수준이 산란성적에 미치는 영향

  • 본 연구는 육용종계의 육추·육성시의 체중조절 방법과 사료급여방법이 산란기 생성에 미치는 영향을 구명하여 육용종계의 생산성 향상 방안을 설정하기 위하여 수행하였다. 시험 I. 육성기의 체중조절 모형별이 산란기의 생산성에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 64주 동안 수행하였는데, 24주 동안의 사료섭취량은 T3구(12주령까지 체중을 10% 억제하였다가 점차 증체시켜 20주령에 목표체중에 도달시키는 체중조절방법)가 T1구(12주령까지 체중을 10% 증가시킨 후 증체를 억제하여 20주령 목표체중에 도달시키는 체중조절방법)에 비하여 수당 55g을 적제 섭취하였으며, 초산일령은 다른 조절방법에 비하여 0.3∼1.0일 지연되었다. 그리고 총산란율은 T3구가 다른 시험구보다 1.9∼2.2% 향상되었으며, 기형란율은 0.56∼0.62% 적게 발생하였고, 성계생존율은 T3구가 2.6∼3.8% 높았다. 또한 초생추 생산수수는 T3구가 다른 시험구에 비하여 11.0∼12.1수를 더 많이 생산하였다.

육성기의 체중과 체형관리 균일성의 중요성

  • 산란계 사육에 있어 최대의 관심사는 뭐니뭐니 해도 산란율로 귀착된다. 육성계의 사양관리나 점등관리, 질병관리 등의 모든 것이 결국은 산란을 시키기 위한 준비이며, 훌륭한 산란계로 육성시키지 못하면 그동안의 숱한 노력이나 막대한 경비를 회수할 수 없게 된다. 따라서 무엇보다도 육성기의 사양관리가 채란업의 성패를 좌우하게 된다. 육성기의 사양관리에는 여러가지 고려되어야 할 중요한 점이 있지만, 그중에서도 체중과 정강이 길이 및 균일성은 그 계군의 능력발휘에 있어 가장 중요한 요소이므로 중점적으로 논의해 보도록 한다.

Effects of Hatch and Sex on Body Weight and Shank Length of Growing Pheasant (육성기 꿩의 주령별 체중과 정강이 길이의 측정치에 나타나는 부화차순과 성별의 효과)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of hatch and sex on the body weight and shank length of growing pheasant. Least squares means of body weight at the age of 0, 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 wks were 17.9, 96.0, 296.4, 563.4, 709.0 and 757.4 g for female, and 18.3, 104.4, 349.1, 728.5, 1001.4 and 1101.6 g for male, respectively. The hatch effect on body weight was significant at the age of 4, 8, 12 and 16 wks (P<0.05), but the effects on shank length were significant at the age of birth and 8 wks only. There was no significant hatch effect on both the body weight and shank length at the age of 20 wks(P>0.05). Least squares mean differences between female and male were significant(P<0.01) over all wks of age except at hatch.

  • 눈으로만 보는 관리에서 실제 수치를 적용시키는 보다 과학적인 관리가 전문가들에 의해서 주장 되어 오고 있다. 즉 육성기에 있는 닭들의 체중을 정기적으로 자주 측정하여 이 측정치를 체계적으로 분석 검토하므로서 흔히 발생하는 문제점들을 미연에 방지할 수 있도록 관리 방법을 신속히 수정하자는 것이다.

Effects of Body Weight Control Methods during Rearing Phase on Laying Performance in Broiler Breeder Pullets (육용종계 육성기 체중조절 방법이 산란기 생산성에 미치는 영향)

  • A study was conducted to investigate the effects of different BW control methods during rearing on laying performance of broiler breeder pullets. D-old 540 female breeder chicks (Arbor Acres) were assigned to three treatments consisted of standard BW (Control), 110% of standard BW at 12 wk of age (T1), and 90% of standard BW at 12 wk of age (T2), with three replicates of 60 birds per replicate (pen) for each treatment. At 20 wk of age, all birds from three treatments reached the BW reqired in the Arbor Acres Manual. There were no significant differences in egg production, egg weight and viability during laying period(p>0.05). However, total egg production rates were improved in T2 and T3. Average egg weight was the highest in T1 among all treatments. Fertility and hatchability were similar among treatments, but T2 tended to be higher than other treatments at 37 and 53 wk of age. No significant difference was found in hatchability among three treatments. The number of hatching egg of T2 reached 168 per year, showing higher number of eggs than did the other treatments. The number of hatched chicks in T2 was 131, which was also higher than the other treatments, but the difference was not significant. It appears that the laying performance of broiler breeder hens could be improved when their BW at 12 wk of age are kept at 90% of standard BW, and reach the standard BW at 20 week of age.
