Prediction of the Flight Times of Hydrochara affinis and Sternolophus rufipes in Paddy Fields Based on RCP 8.5 Scenario (RCP 8.5 기후변화 시나리오를 적용한 논 서식 애물땡땡이 (Sternolophus rufipes)와 잔물땡땡이(Hydrochara affinis)의 비행시기 예측)

  • The total area of paddy field was estimated to be 55 % of the cultivated lands in South Korea, which is approximately 1 million hectares. Organisms inhabiting paddy fields if they are sensitive to environmental changes can be environmental indicator of paddy fields. Biological indicators such as phenology and distributional range are evaluated as intuitive and quantitative method to analyze the impact of climate change. This study aims to estimate flight time change of Hydrophilidae species' based on the RCP 8.5 climate change scenario. Unmanned monitoring systems were installed in Haenam, Buan, Dangjin and Cheorwon relative to the latitudinal gradient. In the three regions excepting Cheorwon, it was able to measure the abundance of flying Hydrochara affinis and Sternolophus rufipes. Degree-day for the flight time was determined based either on field measurement values and estimates of 2020s, 2050s and 2080s from KMA climate change scenario data. As a result, it is found that date of both species of initial flight becomes 15 days earlier, that of peak flight becomes 22 days earlier and that of final flight does 27 days earlier in 2080s compared to 2020s. The climate change impact on flight time is greater in coastal area, rural area and valley than inland area, urban area and plan. H. affinis and S. rufipes can be used as climate change indicator species.

  • Vortical etching experiments of ($SrBi_2Ta_2O_9$)/Si thin films have been performed by using the inductively coupled plasma reactive ion etching (ICP-ME) apparatus. The purposes of these experiments are to get the effective area of vertical surface. Because this technology is very important to get good qualities of ferroelectric gate structure, capacitor and the minimum parasitic effects related to the excellent performances of the FRAM (Ferroelectric Random Access Memory) device. The reacting gases were Ar and $Cl_2$gases, and various $Ar/C1_2$flow ratios were used. The etching experiments were carried out at various RF powers such as 700, 700, 500W and at various DC powers such as 200, 150, 100, 50W, respectively. The maximum etch rate of $SrBi_2Ta_2O_9$/Si thin films was 1050 A/min at the $Ar/C1_2$ gas ratio of 20/16, RF power of 700 W and DC power of 200 W. From the SEM (scanning electron microscopy) image of the SBT thin films, the wall angle was as good as about $82^{\circ}$.

  • 호소의 수질오염 문제를 해결하기 위해선 우선 소하천에서 강우유출에 의한 비점오염물질이 어디서 얼마나 발생하는지에 대한 정량적인 조사가 필요하다. 그러나 유역의 오염원에 대한 정량적인 조사가 이루어지려면 많은 비용과 시간 그리고 노력이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대청호 상류유역의 소하천인 안내천을 대상으로 강우유출수 조사를 실시하고, 높은 예측 정확성 때문에 세계적으로 널리 쓰이고 있는 Long-Term Hydrologic Impact Assessment(L-THIA)을 이용하여 실측데이터와 L-THIA 모델의 결과를 비교하였다. 안내천의 유역면적은 16.5 $km^2$로 유역의 약 69.5%가 산림, 농업 및 초지지역이 25.3% 그리고 주거지역이 2.6%로 조사되었다. 수질분석을 위하여 자동수질시료채취기(ISCO sampler 6712)를 설치하여 시간단위의 시료를 채취한 뒤 수질농도를 측정하였다. 수질항목은 유기물질인 $BOD_5$, TOC, T-N, T-P 항목에 대하여 수질오염 공정시험법으로 분석하였다. WHAT 시스템을 이용하여 분리된 직접유출량은 315.5~161,835.1 $m^3$의 범위로 나타났다. 직접유출량을 이용하여 산정한 유역의 EMC 농도는 안내천 유역의 $EMC_{BOD}$는 1.0~2.4 mg/L, $EMC_{TOC}$는 1.429~5.491 mg/L, $EMC_{COD}$는 2.2~10.2 mg/L, $EMC_{TN}$은 2.906~10.864 mg/L, $EMC_{TP}$는 0.029~0.285 mg/L의 범위를 보였다. 또한 실측된 유량과 농도를 이용하여 산정한 오염부하는 안내천 유역이 $BOD_5$ 37.9~390.9 g, $COD_{Mn}$ 0.8~1,657.5 g, TOC 0.54~791.83 g, T-N 0.968~1,758.174 g, T-P 0.011~42.139 g의 범위로 나타났다. L-THIA 모델을 이용하여 직접유출량의 산정된 결과와 실측 결과를 비교 분석한 결과 결정계수와 유효지수가 0.95와 0.93으로 높게 나타나 대청호 상류유역에서 발생하는 유출량을 모의하는데 적절할 것으로 판단된다. 토지이용도와 토양도 그리고 일 강우자료만으로 구축되는 L-THIA 모델을 이용하여 대청호 상류의 소하천 유역에 대하여 비점오염원 유출특성을 해석하는 것이 가능 할 것으로 판단된다.

Nutrient Use Strategy of Carpinus cordata Saplings Growing under Different Forest Stand Conditions (임분 조건이 다른 환경에서 하층식생으로 생육하는 까치박달(Carpinus cordata) 유목의 양분 이용 특성)

  • This study aimed to understand the nutrient absorption, usage and allocation of Carpinus cordata in different soil and light environments. Seasonal changes of foliar nitrogen, phosphorous, chlorophyll contents, leaf mass per area (LMA) and nutrient retranslocation rates were investigated for C. cordata saplings growing in a natural deciduous broadleaved forest and an Manchurian fir (Abies holophylla) plantation in Gwangneung, Kyunggido. The deciduous forest had lower leaf area, higher light penetration, and better soil fertility than the Manchurian fir forest. However, available soil phosphorous content in the deciduous forest was only one third of that in the Manchurian fir forest, which caused lower foliar phosphorous content and higher P retranslocation rate of C. cordata in the deciduous forest than that in the Mancurian fir forest. Soil nitrogen contents in the deciduous forest were higher than that in the Manchurian fir forest, however, no differences in foliar nitrogen content and retranslocation rate in C. cordata between the two stands were found. C. cordata in the Manchurian fir forest with high LAI throughout a year, had lower LMA, foliar nitrogen content and chlorophyll a/b, while had higher total chlorophyll content and chlorophyll/N than that in the deciduous forest. These results implied C. cordata under different environments are using different strategies for nutrient use and allocations.

Evaluation on Effectiveness for Preventing Post Surgical Adhesion of Sodium Hyaluronate/Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (HA/CMC) Membrane in Rat Cecum/Peritonium Model (쥐 맹장/복벽 찰과상 모델에서 Sodium Hyaluronate/sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose 멤브레인의 수술 후 유착방지에 대한 유효성 평가)

  • We prepared an anti-adhesion membrane made of sodium hyaluronate/sodium carboxymethylcellulose (HA/CMC) and evaluated its effectiveness for adhesion prevention in a rat model. The anti-adhesion membrane was prepared by lyophilizing HA/CMC solution and cross-linking properly with 1-Ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide (EDAC). In a cecum/abdominal wall abrasion model of Sprague-Dawley rat, cecal serosa and abdominal wall were abraded in $1\times2\;(cm^2)$ with a bone burr after peritoneal midline incision and sutured at 3 points around the injured surface. The denuded cecum was covered with HA/CMC membrane (experimental group), or nothing (control group) and apposed to the abdominal wall. Most of the control group represented 3 or more of adhesion grade at POD 7, 14, 21, and 28, whereas $60\~70\%$ of the experimental group was 2 or less of adhesion grade at 14, 21, and 28. It was similar in the adhesion strength. In a general manner, the adhesion grade and strength showed gradual increasing until POD 14, almost same or a little increasing POD 21, but decreasing POD 28. Also the control group was much higher in adhesion grade, strength, and area than the experimental group. It is expected that the anti-adhesion membrane will have a good clinical result in postoperative adhesion prevention.

Robust Vision Based Algorithm for Accident Detection of Crossroad (교차로 사고감지를 위한 강건한 비젼기반 알고리즘)

  • The purpose of this study is to produce a better way to detect crossroad accidents, which involves an efficient method to produce background images in consideration of object movement and preserve/demonstrate the candidate accident region. One of the prior studies proposed an employment of traffic signal interval within crossroad to detect accidents on crossroad, but it may cause a failure to detect unwanted accidents if any object is covered on an accident site. This study adopted inverse perspective mapping to control the scale of object, and proposed different ways such as producing robust background images enough to resist surrounding noise, generating candidate accident regions through information on object movement, and by using edge information to preserve and delete the candidate accident region. In order to measure the performance of proposed algorithm, a variety of traffic images were saved and used for experiment (e.g. recorded images on rush hours via DVR installed on crossroad, different accident images recorded in day and night rainy days, and recorded images including surrounding noise of lighting and shades). As a result, it was found that there were all 20 experiment cases of accident detected and actual effective rate of accident detection amounted to 76.9% on average. In addition, the image processing rate ranged from 10~14 frame/sec depending on the area of detection region. Thus, it is concluded that there will be no problem in real-time image processing.

The Usage Status of Pesticides for Vegetables under Greenhouse Cultivation in the Southern Area of Korea (남부지역 시설채소 재배 농가의 농약 사용실태)

  • This study was undertaken to survey the pesticides used under the greenhouse cultivation of 9 vegetable crops including cucumber, tomato, strawberry, eggplant, hot pepper, paprika, lettuce, perilla leaves and green onion in the Southern area during the period of 2003-2004. The total number of farmers investigated was 202 which consisted of 124 conventional growers and 78 environment-friendly growers. The farmers were requested to record with respect to the crop's name, cultivation acreage, growing practices (conventional/environment-friendly), use purpose, pesticide kinds, usage quantity and application time of pesticides. The average usage quantity of pesticides for the 9 crops was 3.30 kg ai/ha in conventional growing and 0.47 kg ai/ha in environment-friendly growing. The average application time of pesticides was 11 times in conventional and 2 times in environment-friendly growing, with more than 90% cases as a foliar application. The number of active ingredients of pesticides was 34 in conventional and 10 in environment-friendly growing on the average per crop. The purpose of pesticide application was as a fungicide in 56% cases and as an insecticide in 43% cases.

ICT based Wireless Power Transmission System Development (ICT 기반의 무선전력전송 시스템 개발)

  • Recently, wireless power transmission has attracted much interest and is the subject of much research in industry and academia. As its name implies, it is a technology which involves transferring power without wires. This paper presents the design of an ICT-based wireless power transmission system. The proposed system consists of a wireless transceiver unit and high-efficiency coil unit, which can increase both the transmission efficiency and the effective power distance. In particular, the wireless transceiver unit was designed to work with the ICT technique to enable real-time remote monitoring. Also, studies were done relating to the effect of reducing the standby power. The optimal frequency of IGBT devices used in industrial wireless power systems of 20[KHz] was utilized. The values of $23.9[{\mu}H]$ and $2.64[{\mu}F]$ were selected for L and C, respectively, through many field experiments designed to optimize the system design. In addition, an output current controlling algorithm was developed for the purpose of reducing the standby power. The results presented in this paper represent a 75[%] to 85[%] higher power transmission efficiency with a 10[%] increase in the effective power transmission distance compared with the existing systems. As a result, the proposed system exhibits a lower standby power and maintenance costs. Also, the designed wireless transceiver unit facilitates fault detection by means of user acquired data with the development of the ICT applied program.

Flood Discharge Estimation with Consideration of Uncertainty of Rainfall Spatial Distribution (강우공간분포의 불확실성을 고려한 홍수량 추정)

  • 홍수위험도 추정에 있어서 불확실성은 수리, 수문, 구조, 환경 및 사회경제적인 불확실성과 관련 있으며, 수리 수문학적 불확실성은 주로 수리 수문학적 현상과 그 과정에 대한 불완전한 지식, 그리고 그 과정에 포함된 매개변수들에 대한 불완전한 지식과 관련이 있다. 이러한 여러 가지 불확실성은 홍수위험도 추정에 있어서의 불확실성에 중요한 요인으로 작용하므로 불확실성을 설명하기 위한 통계적 정보는 신뢰성 있는 홍수위험도 추정에 있어서 선행조건이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 불확실성 요인중 강우의 공간분포에 대한 신뢰성 있는 추정은 수자원 해석 및 설계에 있어서 필수적인 요소이다. 강우장의 공간변동성에 대한 고해상도 추정은 홍수, 특히 돌발홍수의 원인이 되는 국지성 호우의 확인 및 분석에 있어서 중요하다. 또한 강우의 공간 변동성에 대한 고려는 면적평균강우량 추정의 정확도를 향상시키는데 있어서 중요하며, 강우-유출모델의 모의결과에 대한 신뢰도를 향상시키는데 큰 영향을 미친다. 최근 공간자료에 대한 공간분포예측에 있어서 공간상관성을 고려할 수 있는 공간통계학적 기법의 적용이 증가하고 있으며, 이러한 공간통계학적 기법의 적용에 있어서 신뢰성 있는 모델 매개변수의 추정 및 불확실성 평가는 공간분포 예측결과에 대한 신뢰성을 향상시키는데 중요한 역할을 한다. 외국의 경우 공간분포예측 및 모의, 매개변수의 불확실성 평가 등과 관련하여 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있는 반면 국내 수자원 분야에서는 아직까지 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있지 않은 실정이다. 국내의 수문설계실무에서와 같이 확률홍수량을 강우빈도분석과 강우-유출모델을 이용하여 추정할 경우 확률홍수량 추정에 있어서 확률강우량 및 공간분포에 대한 불확실성과 강우-유출모델에서의 불확실성이 확률홍수량 추정에서의 불확실성에 영향을 미치며, 이후 연피해기대치 추정과 같은 홍수위험도 추정의 불확실성에도 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 강우공간분포의 불확실성을 고려한 홍수량 추정을 위하여 공간추계모의 기법인 CEM을 적용하여 강우공간분포의 불확실성을 정량화하고 강우-유출모델의 입력 강우량에 대한 확률분포를 추정하였다. 강우-유출해석의 경우 유효우량 및 홍수수문곡선 산정을 위하여 국내 수자원 실무에서 가장 많이 적용되고 있는 NRCS CN 기법, Clark 및 Muskingum 모델을 적용하였다. 이로부터 강우공간분포의 불확실성 추정, 소유역별 입력 강우량에 대한 확률분포의 추정 및 재현기간별 확률홍수량의 불확실성 정량화 방안을 제시하였다. 이러한 결과들은 풍수해저감대책, 유역종합치수대책 등 각종 수자원 계획 및 설계실무에서 확률홍수량 및 홍수 또는 재해위험도 추정의 신뢰성을 향상시킬 수 있는 방법론적 대안으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Transmembrane Pressures with Respect to Backwashing and Sinusoidal Flux Continuous Operation Modes for the Submerged Hollow Fiber Membrane in the Activated Sludge Solution (활성슬러지 수용액 내 침지식 중공사막의 역세척 및 사인파형 연속투과 운전방식에 따른 막간차압)

  • In this study transmembrane pressure (TMP) was measured with respect to operational time by applying the sinusoidal flux continuous operation (SFCO) for the hollow fiber membrane. The hollow fiber module which has $100cm^2$ of effective area and $0.45{\mu}m$ nominal pore size was submerged in the activated sludge solution of MLSS 5,000 mg/L. The critical permeate flux was measured as $26.6L/m^2{\cdot}hr$ by the method of continuous flux step change. TMPs of the filtration/relaxation (FR), FR with backwashing (FR/BW) and SFCO modes were measured. The SFCO mode was more effective than FR and FR/BW modes below the critical permeate flux such as 15, 20 and $25L/m^2{\cdot}hr$. However, the FR/BW was confirmed as more effectively fouling controlled mode than SFCO mode above the critical permeate flux.
