A Basic Study on the District Cooling System of LNG Cold Thermal Energy (LNG 냉열 에너지의 지역 냉방 시스템에 관한 기반 연구)

  • This paper provides the possibility of the district cooling system by using a LNG cold thermal energy. A liquefied natural gas provides a plenty of cooling source energy during a gasification of a liquefied natural gas. In recent, an ice thermal storage system is used for cooling a building, and a deep water source cooling system has been introduced as a district cooling system in which is used to cool the office towers and other large buildings in old and new downtown. LNG cooling energy refers to the reuse of a large body of naturally cold fluids as a heat sink for process and comfort space cooling as an alternative of conventional, refrigerant based cooling systems. Coincident with significant clean energy and operating cost savings, LNG cold energy cooling system offers radical reductions in air-borne pollutants and the release of environmentally harmful refrigerants in comparison to the conventional air-conditioning system. This study provides useful information on the basic design concepts, environmental considerations and performance related to the application of LNG cold thermal energy.

A Study on the Sensor Module System for Real-Time Risk Environment Management (실시간 위험환경 관리를 위한 센서 모듈시스템 연구)

  • In this study, a portable detection system was developed that can detect harmful gas and signals simultaneously in an enclosed space of industrial sites and underground facilities. The developed system is a sensor module for gas detection, a patch type 1 channel small ECG sensor, a module for three-axial acceleration detection sensor, and a system for statistics. In order to verify the performance of the system modules, the digital resolution, signal frequency, output voltage, and ultra-small modules were evaluated. As a result of the performance of the developed system, the digital resolution was 300 (rps) and the signal amplification gain was 500 dB or more, and the ECG module was manufactured with $50mm{\times}10mm{\times}10mm$ to increase patch utilization. It is believed that the product of this research will be valuable if it is used as an IoT-based management system for real-time monitoring of industrial workers.

  • The adsorption of various atmospheric harmful gases (COx, NOx, SOx) on graphene-like Germanene 2D sheet was theoretically investigated using density functional theory(DFT) method. The structures were fully optimized at the B3LYP/cc-pvDZ and CAM-B3LYP/cc-pvDZ levels of theory and confirmed to be a local minimum by the calculation of the harmonic vibrational frequencies. The adsorptions of gases on the Germanene sheet were predicted to be a physisorption process for CO, CO2, NO, and SO2 gases but to be a chemisorption process for NO2, SO, and SO2 gases.

  • Increasing the needs for eco-friendly natural materials, much attention on natural dyes has been attracted. Curcumin, one of abundant natural dyes available in nature, is an eco-friendly molecule found in turmeric. In this study, the colorimetric sensing behavior characteristics of ammonia and hydrogen chloride gases was analyzed using curcumin ink-printed paper and cotton fabric by inkjet printing method. The fabricated paper and fabric were utilized as a colorimetric sensor that can track food spoilage. The color changes of the samples printed on the paper and cotton upon exposure to the toxic gases, the reversibility of the color changes, and the water resistance were investigated. Both samples showed reversible reactions with NH3 and HCl, and small amount of ammonia produced by food spoilage was successfully sensed with naked eyes, confirming its capability to warn food spoilage in our daily life.

  • Smoke composed of harmful gases such as carbon monocide and carbon dioxide is reconized as the major killer in fire situation. Especailly it is said that smoke movement is related to the panic phenomenon which threatens the life seriously. The purpose of this study is to investgate and analyse the reaction mechanism of harmful gas caused by fire effects on the human psychology and panic phenomenon.

  • 경유자동차는 연료 특성상 매연을 포함한 입자상물질을 다량 배출하고 있으며, 이러한 디젤입자상물질은 인체에 유해한 발암성 및 돌연변이원성 물질들을 함유하고 있기 때문에 호흡 등을 통한 인체 유입시 건강에 매우 유해하다. 그러므로 디젤입자상물질을 저감시키기 위한 여러 가지 기술들 중 발생된 배출가스가 배기관을 통해 대기중으로 배출되기 전에 엔진 연소실과 배기관 사이에 후처리장치와 같은 기술들을 이용하여 이를 저감시키고 있다. 본 연구에서는 후처리장치들 중 세라믹필터에 백금과 같은 산화성이 우수한 촉매를 코팅하여 만든 촉매식 매연여과장치(DPF ; diesel particulate filter, SK제공)를 사용하였을 때 입자저감성능 및 입자크기별 분포특성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 통해 도시대기오염 저감대책을 기초자료 및 환경학적, 보건학적 연구에 적극 활용하고자 한다.   • 최근들어 비금속광물의 구조적 특성을 이용한 활용분야가 매우 다양해지고 있다. 특히 판상광물은 차폐(은폐)력이 매우 우수하고, 층간특성을 이용한 흡착 및 저장특성이 매우 우수하다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 판상광물의 기본의 특성에 또 다른 기능성 물질을 흡착시킴으로써 부가적인 새로운 기능성을 갖는 친환경성 건축소재를 개발하고자 천연산 인상흑연 및 견운모를 기능성 모소재로 사용하고 미립화 및 표면 환경기능화를 위하여 BMK로 흑연입자 표면을 기능화하였다. 제조된 기능성 마감재인 닥터하우스를 모르타르에 도포하여 다양한 기능성을 측정한 결과 78% 이상의 유해가스(포름알데히드) 정화제거효과 및 99.9% 이상의 항균, 항곰팡이 효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Longitudinal distributions of the extinction coefficient and concentrations of hazardous gases in a long tunnel located in urban area haute been predicted theoretically. The results are compared with design criteria. It is found that the maximum concentrations of both CO and $NO_X$ in the tunnel are lower than the design criteria. However, the maximum extinction coefficient, generally considered to be a governing factor for ventilating flow rate, is shown lower than the design criterion. Therefore, it is suggested that the design criterion of the extinction coefficient should be increased to a slightly larger value.

  • 방사선을 이용한 그라프트 공중합은 고분자막이나 부직포, 합성수지 등 각 소재의 기본 성질은 손상되지 않으며 금속이온이나 유해가스 등의 흡착능을 갖는 기능성기의 도입이 가능한 방법으로 널리 사용되고 있다. 방사선을 이용한 섬유상 흡착포의 제조는 단량체와 섬유에 방사선을 동시에 조사하는 동시조사법과 진공상태 또는 질소 분위기 하에서 방사선을 조사하여 라디칼을 형성한 후 단량체와 접촉시켜 반응을 진행시키는 방법 그리고 공기 중에서 방사선을 조사하여 섬유상에 peroxide group 또는 hydroperoxide group을 생성시킨 후 이를 높은 온도에서 열분해 시켜 단량체와 그라프트 반을을 진행시키는 방법이 사용되고 있다.   • AQS(Air Quality Control System) is the important part of a car air conditioning system. This device intercepts automatically the influx of harmful waste gas. In this paper reliability assessment criteria for AQS are established in terms of quality certification test and lifetime test. The former quality certification test comprises general performance test and environmental test. Items which pass the test undergo lifetime test which guarantees the extent of mean lifetime with certain confidence.
