Effect of Fruit Coatings on the Marketable Quality in 'Tsugaru' Apples during Storage and Simulated Marketing (피막제(被膜劑)가 사과 '쓰가루' 과실(果實)의 저장(貯藏)과 유통중(流通中) 품질(品質)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • This study was aimed to extend the marketing period through the postharvest application of fruit coating materials in early cultivar 'Tsugaru' apples. Postharvest application of fruit coating materials were effective on remaining freshness during storage and marketing. Prestorage waxing showed higher flesh firmness and weight loss was greatly reduced after storage. This tendency was continued even after marketing period. While no clear effect of prestorage Prolong application on keeping freshness was found, poststorage application of Prolong appeared to be most effective on the prevention of weight loss and keeping firmness during marketing. Parts of fruit developed $CO_2$ injury - like disorder regardless posthavest treatments but no trial was conducted to examine this disorder in this study. Further study should include to determine the cause of this disorder.

  • Estimation of pressurant mass flowrate and its total mass required to maintain propellant tank pressure during propellant outflow is very important for design of pressurization control system and pressurant storage tank. Especially, more pressurant mass is required to maintain pressure in cryogenic propellant tank, because of reduced specific volume of pressurant due to heat transfer between pressurant and tank wall. So, basic model for propellant tank ullage calculation was proposed to estimate ullage and tank wall temperature distribution, required pressurant mass, and energy distribution of pressurant in ullage. Both test and theoretical analysis have been conducted, but only theoretical modeling method was addressed in this paper.

  • The various hazards should be eliminated before operations for the successful launches or tests. Using the contaminated propellants is one of the causes for the launch and test failures. Especially, the systems using liquid oxygen as an oxidizer have risks about fires and explosions not be forecasted if they are contaminated by oil, water and mechanical impurities. The procedure for the quality control of the liquid oxygen and the liquid oxygen filling system and the lessons learned from the first launch preparation with the system are introduced on this paper.

  • Three herbicides including nitrofen, alachlor and butachlor f?ere applied to farm soils of oil-bearing crops rape, soybean and paddy rice and their residual levels in the soil and seeds were determined by ECD-attached gas chromatograph without hydrolysis. Applied herbicides were decreased abruptly 2 weeks after application and slowly thereafter, reaching below 10% level while the extent of disappearance varied depending on the herbicides, crops and soil conditions. The herbicides were not detected at all in the seeds of tested crops within the detection limit of the analytical methods employed.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the stress distributions in the surrounding tissues of the teeth seated by indirect retainers in three different teeth of unilateral distal extension partial denture when the dislodging forces were applied on denture bases. Three dimensional photoelastic models were made. The teeth on which indirect retainers were seated were mandibular left lateral incisor (Model I), canine (Model II), and first premolar (Model III). The dislodging force with 860mg at $45^{\circ}$ angulation to occlusal plane was applied to each model. Three dimensional photoelastic stress analysis was done, and the records were diagramed and analysed. The results were as follows : The compressive stresses were shown the most on neck portions of buccal, mesial, and distal sides in all three models. Slight tensile stresses were shown on neck portions of lingual sides in all three models. The compressive stresses on buccal side were shown in strength in such order as model I, model II, and model III. The compressive stresses were shown on neck portion of mesial and distal sides of model I and mode II, with model I more than Model II. The compressive stresses were shown only on neck portion of mesial side on Model III. The general overall magnitude of compressive stresses were shown in strength in such order as Model I, Model II, and Model III.

Predictors of Intention to Work among People with Disabilities who Maintain Economic Inactivity (비경제활동 유지 장애인의 취업의사 예측변인 탐색)

  • This study identified predictors of intention to work among people with disabilities who maintain economic inactivity for two successive years by analyzing a total of 2,255 Participants in the 2014 data of the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (PSED) with through $X^2$, t test, logistic regression. To explore factors affecting intention to work among people with disabilities who maintain economic inactivity, this study hypothesized the effectiveness of variables of demographic, disability, human resources, psycho-social factors based on previous studies. The analysis showed that male, spouse-being, low income status out of demographic variables were related to high probability of having intention to work among people with disabilities who maintain economic inactivity. In case of disability variables, experiencing disability-related discrimination significantly predicted the probability of having intention to work. However, the relationship between disability-related discrimination experiences and high intention to work needs to be viewed as correlated rather than cause-and-effect.In addition, literacy related to computer use/English proficiency/interpersonal and adaptation skills(human resources), experiences of vocational rehabilitation services (human resources), self-esteem (psycho-social) significantly predicted the probability of having intention to work among people with disabilities who maintained economic inactivity. Based on these results, support services for females with disabilities, effective rehabilitation programs of improving literacy related to computer use/English proficiency/interpersonal and adaptation skills and self-esteem, general expansion of vocational rehabilitation services for people with disabilities are suggested.

  • 심도 냉동(급속 냉동 포함)식품과 특정 품질특성이 유지되는 기간이 18개월이 넘는 식품은 ''상미(best before)'' 또는 ''소비(use by)'' 기한을 표시하지 않아도 된다는 규정은 1996년에 폐지하도록 재정고시되었으나 시행은 유보되어 있다. 1999년 제53호 법률 공고에 따라 1999년 6월 1일부터 이 유보 조항을 시행하게 되었다. 따라서 심도 냉동 식품과 특정 품질특성이 유지되는 기간이 18개월이 넘는 식품에도 1999년 6월 1일부터는 상미기한 또는 소비기한을 관련 규정에 따라 표시되어야 하며 이를 위반하는 경우 $\$$50,000의 벌금과 6개월의 징역을 받게 된다.

  • CANDU에서 감속재온도제어기는 칼란드리아 출구에서의 감속재온도를 일정하게 유지하기 위한 제어 프로그램이다. 본 연구에서는 강속재온도제어 알고리즘의 성능을 분석하기 위하여 주감속재계통의 동특성모델식을 적용하여 모의실험을 수행하였다. Setback 모의실험에 대하여는 설정온도를 적절히 유지하였으나, Stepback 모의실험에 대하여는 설정온도를 크게 벗어나는 오버슈트를 나타내었다. 되먹임제어기의 PID 파라메타를 최적화하고, 정상상태모델에 근거하여 앞먹임제어기의 설계를 개선함으로써 Stepback 모의실험에서 나타난 오버슈트를 줄일 수 있었다.
