  • Diffraction anomalies in the periodic strip grating over a grounded dielectric layer are investigated for the plane wave incidence case of both arbitrary(oblique) incidence angle and arbitrary polarization by use of the spectral domain method combined with the sampling theorem. Some numerical results for the Bragg and Off-Bragg blazing phenomena for the cases of arbitrary incidence angle and polarization as well as TE and TM polarization are presented along with discussions on those phenomena.

  • In this paper, The TE (Transverse Electric) scattering problems by a perfectly conducting strip grating over a grounded two dielectric layers are analyzed by applying the conductive boundary condition and the FGMM (Fourier-Galerkin Moment Method) known as a numerical procedure, then the induced surface current density is expanded in a series of the multiplication of the unknown coefficient and the exponential function as a simple function. Generally, the reflected power gets increased according as the relative permittivity ${\epsilon}_{r2}$ and the thickness of dielectric layer $t_2$ of the region-2 in the presented structure gets increased, respectively. The sharp variations of the reflected power are due to resonance effects were previously called wood's anomaly, the numerical results show in good agreement with those of the existing papers.

  • In this paper, Electromagnetic scattering problem by a resistive strip grating with 2 dielectric layers on a ground plane according as resistivity of resistive strip, relative permittivity and thickness of dielectric layers, and incident angles of a electric wave is analyzed by applying the PMM (Point Matching Method) known as a numerical procedure. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of floquet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients and the resistive boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential electric field and the electric current density on the strip. According as the relative permittivity and the thickness of layers are increased, the values of the geometrically normalized reflected power have a high value and the values of strip width are moved toward a high value going from left to right. When the resistivity of this paper has a value of zero, the numerical results of the geometrically normalized reflected power show in good agreement with those by the PMM of existing paper. Then, the most energys of the sharp variation point in minimum values of the geometrically normalized reflected power are scattered in direction of the other angles except incident angle.

The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of floguet mode functions, the boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients, and the conductive boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential electric field and the induced surface current density on the strip. The numerical results for the reflected and transmitted power of zeroth mode analyzed by according as the width and spacing of conductive strip, the relative permittivity and thickness of dielectric layer, and incident angles. Generally, according to the relative permittivity of dielectric layer increased, also the normalized reflected power of zeroth mode increased. To examine the accruacy of this paper, the numerical results of FGMM shown in good agreement compared to those of PMM.

The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients, the scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of Floquet mode functions, and the resistive boundary condition is applied to analysis of the resistive strip. Overall, as the resistivity decreased, the magnitude of the current density induced in the resistive strip increased, and the reflected power also increased. In case of uniform resistivity, the reflected power decreased as the relative permittivity of the dielectric layers increased or the thickness of the dielectric layer increased. The numerical results for the presented structure in this paper are shown in good agreement compared to those of the existing papers.

  • In this paper, the TM (Transverse Magnetic) scattering problems by a perfectly conducting strip grating over a grounded two dielectric layers with edge boundary condition are analyzed by applying the FGMM (Fourier Galerkin Moment Method). For the TM scattering problem, the induced surface current density is expected to the very high value at both edges of the strip, then the induced surface current density on the conductive strip is expanded in a series of the multiplication of the Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind and the functions of appropriate edge boundary condition. Generally, when the value of the relative permittivity of dielectric layers over the ground plane increased, the strip width according to the sharp variation points of the reflected power is shifted to a higher value. The numerical results shown the fast convergent solution and good agreement compared to those of the existing papers.

  • This paper describes to extend the MLFMA(Multi-Level Fast Multipole Algorithm) for three-dimensional capacitance computation in the case of conductors embedded in an arbitrary dielectric medium. The triangular meshes are used and refined in the area which has heavy charge density. This technique is applied to the capacitance extraction of three-dimensional structures with multiple dielectrics. The results show good convergence with the comparable accuracy, and this adaptive technique coupled with MLFMA is useful to reduce computing time and the number of elements with least additional computational efforts in large three dimensional problems.
