User Experience and Flow on Smart-Phone -Focused on Galaxy S8 (스마트 폰의 사용자 경험과 플로우 -갤럭시 S8을 중심으로)

  • Smart phones that have lost their existing physical home buttons are being released at the same time, and the flow of users is also changing. The flow is highly subjective and can vary depending on the individual's tendencies. Therefore, this study investigated the change of the flow of smart phone users by Q methodology which is a method of subjectivity research. As a result, the proficiency level of how to turn on the power to start the screen showed a tendency to decrease the flow, and the playability, which is a result of curiosity about the new thing, The results were very positive in the continuity of navigation due to the use of software buttons instead of buttons. Therefore, it can be seen that the change in the hardware smartphone has a positive effect on the flow.

  • Recently, by growing of Korean comics/animation markets and number of consumers, the more people have been reproducing culture contents into derived contents. However, user experience of active users who enjoy these cultures have not been accepted well like other local culture festivals in South Korea, though there are high potentials of vitalization comics/animation festivals using the active users. In this study, the experiences of participants of BICOF (Bucheon International Comics Festival) from 2013 to 2014 researched using the method of ethnography, especially using (group) interviews and participant observations. The result from the research indicates that cosplayers have limited range of participation inside of festival. And they have negative experiences during their participation into festivals. Therefore, this study suggests necessity of methodology of continuous reflecting of the user experiences of active users into festival, for the solution of the successful festival, who was objectified in the festival.

An Exercise to Explore Avatar Customization and Gender Swapping (게임 유저의 아바타 성별 선택의 측도(測度)에 관한 연구)

  • Avatars are a visual representation of users in a virtual world such as an MMORPG. These avatars are often seen as representations or idealizations of the user's actual self. However, this view does not account for the prevalence of two behaviors: multiple avatars and 'gender swapping'. An exercise and questionnaire were created to study avatar customization practices across players outside the context of any particular game to understand better user motivations in creating their virtual selves. A preliminary trial of the exercise showed little correlation between age or gender and gender swapping. While those of non-traditional sexuality were more likely to gender swap, half of traditional sexuality also swapped. Finally, the personality trait, Openness to Experience, showed promising correlation with gender swapping.

  • Online game has been made of total products which user was given the experimental properties of a variety such as fun and the total of hardware and software products. Through this processes, The company earned a profitable benefits, in addition to the user was given satisfactory service. In this sense the parts of the game production process, the service earlier in the game testing a variety of ways needs to the user through the game as a condition for providing the content can be. Contact a professional game testing job is done systematically through the game's completion of a game developed by companies to see that service to complement previous significant. In this study, search for independent testing cases and the systematical cases as experts needs a range of the testing services.

  • Until now, the level design for games has played a very important role in the process of developing games since it has been mapped out and applied so the game players have fun to certain level in playing games. So as game becomes more complex the number of game designers also grow and to make diverse levels, work force and working hours also should grow larger. In this treatise, it suggest a way where level's structure is changing dynamically so with only one level you can experience diverse levels by introducing wandering agent to the level structure. Also, I am trying to show the possibility of balance between the players by wandering agent.

  • 모바일폰의 LCD 전면화 추세로 인해 터치스크린을 기반으로 하는 모바일폰이 컨셉폰의 형태로 선보여지고 있고, 부분적으로 터치스크린을 차용한 모바일폰이 국내, 국외에 출시되고 있다. 터치스크린은 간편하고 직관적인 조작감을 제공하며 유동적인 인터페이스를 가능하게 하는 장점이 있다. 그리고 이러한 터치스크린의 장점을 적극적으로 활용할 수 있도록 하는 진보된 인터랙션 스타일도 다양하게 제안되고 있다. 하지만 기존의 터치스크린 기반의 모바일폰은 스타일러스를 그대로 사용하듯, 제한적이고 전형적인 인터렉션만을 제공하고 있고, 제안된 진보된 인터렉션 스타일들도 터치스크린 기반의 모바일폰에 직접적으로 활용하기는 어려운 실정이다. 본 연구는 진보된 인터랙션 스타일 중에서, 원 포인팅과 2개 이상의 포인팅이 가능한 멀티 포인팅 인터랙션을 연구하여 터치스크린기반의 Full LCD 모바일폰에 적합한 인터랙션 스타일을 제안한다. 이를 위해, 인터랙션에 대한 문헌연구와 함께 터치스크린을 기반으로 하는 다양한 디지털기기를 검토해보고, 터치스크린에 적용 가능한 진보된 인터랙션 사례들을 조사하였다. 그 후 터치디스크린 기반의 디지털기기를 사용하는 사용자의 행태를 파악하기 위한 유저테스트 및 인터뷰를 실시하여, 터치스크린 기반의 모바일폰에서 구현되어야 할 상세 인터랙션 스타일을 도출하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 인터랙션 스타일은 다양한 사용자 경험을 가능하게 하여 고기능, 고사양화 되어가는 모바일폰의 UI를 보다 효과적으로 사용하는데 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

  • 1990년대 휴대폰이 일반화가 시작된 이후 지금까지 수많은 종류의 휴대폰이 출시되어왔다. 종류가 다양해진 만큼 기능, 목적, 사용방법 또한 다변화 되었고, 이로 인해 매일같이 쏟아져 나오는 휴대폰의 기능 및 사용방법에 대해 유저들은 항상 새로운 방식을 익히도록 강요되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 Key Card Arranging 기법을 활용하여 현재 모바일 기기 사용자들의 멘탈 모델에 적합한 최적의 Key Mapping에 대한 가이드라인을 제시함으로써 최소한의 노력으로 사용자들이 정보기기를 활용할 수 있도록 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구를 위하여 국내의 대표적인 6개 휴대폰 회사별로 선별된 테스트 서브젝트들을 선정하여 실험을 실시 하였으며, 구체적인 방법론은 다음과 같다. 우선 핸드폰 기기 내의 Hot Key에 대한 Key Mapping을 중심으로 Key Card Arranging 기법과 In-depth Interview 방법론을 활용하여 선정된 서브젝트들을 대상으로 사용자 멘탈 모델에 대한 데이터를 취합하였다. 취합된 자료를 중심으로 정량적 데이터 분석 방법을 활용, 사용자의 휴대폰 키 맵핑에 대한 이상적인 멘탈 모델을 제안하고, 최종적으로 본 연구를 통하여 사용자에게 최적의 경험을 제공하기 위하여 휴대폰 Key Mapping에 대한 가이드라인들을 제시한다.

  • This paper is to review from a developer's perspective about the relationship between game development and the convergence of several disciplines during the game development. As the popularity of smart phones is accelerating mobile gaming it is becoming an area where various types of games that appeal to all ages of users. In this study, the production of a new genre of mobile games that can be enjoyed by all ages apart an existing generalized game and will be described an experience for them. The games built on the game plan, the planning information through the process of creating the actual game. At the same time, it studies on the relationship between each process by several studies.

  • A game engine should have the architecture that can manage various interactions between entities in a game for offering users various game experience. For this purpose, the game engine architecture based on message system is used. But only by this message based system, it is difficult to change game world continuously according to some storylines. The reason of this is event-driven system like message based system is appropriate for processing individual message but is not appropriate for processing more bigger logical work unit. For this purpose this paper proposes the storyline entity. The storyline entity has logical flows for a storyline and is called by engine continuously. By this proposed game engine architecture he or she can maintain free game experience by message based system and can add some progressing of storylines.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the factors effecting users' satisfaction on game AI for early AI diffusion. For this purpose, we interviewed 20 users who had experiences playing Blade&Soul, made by NCsoft. Interview data had been analyzed through the Semantic Network Analysis program to identify key subject words and their relations. As a result, the paper has found keywords such as patterns, contents, variety, system, and getting new users as factors effecting users satisfaction on game AI.
