An Application of Landsat Image in Development of Hydrologic Planning Model(1) (수문계획모델에 있어서 Landsat 영상의 응용(1))

  • Landsat data are valuable in itself, and if they are classified in quantitative information and transformed to practical users, they will be more useful. In this view, it is very important to extract hydrologic parameter from Landsat data and to develope the hydrologic model that can be transformed to hydrologist to use it. This study is primary step for accomplishment of such purpose. This paper include output of hydrologic model which define the relation between soil condition and discharge and process of analysis of optical image or digital image that is adapted for hydrologic model. Finally, this paper present that Landsat image is very useful, economic and produce sufficiently accurate information for hydrologic model in large area watershed.

  • This study presents a Power Quality(:PQ) costs calculation methodology based on Value-Based Methodology. A SCDF including Voltage Sag Costs is presented to calculate Sustained Interruption Costs, Momentary Interruption Costs, and Voltage Sags Costs. Authors compared between interruption costs without Back-Up Power Supply and interruption costs with Back-Up Power Supply, and showed reduction of interruption costs by investing Back-UP Power Supply by multi-lateral analyzation. By applying this method to the real system, evaluated and analyzed power quality of the system.

  • Design is an extremely critical and important for the prosperity and development of a corporation, and design for children's facilities can be said to be a critical factor not only from a commercial perspective but also one of the critical factors that can be beneficial to the physical, intellectual and emotional growth and development of children. To measure the economic value of publicly designed children's facilities established with the purpose of children's design education, this research study utilized the Contingent Valuation Method. This research study attempts to provide useful information for policy administrators on the usage of both publicly designed children's facilities with high use value and also high non-use value through economic value measurement. To achieve the objectives of this research, the Contingent Valuation Method that utilized both open-ended questions and also double-bounded dichotomous choice methodologies was used. The results of the pre-verification that used the open-ended questions results from 50 test subject participants and the double-bounded dichotomous choice methodology results from 530 test subject participants confirmed that the average annual per person expense was estimated to be KRW 12,463. The gross benefit amount figure estimated for all households in the nation was estimated to be about KRW 219 billion annually.

A Meta-regression Analysis of Wetland Valuation Studies in Korea (우리나라 습지의 환경적 가치 : 메타회귀분석)

  • Wetland provides various environmental services as well as marketable goods to human society. This paper presents a meta-analysis of the wetland valuation studies conducted in Korea during the past decade. Meta-analysis is a technique of summarizing research results from the separate but related studies using statistical methods. The objectives of the paper is to identify the main factors affecting the wetland values and to examine the applicability of meta-regression analysis for summarizing the information from valuation studies of natural ecosystem. The total of 64 observations from 24 studies are assembled, and we observe significant differences in wetland values depending on the characteristics of the studies. With the statistical significance, our results indicate that the method employed affects the wetland values while the wetland function evaluated affects little. In addition, we found that the size of wetland is negatively associated with the values, implying that wetland values exhibit the decreasing returns to scale. The evidences from our empirical analysis suggest that the meta-analysis has a potential as a tool to synthesize the research results from valuation studies and to provide useful information to policy makers. However, this study acknowledges that more effort should be dedicated toward the construction of DB on valuation studies as well as the research on the model improvement to enhance the validity and reliability of meta-analysis.

A Study on the Perceived Value and Intention of Use of Mobile Shopping Apps Using Value-Based Adoption Model (VAM) (가치기반수용모델(VAM)을 활용한 모바일 쇼핑 앱의 지각된 가치와 사용의도에 관한 연구)

  • As the spread of smartphones has become more common and the utilization rate has increased, the mobile shopping market is also growing and expectations for related industries are also increasing. Mobile shopping apps are converging with various industries such as fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, and competition among companies to increase the number of users is intensifying with the activation of non-face-to-face. Accordingly, in this study, a study on the perceived value and intention to use mobile shopping apps was conducted based on a VAM. In order to test the hypothesis of this study, a questionnaire was conducted on 266 people who had used a mobile shopping app and it was used for analysis. Looking at the results, it was confirmed that both usefulness and enjoyment among the perceived benefit of mobile shopping apps have a positive (+) effect on the perceived value. However, it was found that the technicality and perceived risk among the perceived sacrifices of mobile shopping apps did not significantly affect the perceived value. Finally, it was confirmed that the perceived value of the mobile shopping app had a positive (+) effect on the intention to use. Through this study, we would like to examine the factors that can affect perceived value and usage intention in the mobile shopping app industry, which is increasingly competitive among companies along with the rapid growth of mobile technology and market, and suggest practical implications for related companies and officials to establish efficient strategies to further increase mobile shopping app users.

The Relationship on Corporate Governance, Corporate Real Estate Holding Policies and Firm Value: Focus on IFRS Adoption (기업지배구조와 기업부동산 보유정책과 기업가치와의 관련성: IFRS도입을 중심으로)

  • Despite the fact that corporate real estate ratio accounts for a considerable proportion of the assets, such researches and studies are lacking and there is not enough such policies to utilize real estate more effectively in Korea. In particular, after IFRS adoption, the owner and manager needs to utilize corporate real estate assets as the assets are revalued. In this study, we analyzed the relationship between corporate governance, corporate real estate holding policies and firm value based on financial data from 2010 to 2016. As a result of regression analysis, this study showed that more Dictatorship Portfolio, the higher proportion of corporate real estate holdings. Next, the higher proportion of corporate real estate holdings, the lower the firm value. This study suggests that corporate real estate is recognized an important factor and should have proper holding ratio. I will continue my research to show that the corporate holding policies are an important asset impact by verifying the mediating effect between corporate governance and firm value in the future.

  • Highway ARS service made several times handling of cellular phone for accept the one information. But, use the cellular phone while driving is against the law that 'Road Traffic Act' and wield influence on safety by degrade driver's attention that causes reduced section of concentration. On this study, propose a new type service that more useful and safer witch improved of existing ARS service to it served for cellular phone. For the analyze problem in existing ARS service, collect and analysis that ARS using status data and highway overall speed data, and then offer a better service type which based on improvements to that. Also, make a comparative analysis including measure of degree about easy to use and safety between two services by using the Stated Preference method, as a result of verifies the effect of new type service Finally, for measure of the effect the value of improved ARS service type that used willingness to pay in CVM method.

  • This study is to point out importance of narrative as a way of learning values and interests for learners. Thus, geography value instruction models with narrative was developed and applied to teaching model. The results are as follows: First, narrative is useful to value education. Because narrative includes the contextual information, leaners are able to make a moral decision in respect of socio-cultural approach and to reach more truthful and practical decision with empathic understanding. Second, comparing with an expository text, the narrative text is more interesting, understandable, and preferred. Third, Web of meaning, one of scaffolding skills, is helpful to expand the scope of learner's thinking and group activity. Fourth, learner's awareness toward the topic changes. However, it is required to develop a practical method for elaborate assessment tool and for learners' active participation.

  • After reformation of 'the law of private investment on social infrastructure' on January 2005, BTL of educational facilities can improve the education circumstance at early stage, however there are trial and error, problems of execution as well. The key of this problem is not only related to whether BTL project is more reasonable, but it also leads to the proper performance of eligibility analysis on BTL. Therefore, it lead to the proper carryout of eligibility analysis on BTL. In order to promote effective BTL project of educational facilities, this study analyzes problems of existing model and creates the evaluation model for solving this problem. In this study, the evaluation model of investment on BTL has more quick ,accuracy and useful effect than previous one, if it is applied on eligibility stage. Moreover, this method could be applied to public building, SOC facilities effectively based on being modified as each characteristics of structure suitably.

An Economic Feasibility Study on Power Plant Construction and Operation Using Real Options (실물옵션을 활용한 발전소 건설 타당성 분석)

  • As energy industry is undergoing a rapid structural changes, economic feasibility analysis based on the conventional discounted cash flow (DCF) method has limitations to incorporate management's flexibilities. We present a real options pricing method (ROPM) which can be applied to an energy sector as an alternative. In order to examine the usefulness of ROPM, this study compares the result of DCF method applied to the investment of cogeneration power plant with that based on the ROPM incorporating the value of real of options inherent in the project. The simulation results show that the value of investment opportunities improves using ROPM compared to that with the conventional DCF methods. Therefore, a specific project which appears to be unprofitable from the conventional point of view could be, actually, an economically feasible one based on ROPM method, when properly incorporating the management's flexibilities inherent in the project.
