Flexibility Effects of Frame for Vehicle Dynamic Characteristics (차량 동특성에 대한 프레임의 유연성 효과)

  • Previous method of computer simulation to predict the dynamic response of a vehicle has been based on the assumption that vehicle structure is rigid. If the flexibility of the vehicle structure becomes too large to ignore, rigid body assumption will no longer give good estimation of the dynamic characteristics. Therefore, in order to predict more precise vehicle dynamic characteristics, flexible multi-body dynamic analysis of a vehicle is necessary. This paper investigates dynamic characteristics of vehicle systems with flexible frames numerically. Joint reaction forces, vertical accelerations, pitch accelerations are analyzed for the vehicle systems with various flexible frames using multi-body dynamic analysis code and finite element analysis code.

  • This research is concerned with the experimental investigation on the vibrations of a flexible two-link system for verifying the theoretical result from simplified equations of motion for the system along with the kinematical synthesis are proposed to simulate the elastic vibrations of a previous study. The structure consists of flexible two-links; The link 2 is attached to the end of the link 1. The link 1 is made of composite fiber reinforced polymer and the link 2 is an aluminum beam. In order to verify the theoretical result, a flexible two-link system operated by the AC and RC servo motors was constructed. Experimental results show that the dynamic modeling approach and the kinematical synthesis proposed in this paper are effective.

Optimization of Flexible Multibody Dynamic Systems Using Equivalent Static Load Method (등가정하중을 이용한 유연다물체 동역학계의 구조최적설계)

  • Generally, structural optimization is carried out based on external static loads. All forces have dynamic characteristics in the real world. Mathematical optimization with dynamic loads is extremely difficult in a large-scale problem due to the behaviors in the time domain. In practical applications, it is customary to transform the dynamic loads into static loads by dynamic factors, design codes, and etc. But the optimization results with the unreasonably transformed loads cannot give us good solutions. Recently, a systematic transformation has been proposed as an engineering algorithm. Equivalent static loads are made to generate the same displacement field as the one from dynamic loads at each time step of dynamic analysis. Thus, many load cases are used as the multiple loading conditions which are not costly to include in modem structural optimization. In this research, the proposed algorithm is applied to the optimization of flexible multibody dynamic systems. The equivalent static load is derived from the equations of motion of a flexible multibody dynamic system. A few examples that have been solved before are solved to be compared with the results from the proposed algorithm.

  • 열화상 시스템은 물체로부터 발산되는 적외선을 영상화하여 물체를 탐지하는 장점으로 인해 군사 분야는 물론 현재 민수 분야(자동차, Security 시스템)에 활용분야가 넓어지고 있다. 기존에는 대부분 FPGA 기반으로 열화상 열상 모듈을 개발하였지만 민수 분야에 다양한 요구사항 및 범용성에 유연한 대처가 힘든 실정이다. 따라서 다양한 요구사항과 범용성을 만족하기 위한 시스템의 필요성이 대두되었다. 본 논문에서는 상용 이미지 프로세서를 이용한 열화상 영상 처리 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 기존 FPGA 기반 시스템이 아닌 상용 이미지 프로세서를 사용함으로써 범용 영상 입·출력 인터페이스 및 각종 디바이스를 지원함에 따라 다양한 요구사항과 범용성을 만족한다. 따라서 시스템이 구축이 되면 뛰어난 접근성으로 인하여 시스템 추가/변경 시 기존의 시스템에 비해 개발 비용 및 기간을 단축할 수 있으며 그로 인하여 다양한 고객 요구사항 만족, 개발 비용 및 시간 단축, 제품 출시일 등 다양한 이점을 얻을 것으로 예상한다.

Vibration Analysis of the Beam Structure with a Moving Mass (이동물체에 의한 보 구조물의 진동 해석)

  • This paper introduced a simple numerical analysis algorithm for the calculation of the dynamic responses of the beam structure with a moving mass. The dynamic equation of motion of the Bernoulli-Euler beam is derived by considering the moving mass as a moving particle, and the dynamic equation of motion is transformed into an integro-differential equation by use of the structural influence function. The numerical solutions of the integro-differential equation are obtained by the modal analysis approach, and compared with those cited from well-known references. The proves that the numerical analysis algorithm proposed herein provide very reliable results, and thus it can be utilized in the design analysis of the beamlike structures exited by a mass which is traveling on it.

  • Background modeling and motion detection is the one of the most significant real time video processing technique. Until now, many researches are conducted into the topic but it still needs much time for robustness. It is more important when other algorithms are used together such as object tracking, classification or behavior understanding. In this paper, we propose efficient multi-modal background modeling methods which can be understood as simplified learning method of Gaussian mixture model. We present its validity using numerical methods and experimentally show detecting performance.

  • The Hilbert transform, which has been hitherto discussed in coherent imaging, is for the first time investigated in the context of incoherent imaging. Because the Hilbert transform of the information is superposed coherently with the original light field. We present a two-pupil optical heterodyne scanning system and analyze mathematically the design of its two pupils such that the optical system can perform the Hilbert transform on incoherent objects. In this paper, we review and formulate the definition of an analytic signal of a function and from which we can obtain the Hilbert transform of the function. and we analyze the design of pupils so as to obtain the Hilbert transform and show some 2-D simulations. Computer simulation results of the idea clarify the theoretical results.

Analysis on Response Characteristics of a Flexible Net Sheet in Waves (파랑중 유연한 그물망의 응답특성 해석)

  • Based on the hydroelastic theory and the matched eigenfunction expansion method(MEEM), the dynamic behavior of the porous flexible net sheet and wave forces have been investigated in monochromatic waves. The net sheet is installed vertically with the submergence depth. Top end of a net sheet is fixed and its lower end is attached by a clump weight. It is assumed that the initial tension is sufficiently large so that the effects of dynamictension variation can be neglected. The boundary condition on the porous flexible net sheet is derived based on Darcy's fine-pore model and body boundary condition. The developed analytic model can be extended to the impermeable/permeable vertical plate and the impermeable flexible membrane. The analytical model was used to study the influence of design parameters(wave characteristics, porosity, submergence depth, initial tension) on the response characteristics and wave load of the net sheet.

A Force Reflecting and Compliant Control for Heavy-Duty Power Telemanipulators with Control Input Saturation (제어입력 포화를 고려한 고하중 원격조작기의 힘반영 유연성 제어)

  • Since the heavy-duty power manipulator generally has high ratio gear reducers at its joints, its dynamic characteristics is much slower than that of the master manipulator and it is likely to encounter the saturation in the input magnitude when it is used as the slave manipulator in telemanipulation systems. This paper proposes a force reflecting and compliant control scheme for the heavy-duty power telemanipulator. The main advantage of the proposed scheme is that it provides a precise position and compliant control performance for a telemanipulator with control input saturation. The stability of the proposed scheme is analyzed and a series of experiments shows its performance.

Wind Turbine Simulation Program Development using an Aerodynamics Code and a Multi-Body Dynamics Code (풍력발전시스템의 유연체 다물체 동역학 시뮬레이션 프로그램 개발)

  • A wind turbine simulation program for the coupled dynamics of aerodynamics, elasticity, multi-body dynamics and controls of turbine is newly developed by combining an aero-elastic code and a multi-body dynamics code. The aero-elastic code, based on the blade momentum theory and generalized dynamic wake theory, is developed by NREL(National Renewable Energy Laboratory, USA). The multi-body dynamics code is commercial one which is capable of accounting for geometric nonlinearity and twist deflection. A turbulent wind load case is simulated for the NREL 5-MW baseline wind turbine model by the developed program and FAST. As a result, the two results agree well enough to verify the reliability of the developed program.
