Development of electro hydraulic ballast remote valve control system with diagnostic function using redundant modbus communication (이중화 모드버스 통신을 이용한 퍼지기반 고장진단기능을 가진 선박 밸러스트 전기유압식 원격밸브제어시스템 개발)

  • This paper describes development of distributed type independent electro-hydraulic ballast valve remote control system with diagnostic function based on fuzzy inference using redundant Modbus communication and ethernet Modbus TCP/IP. Diagnostic function estimate degradation of system components and diagnose system faults, which results in shortage of fault maintenance time and improvement of system safety. Slave devices which control each valve and master device which command, monitor and diagnose slave system are developed. Slave devices are connected to master device with redundant Modbus networks and master device is connected to ship's integrated control system with Modbus TCP/IP. Also this paper describes development of simulator to test and confirm whether developed system can be integrated with ship's integrated control and monitoring system.

Design of Control System for Hydraulic Cylinders of a Sluice Gate Using Fuzzy PI Algorithm (퍼지 PI를 이용한 배수갑문용 유압실린더 제어기 설계)

  • A main technology of opening and closing a sluice gate is accurate synchronous and position control for the two cylinders when they are moving with the sluice gate together over 10[m]. Since the supply flow and supply pressure of cylinders are not constant and a nonlinear friction force of the piston in cylinders exists, a difference will be made between the displacement of two cylinders. This difference causes the sluice gate to deform and abrade, and even it may be out of order. In order to solve this problem we design two kinds of fuzzy PI controllers. The former is for a position control of two cylinders, the latter is for their synchronous control. We show some simulation results compare the performance of fuzzy PI controller to the conventional PID controller.

  • This study presents a genetic algorithm-based method for optimizing control parameters in fluid power systems. Genetic algorithms are general-purpose optimization methods based on natural evolution and genetics. A genetic algorithm seeks control parameters maximizing a measure that evaluates system performance. Five control gains of the PID-PD cascade controller fr an electrohydraulic speed control system with a variable displacement hydraulic motor are optimized using a genetic algorithm in the experiment. Optimized gains are confirmed by inspecting the fitness distribution which represents system performance in gain spaces. It is shown that optimization of the five gains by manual tuning should be a task of great difficulty and that a genetic algorithm is an efficient scheme giving economy of time and in labor in optimizing control parameters of fluid power systems.

  • A proposed hybrid self-tuning control scheme for single rod hydraulic cylinder which has varying loads is presented here. An adaptive controller is developed for the system that use feedforward and P feedback control for simultaneous parameter identification and tracking control. Through experimental results, the performance comparison of the hybrid self-tuning controller with a constant gain P contro- ller clearly shows its superior ability in handling load changes in quiescent states.

Position Control of an Electro Hydraulic Actuator Using Adaptive Control Method (적응제어 기법을 이용한 전기-유압 액츄에이터의 위치제어)

  • This paper deals with the issue of simple adaptive position control for a pump-controlled cylinder system. A fixed displacement pump is utilized instead of servo valve and its speed is controlled by AC motor. The whole control system is composed of a pair of interconnected subsystems, that is, a feedback control system and a feedforward control system. From experiments it is shown that position control using simple adaptive control can accomplish significant reduction in position tracking error comparing to a conventional PID control.
