Study on the Static and Dynamic Structural Analysis Procedure of Excavators (굴삭기의 정적/동적 강도 해석법에 대한 연구)

  • This paper presents the improved procedure to assess static and dynamic strength of crawler type excavators. A fully integrated model including front attachment and chassis was prepared for structural analysis. In this paper, two types of loading input methods were investigated and the method imposing digging force directly on bucket tooth was more convenient than imposing cylinder reaction force on cylinder pin even if the two methods showed no discrepancy in analysis results. Static strength analysis was carried out for eight analysis scenarios based on two extreme digging positions, maximum digging reach position and maximum digging force positions. The results from static strength analysis were compared with measured stresses, cylinder pressures and digging forces and showed a good quantitative agreement with measured data. Dynamic strength analysis was carried out for simple reciprocation of boom cylinders. It was recognized that the effect of compressive stiffness of hydraulic oil was very important for dynamic structural behavior. The results from dynamic strength analysis including hydraulic oil stiffness were also compared with measured acceleration data and showed a qualitative agreement with measured data.

  • The hydraulic hose can be divided with the low pressure, the medium pressure, and the high pressure hose according to the applied pressure. The power steering system in a passenger car can be divided with the high pressure and the low pressure hose. This study deals with the life prediction for high pressure hose to be given impulse pressure which was generated in turning the car. To adjust with external and internal condition, impulse pressure and oil temperature need to be controlled with impulse test system. The result, which is only controlled with the pressure and oil temperature, adapted Calibrated Accelerated Life Test(CALT) method to predict the life of the high pressure hose and analyzed the swagging part by finite element method during the impulse test.

Synthesis and Anti-corrosion Properties of Succinic Acid Alkyl Half-amide Derivatives (숙신산 알킬 하프-아마이드 유도체의 합성 및 해수에 대한 방청성능)

  • Several amide derivatives have been used as additives for base oil of metal working fluids and pressure working oils. In this paper, a series of succinic acid alkyl half-amide derivatives were synthesized as over 97% yields by ring-opening reaction of succinic anhydride and several amines and were soluble in 100 N base oil within 1 wt% concentration. The structures of the synthesized amides were confirmed by $^1H$-NMR, FT-IR spectrum and GC analysis. Anti-corrosion properties of the amides in sea water were evaluated through ASTM D665 method and weight loss method. As the results of anti-corrosion properties, the properties of the amides with shorter alkyl chain and high concentration showed better performance than those with longer alkyl chain and low concentration. Also, the dialkyl amides showed better anti-corrosion properties than those of the monoalkyl amides. Inhibition efficiency% (IE%) was over 93% in the concentration of 40 ppm and corrosion rate (CR) was below 0.5 mm/year in the same concentration.

Inhibition efficiency % (IE%) of the esters was over 95% in the concentration of 80 ppm and corrosion rate (CR) was below 0.3 mm/year at the same concentration. Thus, the corrosion properties of succinic acid alkyl half-esters result from the carboxylic acid groups in molecules.

Synthesis and Lubricating Properties of Succinic Acid Alkyl Ester Derivatives (숙신산 알킬 에스테르 유도체의 합성 및 윤활특성)

  • In this paper, a series of alkyl succinic acid esters for base oil were synthesized by condensation reaction of succinic anhydride and fatty alcohol. The structures of the synthesized esters were confirmed by $^1H-NMR$, FT-IR spectrum and GC analysis. Basic properties of esters such as kinematic viscosity (KV), refractive index (RI), total acid number (TAN) and pour points were measured and lubricating properties such as SRV wear scar diameter (SRV WSD), fraction coefficient (COF) and 4-ball wear (4-ball WSD) were also evaluated. As the results of basic properties, KV, RI and pour point of synthetic esters increased as the carbon chain of the esters increased. Measurement value of total acid number (TAN) was indicated between 0.2~4 mgKOH/g, and that metal working fluids and pressure working oils are acceptable to use as base oil. Also, lubricating properties of the esters showed as follows: 0.391~0.689 mm of SRV WSD, 0.110~0.138 of SRV COF and 0.49~0.55 mm of 4-ball WSD depended on the structure of the esters. In a comparison on the lubrication capacity of the SRV test based on polyester TMPTO, SRV WSD result showed that a better performance caused by the alkyl group. On the other hand, SRV COF test was not influenced of the alkyl group which the capacity of the lubricant was sightly diminished than the comparison material, regardless of the alkyl group.
