It is well known that low body mass index and younger age are associated with high breast density. Mammographic dense breast has been reported both as a cause of false-negative findings on mammography and as an indicator of increased breast cancer risk. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between breast density and body mass index. Furthermore, we considered proper screening method of breast cancer in Korean women. The study was performed on 496 women who underwent health checkup in a university hospital. Age and body mass index were negatively associated with breast density respectively. In postmenopausal women, age and body mass index showed statistically significant association with breast density. Therefore, we should consider sensitive additional method for breast cancer screening especially in younger age and underweight women.
In this study, we measure dose against various density and thickness using phantom to compare FFDM to DBT of Digital mammography equipment and evaluate usefulness of DBT through compare the image quality of FFDM and DBT. We use mammography equipment, Selenia Dimensions ; this is able to examine breast by both FFDM and DBT, The results are that when the thickness of phantom is 6cm or more and density is 70% or more and the thickness of phantom is 7cm or more and density is 50% or more, AGD of DBT is lower than that of FFDM. The evaluation results of image quality are that in the tumor and small calcification group that composed by mammary tissue and fat, FFDM is great and in fibrin, DBT is great. But in the all thicknesses of BR3D phantom that reflected overlapped tissue of breasts, DBT is great in calcification group, fibrin and tumor. DBT is greater image quality and lower dose more than FFDM in Thick and high density breast, Therefore, DBT is more useful in Korean women's breast that is characterized dense breast than FFDM.

We report herein a 46-year-old woman who presented with mucinous breast carcinoma that appeared as a coarse and densely calcified mass on mammography. The lesion was a 4.6-cm-sized palpable, hyperechoic, calcified mass with posterior shadowing on ultrasonography. This finding is a unique feature of mucinous breast carcinoma and is also observed in unusual breast cancer variants such as metaplastic breast cancer with chondroid differentiation, extraosseous osteosarcoma, and breast chondrosarcoma. The lesion showed a slow-growing pattern throughout the 4-year observation period. Mammography performed 4 years ago revealed faint, grouped microcalcifications; the lesion increased in size over 2 years, presenting as a well-circumscribed, calcified mass, mimicking dystrophic calcification. As several unusual variants of breast cancer, including mucinous carcinoma, may present as coarse and densely calcified masses on mammography, immediate biopsy should be considered when they are observed.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of breast cancer from mammography images and to investigate the characteristics of patients who was diagnosed as a breast cancer. The subjects for this study were 85 patients who underwent breast imaging test with screen-film method and investigated from March 2010 to October 2010. The average age of the subjects is 51.9 years old. The 43.5% of onsets were located at the upper outer quadrant (UOQ). In terms of the age group, group for 40-49 ages were highest 37.6 (32/85)%. As for breast composition, fatty and dense breast were 30.6% (26/85) and 69.4% (59/85) respectively. The average age of the patients with fatty breast is 62.4 years old, whereas those with dense breast was 46.5 years old. The false negative rate of mammography images was 27.1% (23/85) and the sensitivity of mammography was 72.9% (62/85). The false negative rate of the patients with dense breast was 32.2% (19/59). the sensitivity of them was 67.8% (40/59).
This study aimed to assess detection rate applying the mammographic imaging methods. The evaluation of the shape and margin of tumor was conducted by score oriented to 180 patients who had undergone FFDM, DBT and BMRI scans among breast cancer patients, and the number of calcification was classified by size. There was no significant difference between DBT and BMRI for tumors larger than 1 cm in low-density breasts and for tumors larger than 2 cm in high-density breasts. Moreover, as for the detection rate of number of fine calcification, the highest rate was observed in FFDM followed by DBT and BMRI in the order named regardless of size. In conclusion, DBT was able to be detected even without BMRI if the mass was larger than 1 cm in the low-density breast and larger than 2 cm in the high-density breast. The detection rate of calcification turned out to be the highest in FFDM followed by DBT regardless of size, and calcification was not observed by BMRI. The appropriate use of FFDM, DBT and BMRI with respect to mass tumor will contribute to serving as a guide to examination methods of reducing burden of patients.

Forty- nine quarters from 24 lactating cows with chronic mastitis were selected. The cows were raised on dairy farms in Gongju, Jochiwon and Yeongi in Chungnam province, and Iksan in Jeonbuk province, Korea. The 49 quarters with bovine mastitis were divided into control (7 quarters) and experimental (42 quarters) groups. The experimental quarters were assigned to experimental group A (10 quarters, somatic cell count: $50-100\times10^4/ml)$, experimental group B (14 quarters, somatic cells count: $100-300{\times}10^4/ml)$, and experimental group C (18 quarters, somatic cells count: $>300\times10^4/ml$), according to the number of the somatic cells in their milk. The quarters of control group were treated with norfloxacin ointment (10 g/tube) based on the result of sensitivity, twice a day for 3 days. The quarters or experimental groups were infused 10ml or ozonated oils twice a day for 3 days. After treatment, the milk of the control group contained non-significantly lower numbers of somatic cells and bacteria on day 7, compared with pretreatment levels. Experimental groups A, B and C had lower somatic and bacterial cells in their milk on day 7, compared with pretreatment levels. Experimental group B and C had significantly lower numbers of somatic cells in their milk ell day 7 than before treatment (p<0.01). However, no significant difference in somatic cell numbers was detected between the control alld experimental groups. It was concluded that ozone therapy with ozonated oil applied on bovine mastitis might be effective.

Purpose The purpose of our study was to evaluate digital breast tomosynthesis as a breast cancer screening modality for women with gynecologic cancer. Materials and Methods This retrospective study included patients with underlying gynecologic malignancies who underwent screening digital breast tomosynthesis for breast cancer. The cancer detection rate, recall rate, sensitivity, specificity, and positive predictive value (PPV) were calculated. PPV1 was defined as the percentage of all positive screening exams that have a tissue diagnosis of cancer within a year. PPV2 was defined as the percentage of all diagnostic exams (and Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System category 4, 5 from screening setting) with a recommendation for tissue diagnosis that have cancer within a year. PPV3 was defined as the percentage of all known biopsies actually performed that resulted in a tissue diagnosis of cancer within the year. For each case of screen-detected cancer, we analyzed the age, type of underlying gynecologic malignancy, breast density, imaging features, final Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System assessment, histologic type, T and N stages, molecular subtype, and Ki-67 index. Results Among 508 patients, 7 with breast cancer were identified after a positive result. The cancer detection rate was 13.8 per 1000 screening exams, and the recall rate was 17.9%. The sensitivity was 100%, and the specificity was 83.2%. The false negative rate was 0 per 1000 exams. The PPV1, PPV2, and PPV3 were 7.7, 31.8, and 31.8, respectively. Conclusion Digital breast tomosynthesis may be a promising breast cancer screening modality for women with gynecologic cancer, based on the high cancer detection rate, high sensitivity, high PPV, and high detection rate of early-stage cancer observed in our study.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of brachytherapy of breast cancer by dose assessment which a steady increased in Korea women. The dose assessment was performed using the MCNPX program, a MonteCarlo simulation technique. The sources used for brachytherapy was 192Ir. And nanoparticle which used for dose enhancement was gold. The density of nanoparticle was 7, 18 and 30 mg. Evaluation of absorbed dose according to distance is measured at a distance of 30, 50, 100 and 200 cm from the patient. As a result, The breast absorbed dose results increased in proportion to the density of nanoparticle. And the surrounding organs were not significantly different according to the density. But, in some organs, the absorbed dose decreased as the density of nanoparticles increased. Absorbed dose according to the distance was in inverse proportion to distance.

Purpose : The aim of this study is to evaluate unwanted scattered dose to ovary by scattering and leakage generated from treatment fields of Tomotherapy for childbearing woman with breast cancer. Materials and Methods : The radiation treatments plans for left breast cancer were established using Tomotherapy planning system (Tomotherapy, Inc, USA). They were generated by using helical and direct Tomotherapy methods for comparison. The CT images for the planning were scanned with 2.5 mm slice thickness using anthropomorphic phantom (Alderson-Rando phantom, The Phantom Laboratory, USA). The measurement points for the ovary dose were determined at the points laterally 30 cm apart from mid-point of treatment field of the pelvis. The measurements were repeated five times and averaged using glass dosimeters (1.5 mm diameter and 12 mm of length) equipped with low-energy correction filter. The measures dose values were also converted to Organ Equivalent Dose (OED) by the linear exponential dose-response model. Results : Scattered doses of ovary which were measured based on two methods of Tomo helical and Tomo direct showed average of $64.94{\pm}0.84mGy$ and $37.64{\pm}1.20mGy$ in left ovary part and average of $64.38{\pm}1.85mGy$ and $32.96{\pm}1.11mGy$ in right ovary part. This showed when executing Tomotherapy, measured scattered dose of Tomo Helical method which has relatively greater monitor units (MUs) and longer irradiation time are approximately 1.8 times higher than Tomo direct method. Conclusion : Scattered dose of left and right ovary of childbearing women is lower than ICRP recommended does which is not seriously worried level against the infertility and secondary cancer occurrence. However, as breast cancer occurrence ages become younger in the future and radiation therapy using high-precision image guidance equipment like Tomotherapy is developed, clinical follow-up studies about the ovary dose of childbearing women patients would be more required.
