A Lagrangian particle tracking model coupled with the ECOM3D were used to study on the behavior of fresh water released from the Namgang Dam in terms of residence time in Kangjin Bay, South Sea, Korea. Model was calibrated until skill cores for elevation, velocity, temperature and salinity are satisfied over 85%. In the numerical simulation, particles were released in 1 hour time interval from the northern boundary. The different patterns of particle trajectory are identified under the varying dynamics from tidal to density-driven current. The average residence time of total particles are approximately 65.9 hours in the entire Kangjin Bay. The average residence time were increased from 55~65 to 70~80 hours during maximum discharge period. Discharge rate of fresh water and average residence time in the Kangjin Bay is high correlated with correlation coefficient over 0.81.
Oshii Mamoru attempts to project the perception of reality about his own modern world as it is through animation. The precedent studies on Oshii Mamoru put their focus on the point that his works have a tendency to represent the devastation of reality as the image of 'a ruin.' In addition, they gave an impression that Oshii Mamoru's animation has gradually developed to expose the 'realistic taste[beauty]' from the design perspective. However, this study is going to put its focus on the point that Mamoru's works were created as an attempt at finding the subversive possibility of the suppressed modern world under the modern capitalism in the aspect of 'everyday life' of the modern world. First, for its analytical purpose, this study intends to do that by dividing the work into the three layers such as space, body and everyday life. In Chapter II, this study, in relation with the issue of 'space' representation, analyzed the space in into the modern, mechanical, compactly capitalized space and also the space just like a closed circuit having the nature of 'repetition.' In Chapter III, this analyzed that suggests the body moving freely between a human named 'Kildren' and the inhuman from the aspect of character's body, through which Mamoru represents the capitalized, reified body of the modern world. In addition, this analyzed the extreme anxiety facing the body into the reflection of the phenomena of 'anxiety' and 'placelessness' consequent on the labor flexibility of the modern world. In Chapter IV, this study, on the basis of the analysis of layers of space & body, analyzed that the 'everyday life' of the modern world was represented in the respects of 'memory' and 'habit', and in the aspects of Mise-en-Sc$\grave{e}$ne, design and direction. In Chapter V, this rooted out the fact that Mamoru suggested the attempt at 'appropriation' based on his perception of reality about such a modern world. Such a finding includes unearthing the fact that Oshii Mamoru's work is raising a question about how to desert and appropriate the modern space. In conclusion of Chapter VI, this drew the conclusion that Oshii Mamoru's work represented the layer of 'everyday life' while dealing with the post-modern themes shown by the existing modern SF genre, provided the 'window' through which people can perceive the 'modern world radically by recommending an attempt at 'appropriation', and blazed a trail in a new realm of creation for animations.

The stability of low-crested structure (LCS) and overtopping discharge over a seawall behind the LCS are influenced by the water level behind the structure. Hence, the experimental results can be distorted unless the increase of water level is known when two-dimensional experiment is carried out. In order to estimate increase of the mean water level behind the low-crested structure, this study applied a hybrid technique that combined results of two-dimensional model test and hydrodynamic numerical modeling based on the relationship between the water level and discharge. By using this technique, the mean water level increase and flow field can be obtained almost at the same time, which resolved the above problem considerably. In addition, this method can provide an approximate information about the outflow velocity from the openings of the structure, which is helpful for selecting appropriate planar configuration of the low-crested structure.

Three simulation approaches for turbulence were applied for the computation of propane dispersion in a simplified real-scale urban area with one building:, Large Eddy Simulation (LES), Detached Eddy Simulation (DES), and Unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS). The computations were performed using FLUENT 14, and the grid system was made with ICEM-CFD. The propane distribution depended on the prediction performance of the three simulation approaches for the eddy structure around the building. LES and DES showed relatively similar results for the eddy structure and propane distribution, while the RANS prediction of the propane distribution was unrealistic. RANS was found to be inappropriate for computation of the gas dispersion process due to poor prediction performance for the unsteady turbulence. Considering the computational results and cost, DES is believed to be the optimal choice for computation of the gas dispersion in a real-scale space.

To protect the citizens' health of Gyeongju and to secure basic data for the assessment of health and environmental risk, distribution characteristics of meteorological elements were investigated and numerical simulation of wind field using RAMS model was carried out. In addition, measurement and analysis of air pollutants, forecasting the behavior air pollutants using ISC-AEROMOD view, and health and environmental risk-influenced zones were defined through managing air polluting materials to prevent health damage and property damage. According to the survey results of air pollution in Gyeongju and surroundings, average annual concentration of air pollutants in Gyeongju was slightly lower than that in Pohang and Ulsan areas, but concentration of particulate matters and nitrogen dioxide at Gyeongju Station Square and Yonggang Crossing were sometimes higher than that in Pohang and Ulsan areas. Results of the modeling of moving and diffusion of air pollutants that affect citizens' health showed that parts of the 1st through 4th industrial complexes together with POSCO were included in particulate matters and sulfur dioxide influenced areas in Pohang Steel Complex area, and that Haedo-dong, Sangdae-dong, Jecheol-dong and Jangheung-dong in Pohangnam-gu represented locally worsened air quality due to a quantity of air pollutant emission from dense steel industries and large scale industrial facilities.

The passive control of fluid force acting on a square prism near a plane wall was studied by attaching horizontal splitter plate on the corner of the prism. The width of the splitter plate was 10% of the square width. The experiments were performed by measuring of fluid force on the prism and by visualization of the flow field using PIV. The experimental parameters were the attaching position and the space ratios G/B between the prism and wall. The flow between the prism and wall was remarkable and Karman vortex in the wake of the prism was considerable in the space ratio over 0.4. The point of inflection of average lift coefficient and Strouhal number on the prism were represented at the space ratio G/B=0.4 for the prototype prism and G/B=0.6 for the prism having horizontal splitter plate. The drag of the prism was reduced average 4.5% with the space ratios by attaching the horizontal splitter plate at the rear and lower corner on the prism. In this case, the size of the separated region on the upside of the prism was smaller than that of prism without the splitter plate.

To enhance the performance of an automobile turbocharger compressor, the circumferential inlet heights of the volute were modified and the flow field for the combined region of the diffuser and volute was numerically investigated using commercial software. Basically, a well-designed volute should have a high pressure recovery coefficient and a low loss coefficient for the total pressure. In this study, two circular volutes with the same cross sectional shape and tongue angle, but circumferentially different volute inlet heights, were selected. One volute had the middle inlet in the cross-section at the circumferential angle of $90^{\circ}$ but gradually lower inlet heights for the angles between $90^{\circ}$ to $360^{\circ}$ with respect to the cross sectional center of the volute, while maintaining the same height between the tangential line connecting the lowest positions of the cross section and the line connecting the volute inlets in the circumferential direction (case 1 volute). The other volute has an inlet height that is 2 mm lower than in case 1 volute such that the tongue section has a tangential inlet (case 2 volute). The results showed that the case 2 volute had a higher total pressure ratio because of its higher pressure recovery coefficient and higher isentropic efficiency, resulting from the lower loss coefficient along the circumferential position than the case 1 volute.
For the proper management of high pressurized gas storage caverns, analysis of groundwater flow field and inflow quantity according to the groundwater head, gas storage pressure and water curtain head should be performed. The finite element method has been widely used for the groundwater flow analysis surrounding underground storage cavern because it can reflect the exact shape of cavern. But the various simulations according to the change of design factors such as the width of water curtain, shape of cavern etc. are not easy when elements were set up. To overcome these limitations, two dimensional groundwater flow model is established based on the boundary element method which compute the unknown variable by using only the boundary shape and condition. For the exact computation of drainage rate into cavern, the model test is performed by using the exact solution and pre-developed finite element model. The test result shows that the model could be used as an alternative to finite element model when various flow simulations are needed to determine the optimizing cavern shape and arrangement of water curtain holes and so forth.

This research aims at establishing the fundamental characteristics of the kite through the analysis of the flow field around various types of kites. The approach of this study were adopted for the analysis; visualization by CFD(computational fluid dynamics). Also, the lift/drag and PIV(particle image velocimetry) tests of kites had been performed in our previous finding. For this situation, models of canvas kite were designed by solidworks(design program) for the CFD test using the same conditions as in the lift/drag tests. And we utilized FloWorks as a CFD analysis program. The results obtained from the above approach are summarized as follows: According to comparison of the measured and analyzed results from mechanical tests, PIV and CFD test, the results of all test were similar. The numerical results of lift-coefficient and drag-coefficient were 5-20% less than those of the tests when attack angle is $10^{\circ},\;20^{\circ}\;and\;30^{\circ}$. In particular, it showed the 20% discrepancy at $40^{\circ}$. The numerical results of the ratio of drag and lift were 8-13% less than those of the tests at $10^{\circ}$ and 10% less than those of the tests at $20^{\circ},\;30^{\circ}\;and\;40^{\circ}$. Pressure distribution gradually became stable at $10^{\circ}$. In particular, the rectangular and triangular types had the centre of the high pressure field towards the leading edge and the inverted triangular type had it towards the trailing edge. The increase of the attack angle resulted in the eddy in order of the rectangular, triangular and inverted triangular type. The magnitude of the eddy followed the same order. The effect of edge-eddy was biggest in the triangular type followed by the rectangular and then the inverted triangular type. The action point of dynamic pressure as a function of the attack angle was close to the rear area of the model with the small attack angle, and with large attack angle, the action point was close to the front part of the model.

With the introduction of new technologies, ground weapons have led to the development of artificial intelligence and the attention of major developed countries. In this study, CFD was performed through the BLU-103 model to obtain aerodynamic data for aircraft that are subjected to rotational motion. To simulate the steady-state of a rotating body, the body was fixed and the principle of rotating the body by rotating the surrounding air was used. In order to examine the aerodynamic feasibility of the rotating aircraft, the analysis was carried out at intervals of $30^{\circ}$ angle from $0^{\circ}$ to $90^{\circ}$ for the simple shape and the side slip angle. It was confirmed that the drag coefficient for the simple model satisfies the quantitative results of 1.0 ~ 1.2 through CD presented in "Drag Book". The aerodynamic data was constructed by applying the valid input verified through the simple type analysis conditions to the actual shape, and the tendency was analyzed. The analysis confirmed that CX, CZ and CY increase not only in the simple model but also in the rotation of the actual model. Especially, the influence of CZ was judged to have contributed to the flight.
