High Control of Induction Motor Drive using Multi Adaptive Fuzzy Controller (다중 적응 퍼지제어기를 이용한 유도전동기 드라이브의 고성능 제어)

  • The field oriented control of induction motors is widely used in high performance applications. However, detuning caused by parameter disturbance still limits the performance of these drives. In order to accomplish variable speed operation conventional PI-like controllers are commonly used. These controllers provide limited good performance over a wide range of operation even under ideal field oriented conditions. This paper is proposed adaptive fuzzy controller(AFC) and artificial neural network(ANN) based on the vector controlled induction motor drive system. Also, this paper is proposed control of speed and current using fuzzy adaptation mechanism(FAM), AFC and estimation of speed using ANN. The proposed control algorithm is applied to induction motor drive system using FAM, AFC and ANN controller. Also, this paper is proposed the analysis results to verify the effectiveness of this controller.

  • This paper propose a development of squirrel-cage induction motor(IM) for 5-phase 1.5kW, 220V, 60Hz in order to study a polyphase ac machinery that keep hold of advantages more than traditional three-phase a IM, such as reducing a amplitude of torque pulsation, decreasing electric noises, and increasing the reliability. Designed methods of the motor use a development tools with Maxwell 2D and Simplorer program. There are designed drawing of manufactured frames of the IM. amplitude and waveform of the generated electromotive force, FFT analysis of harmonics within output voltages and current, and reviewing a experiment results are shown by variable output. We are presenting a design and manufacture methods for the 5-phase squirrel-cage IM.

  • This thesis proposes novel SRP-PWM(Separately Random Pulse Position PWM) techniques and novel two-phase switching pattern applied to four-switch inverter, having various advantages such as operation time decrease that is required for decrease of switching damage, easy of implementation and inverter control at high frequency switching. In this thesis, we wish to confirm that SRP-PWM techniques disperse harmonic spectrum of inverter output current evenly into wide frequency area, that is, side-band of specification frequency. And we confirm the harmonic reduction effect of proposed techniques. Therefore, we will achieve an experiment by IGBT inverter using DSP and will verify the validity of proposed techniques compared with simulation results that use MATLAB/SIMULINK.

  • With the advent of fast power devices, the high dv/dt voltage produced by PWM inverts have been found to cause EMI noise, shaft voltage and bearing current. This paper describes the application of newly developed Conducted EMI reduction SVPWM technique in induction motor drives. The newly developed common mode voltage reduction SVPWM technique don't use any zero-vector states for inverter control, hence it can restrict the common mode voltage more than conventional PWM technique. The validity of the proposed technique by software approach is verified through simulation and experimental results.

  • In this paper, a BLDC(Brushless DC) motor control system for driving fins to control the flight attitude of the guided artillery munition is developed. This system adopts a sensorless control scheme without any position sensor such as a Hall sensor fragile at high altitudes. The sensorless control of the BLDC motor is achieved by using commutation signals obtained from the measured pole voltages. The position control of the fin is also performed by using of the estimated speed from the commutation signals. The experimental results on the actual fin drive system demonstrated that the developed sensorless control algorithm can give an excellent position control performance.

  • The single-Phase induction motor is widely used in many light duty applications. especially in home and the office. At present, many applications which use these motor require continuously adjustable speed control. In the general, the speed control of single-phase induction motor is accomplished at a few discrete speeds by using tapped-windings, pole switching or gear. These techniques is inefficient and complicated. In this paper, auxiliary winding voltage phase angle of single-phase induction motor is used to continuously adjust electromagnetic torque. The analysis includes the determination of the relationship between the auauxiliary winding voltage phase angle and torque. Simulation results of the motor's torque-speed characteristics using the controlled auxiliary winding supply are shown and discussed. The drive is tested using a dynamometer to experimentally verify the results of the theory and simulations.

  • Genetic algorithms are powerful optimization methods based on the mechanism of natural genetics and natural selection. Genetic algorithms reduce chance of searching local optima unlike most conventional search algorithms and especially show good performances in complex nonlinear optimization problems because they do not require any information except objective function value. This paper presents a new model based on sexual reproduction in nature. In the proposed Sexual Reproduction model(SR model), individuals consist of the diploid of chromosomes, which are artificially coded as binary string in computer program. The meiosis is modeled to produce the sexual cell(gamete). In the artificial meiosis, crossover between homologous chromosomes plays an essential role for exchanging genetic informations. We apply proposed SR model to optimization of the design parameters of Single-sided Linear Induction Motor(SLIM). Sequential Unconstrained Minimization Technique(SUMT) is used to transform the nonlinear optimization problem with many constraints of SLIM to a simple unconstrained problem, We perform optimal design of SLIM available to FA conveyer systems and discuss its results.

  • Induction motor requires a rotating magnetic field for rotation. Current required to generate the rotating magnetic field is immediately magnetizing current. This magnetizing current is associated with the reactive power. Induction motor is always required reactive power. If reactive power is supplied only to the power supply side, the power factor is low. Therefore, it is to compensate the power factor by connecting capacitors in parallel to the motor terminal. If the capacitor current is greater than the magnetizing current of the motor, there is a possibility that the self-excitation occurs. High voltage generated by the self-excitation leads to insulation failure on the motor. So it is necessary to calculate the power factor correction capacitor capacity the most suitable to the extent that the magnetizing current does not exceed the capacitor current. In this study, we first computed the magnetization current and the reactive power of the induction motor and then calculates a limit of the maximum power factor by comparing the magnetizing current and the capacitor current installed in order to achieve the target power factor.

  • A surfaced permanent magnet spherical motor is capable of operating as three degree of freedom that used for the joints of the robot's arm, leg, and eyes. Ongoing research like new concept is essential part of motor field, it will make a great contribution in the future the overall portion of the motor, is becoming expected. The author analysis torque characteristics in spherical motor with state of rotating and positioning. And future design direction is smaller motors with equivalent or higher output. Solutions as torque and efficiency improvements are selecting the core with special processing type like powder metallurgy materials. Their special characteristic is high permeability and low eddy current losses at high speed, so improved the torque and efficiency.

  • In this paper, the analysis of some possibilities for increasing the induction motor efficiency is reported. This approach does not require a complete redesign of new laminations with a consistent cost in terms of investments. This paper shows the efficiency of the rectangular core types according to core-cutting-degree and compares the efficiency of the rectangular core types with the round core types. In particular, for obtaining an increase in efficiency, increase of the core axial length has been taken into consideration. The paper shows the results obtained by the finite element method(FEM) and IEEE Std. 112-96 Method B and analyzes the results to get a high efficiency for the induction motor.
