본 연구는 유니버설디자인의 개념을 활용하여 고령자, 장애인, 일반인 등에 이르기까지 다양한 사용자의 요구 및 적정 환경에 맞춘 유연한 환경을 구성할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 이는 대상별 분석에 따른 최적의 크기, 색상 등을 도출함으로써 사용자에게 알맞은 세부적인 모듈별 디자인 플랫폼을 구축함으로 보다 편리한 환경을 구현하고자 연구의 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 유니버설디자인의 이해와 욕실 현황을 살펴보았으며, 다양한 사용자별 분석으로 디자인 전개를 진행하였다. 결과물을 통해 가상환경을 조성하여 일반인과 장애인등의 다양한 사용자들에게 1,2 차에 걸쳐 사용성 평가를 실시하였다. 이에 평균 90점 대 이상의 우수한 평가를 얻었으며 이는, 기존 욕실과 비교하여 차별성을 나타내는 결과로 볼 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 다양한 사용자들에게 새로운 경험을 제공할 수 있는 모듈별 디자인 플랫폼 개발로 주거공간에서 욕실의 패러다임을 변화시키며 보다 안전하고 편안한 가정환경 조성 및 건강한 삶의 질 향상으로 이어지리라 판단한다. 향후 이러한 모듈 시스템들이 욕실 내에서만 머무르지 않으며 사람이 머무를 수 있는 다양한 주거 공간에서도 지속적으로 연구되기를 기대한다.

Modern public museums are expanding its role as general cultural facilities. Therefore, the museums that are equipped with convenient and physical environmental features for all ages and types of users are needed. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the application of universal design in common space of the museums and to recommend a set of environmental improvement plans based on which various types of users can decide their choice of museums based on available data on the museums. The scope of this research was limited to seven major public museums located in Seoul, Korea. The spatial scope that was set for this research was common space of the public museums and the scope of the content was about the applicability of universal design. As a result of the research, three major conclusions were reached. First, the application of universal design toward common space in the public museums currently was not prevalent. Second, constant management and application development of universal design are needed. Third, as museums' primary roles and functions become more diverse, a direct application of delicate universal design is a necessary prerequisite to accommodate and fulfill users' needs.

This study aimed to evaluate how universal design principles are embodied in the village community center. It will provide preliminary data on constructing a physical space of village community center as small community space in agricultural districts. To achieving the purpose in this study, the research conducted inspection using checklist to 25 village community centers at Hwasoon, Jeonnam province. The conclusion of this study is as follows: Living room and kitchen/dining room by supportive design urgently need installation of Western Style furniture and solutions of stair gap by accessible design, and also the evaluation is unsuited on a fire-gas alarm system and prevention of electric shook system on safety-oriented design. Entrance evaluated in principle for insufficient on safety handle by supportive design and spare chair by adaptable design, and also it unsuited on the solutions of door sill by accessible design and non-skid by safety-oriented design. Bathroom is insufficient lever handle and safety grip by supportive design, sink isn't suitable by adaptable design. Outdoor space information legislation staircase ramp installation and horizontal installation of the staircase was not built.

본 연구는 지하철의 실내디자인과 이용자 간의 인터페이스를 중심으로 가시적, 비가시적 요인을 점검하고 작동이나 효용으로서의 설비 및 구조와 함께 시지각적 내용을 분석하였다. 구체적으로는 필요조건에 대한 진단과 개선 방향을 실증적으로 제안하였다. 이용자의 가치 및 의식과 행태를 반영한 지하천의 실내디자인은 이용자의 잠재요구와 심리적 만족이 고려된 유니버설디자인 개념의 적용으로 접근되어야 한다. 차량의 실내배치는 인간공학과 심리학 등의 전문분야의 학제적 접근으로 시설의 조건이 규정되고, 공간의 이용 및 승객의 행태분석에 의한 동선의 유도와 배려로써 이루어져야 이에 대한 종합계획이 재정립되고 기본지침과 매뉴얼, 요구사항에 대한 지속적인 평가가 이룩되어야 한다.

The Korean society is recently becoming the aging society at an unprecedentedly rapid speed. Following the increase of the older population, their needs for special care is also rocketing. However, due to the increase of working women, nuclear-families, and old persons living alone, new facilities for the elderly such as nursing home are urgently needed. Thus, many nursing homes for the elderly are also rapidly providing. It is needed to examine if such nursing homes are properly designed for the dependent elderly to live. This study was carried out by the field observation using a checking sheet with measuring and taking photograph. The subjects were 12 nursing homes which gave positive responses for walking through their facilities. The items for observing and measuring were made based on the regulation on improving the facilities for the disabled, the elderly, and the pregnant. Whether each item fits the regulation or not was examined. The 9 areas in each nursing home were examined : entrance, hallway and corridor, stair, elevator, ramp, bed room, shower and locker room, bathroom, and rest room. It was founded that many accessible-related items were met. However, many supportive-related items such as ones for the visual disabled, and many supportive-related and accessible-related ones for bathroom, shower room, and restroom were unmet. In the process of this research, it was founded that the tool for evaluating the design of nursing home in terms of universal design should be developed.

This study was intended to suggest that new small-sized apartment houses should be designed and provided on the base of the concept of universal design. This is based on the diversity of each resident, that is, resident of not as a family, but as an individual. On the background of this, this study evaluated the small-sized apartment house in aspects of universal design. The walk-through and the residents' evaluation were carried out by using 60 items related to the principles of universal design. The 18 pyung apartment complex and housing unit in Jangyou new town area was evaluated. Also, 100 residents living in that apartment housing unit were asked to evaluate these 60 items by using 5 point Likert scale. The walk-through with measuring and taking pictures was carried out by researchers. In general, the apartment house was not met the fundamental elements of universal design. Thus, it was not appropriate for the disabled or the elderly to live in. Specially, the door width of bathroom and kitchen balcony was too narrow to pass through. Also, the floor of entrance and bathroom was not flat, so that the wheelchair user cannot enter by alone. The residents evaluated negatively many items related to design, such as shape, color, and material. Therefore, in order to provide the living environments for diverse residents such as the elderly, or the disabled to live together, the new small-sized apartment houses should be designed on the base of the principles of universal design.

The quality of apartment houses has been gradually upgraded. However the changes in demographic composition of residents such as seniors, disabled persons, and etc. have not been considered in the process of planning. If apartment houses are designed on the base of the concept of universal design, their residents could live as long as they want to live in. This study evaluates the Korean standard-sized apartment housing units and the common spaces of those apartment buildings, and it's outdoor environments from the perspective of universal design. The observation and measuring was conducted with the questionnaire survey with 100 residents living in those housing units. 60 items were designed for evaluating them in relation to the principles of universal design. The results are as follows : 1) In general, the principles of universal design were relatively applied to the apartment houses. However their application needs to be broadened. 2) The number of parking lots needs to be increased and the width of individual parking lot to be increased. Also, the location of gazebo and senior center needs to be placed in easily accessible areas. 3) The shape, color, finishes of the ramp and the entrance area of the apartment building and housing unit should be made more homelike. Also, the entrance area of apartment building and housing unit needs to be made large enough for residents themselves and meeting with neighbors. 4) Among all of the rooms in a housing unit, bathroom should be improved immediately. Also, the width of doors should be at least 80cm wide and the floor should be made even.

최근 전 세계적으로 기존의 교통약자에 대한 배려보다는 장애 유무나 연령 등에 관계없이 모든 사람들이 제품, 건축물, 환경, 서비스 등을 보다 편하고 안전하게 이용할 수 있도록 설계하는 유니버설디자인 개념이 도입되고 있다. 도시철도역사의 경우 도시생활의 거점이 되는 중요한 시설이며, 다양한 이용자(임산부, 고령자, 장애인, 유아 등)가 존재하기 때문에 유니버설디자인 개념을 도입한 시설 정비는 중요하다. 본 연구는 국토 교통과학기술진흥원의 "도시철도역사 이용객 편의성 향상 기술 개발" 과제의 일부로 5개년도 중 마지막 연차 과제로 UD 기반의 시설물 편의성 평가 기준 및 방법을 개발하고 테스트베드역을 선정하여 이용자 편의성 향상을 평가하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 도시철도역사 시설물의 UD 원칙(평가기준)을 수립하고, UD 적용성을 평가할 수 있는 평가기준 및 체크리스트를 공간별로 개발하고, 해당 평가방법론의 실제 적용을 위해 테스트베드역사(수서역)를 3차년도에 선정, 4차년도에 UD 설계기준을 적용하여 개선한 후 5차년도(현재)에 UD 기반 테스트베드 역사 편의성 향상을 점검하고자 하였다. 테스트베드역사(수서역)의 UD 가이드라인 개선 전/후 현장 조사 수행 후 공동연구기관/철도운영기관/전문가를 대상으로 5점 리커트 척도로 평가한 결과 약 50.3%의 편의성 향상을 보였다. 또한 UD 원칙에 따른 적용 여부를 평가한 결과 개선 전 평균 약 1.8점 ${\rightarrow}$ 개선 후 4.2점으로 약 48.7% 개선되어 전체적으로 UD 가이드라인의 설계기준이 잘 적용된 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 제시한 UD 기반 평가기준 및 방법론은 향후 도시철도역사 시설물의 UD 적용 여부를 평가하는 정량적인 방법으로 향후 도시철도역사 UD 가이드라인 적용에 따른 평가시 활용 가능할 것으로 판단되어진다.

Lately construction companies are differentiating the outdoor spaces of apartment complexes to satisfy the needs of residents by providing underground parking area and variety of outdoor community spaces. Building walking networks through residential unit area, the major passage area and the entrance area of the complexes is very important factor to increase the use of the outdoor environment in the complexes. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the characteristics and the elements for the planning of exterior pedestrian spaces carefully through the analysis of current large-scale apartment complexes. In this study, the utilization of space, the connectivity to other spaces and the application of Universal design were evaluated through site visits in 5 large-scale apartment complexes. As a result, the utilization of space is well applied in the most of complexes especially in residential unit area. The connectivity to other spaces has low application compared to the others. Universal design is also well applied except sub criteria for the blind in most of complexes. This study will be able to help in providing better exterior pedestrian environment for residents in apartment complexes.

의료용 컬러 그래픽 연구는 의료용 로봇의 생산 시대를 통해 회사 제품의 디자인 품질을 세계적으로 확대하고 보급하는 기반이 될 것이다. 본 연구에서는 의료 로봇 침대 확대 시대에 걸맞은 기술과 내용, 유니버셜 의료색 적용, 인체공학적 색채 등을 기반으로 하였다. 이와 함께 유니버셜 디자인의 관점에서 의료용 침대 로봇의 색채 연구방향을 제시하였다. 이에 따라, 국내업체에서 개발 중인 의료용 로봇의 기능을 사례로 하여 유니버셜 컬러 설계를 제안하였다. 이 로봇 침대의 특성은 기능별로 3가지로 구분할 수 있는 바, 첫째는 치유성(Curative)으로 욕창 예방을 위한 치료 특성을, 두 번째는 의료 환경을 위한 청결성(Clean)으로 시트 자동교환을, 세 번째는 편의성(Convenient)으로 환자이송을 구현하는 기능을 갖는 것으로 파악된다. 본론으로 이에 적합한 기능 색채의 조합을 제시하였다. 결과적으로 제시한 색채분석 및 유니버설 컬러설계 기법이 첨단 의료용 로봇 침대의 외형과 기능을 잘 표현하는 데 유용한 방법론이 될 수 있을 것이다.
