  • The eletrochemical behavior of light lanthanide complexes has been investigated by several electrochemical techniques in alkaline solutions. The composition of the complexes was determined by spectrophotometric method to be 1 : 1 and reduction mechanism was two steps 1 electron transfer reaction. The half wave potential of first peak depended on pH and cathodic current showed remarkably adsorptive properties. The results of DC and CV investigation demonstrated the quise-reversible nature of the electron transfer. The anion radical formed after first one electron reduction process, dimerizes to form dimer. The apparent irreversible behavior of the second wave is a result of the existence of a fast protonation following the second electron transfer. An exhaustive electrolysis was carried out at controlled potential of -1.80 V, deep blue color of the solution became progressively weaker, and then the solution became colorless solution. The final product of an exhaustive electrolysis is electro-inactive. The appearance of four steps may be explained by the fact the reduction of Ln-OCP elucidated ECEC mechanism.

A Proposed Private Blockchain System for Preserving Evidence of False Internet Communications (인터넷 허위통신 신고의 증거물 보존을 위한 프라이빗 블록체인 시스템 제안)

  • Allowing only authorized users to record and inquire in the ledger, private blockchain technology is attracting attention from institutions and companies. Based on distributed ledger technology, records are immutable. Because news via the Internet can be easily modified, the possibility of manipulation is high. Some false communication report systems are designed to prevent such harm. However, during the gap between the false communication report and verification time, contents on the website can be modified, or false evidence can be submitted intentionally. We propose a system that collects evidence using a headless browser for more accurate false communication management, and securely preserves evidence through a private blockchain and prevents possibilities of manipulation. The proposed system downloads original HTML, captures the website as an image, stores it in a transaction along with the report, and stores it in a private blockchain to ensure the integrity from acquisition to preservation of evidence.

  • Radioactive isotopes for radiation diagnosis is production by using Cyclotron like a PET. Radioactive isotopes is influenced product yield according to shape and size of the proton beam and target irradiation position by cyclotron. And to develop a device for measuring the distribution of the beam to increase the loss of the beam. Beam measuring device is measured vertically beam current according move the two wires. In this way, by using the beam current value in each position you are able to know the cross section and location information of the beam. By scanning cross-section for X-axis Y-axis of beam acquires data of beam. Print this into 2D graph, and analyze the result. You can save this result by documentation process.

  • HIF-2α is a transcription factor activated mainly in hypoxic condition known to play crucial roles in a wide variety of pathophysiological events including cancer, metabolic syndrome, arthritis etc. In this context, a number of N'-aryl isonicotinolyhydrazides, in which known pharmacophores are included, have been selected from commercial chemical library and tested for the inhibitory activities targeting HIF-2α in cultured HTB94 cell. HRE-luciferase and HIF-2α were introduced into the cell by transfection and adenoviri infection, respectively and the reporter gene assay discovered the potency of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthyl structure. Accordingly, the scaffold has been adjusted based on this structure and subjected to anti-HIF-2α activity test, identifying 2 compounds as HIF-2α inhibitors. The activities were confirmed by false positive test. This study has been performed via the convergence of biology and chemistry and the results may be useful for discovering novel inhibitors and HIF-2α biology studies, and contribute to the development of therapeutic agents.

Preparation of Coating Film with Antibacterial and Antifogging Function on PET Substrate (PET 기재 위에 항균성과 김서림 방지 기능을 갖는 코팅 도막 제조)

  • In this study, silver nanoparticles were synthesized by reducing silver nitrate with PVA, and the solution prepared by adding carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) to the silver nanoparticles was coated on a PET substrate to prepare a coating film with antibacterial and antifogging function. When the coating films were in contact with water vapor at 80 ℃, the uncoated PET substrate was blurred due to the scattering of light due to the occurrence of fog, while the coating film coated with silver nanosol with CMC remained transparent despite contact with water vapor, showing excellent antifogging function. In addition, the antibacterial properties of the coating films were measured by film adhesion method for Staphylococcus aureus, gram-positive bacteria, and Escherichia coli, gram-negative bacteria. The uncoated PET substrate showed a large number of colonies of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, while the coating film coated with the silver nanosol greatly inhibited the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, resulting in excellent antibacterial effect.

  • 최근 드론 및 ICT 융·복합기술은 산업 전반에 걸쳐 새로운 대안을 제시하고 있으며, 종전의 산업은 데이터 생성·가공·활용의 효율성, 경제성, 안전성 등의 장점을 들어 빠른 속도로 관련 ICT와 의 접목을 시도해 왔다. 이를 통해 과거의 기술과 방식에서는 찾아보기 힘들었던 다양한 형태의 결과물을 제시하는 등 데이터 기반의 4차산업혁명이 선도하는 변화가 곳곳에서 일어나고 있다. 국토교통부에서는 2018년부터 중앙·지자체·공공기관 소속직원을 대상으로 드론 조종인력 양성사업을 시작으로 2019년 국방·치안·환경·안전·측량 등 10개 분야에 드론 활용 임무특화교육을 진행해왔으며, 2020년도에는 시설물 점검, 불법행위 추적 감시, 수자원 관리 등으로 교육 분야 추가하는 등 활용범위를 확대해나가고 있다. 경기도 안전관리실(안전특별점검단)에서는 이러한 국가정책의 방향에 맞춰 새로운 기술과 융합을 시도하고자 2020년부터 '드론 등을 활용한 시설물 안전점검 고도화 연구'를 시작으로 절토사면 및 옹벽 등 시설물 안전점검과 하천 및 우수저류지의 유지관리에 ICT 융·복합 기술 및 분석용 S/W 등을 적용하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 드론 및 LiDAR 등을 활용하여 하천, 배수로, 우수저류지 등에 대해 공공관리주체가 실시할 수 있는 유지관리점검 및 현황분석 방법에 관한 것으로서 「하천법」, 「자연재해대책법」, 「시설물의 안전 및 유지관리 실시 세부지침」, 「우수유출저감시설의 종류·구조·설치 및 유지관리 기준」 등에서 정한 사항에 대해 적용하였다. 이를 통해 하천, 우수저류지 등 수공구조물의 홍수위 변동성 평가, 홍수조절부 용량검토 등 홍수방어 능력에 대한 유지관리 차원의 공공관리주체 역할을 강화하는 제도적 측면을 검토하고, 드론, LiDAR 등의 ICT 융·복합 기술 활용 확대를 통해 예산절감 및 공공안전 강화에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Determination of false positives in PCR diagnostics based on the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) of Gyrodactylus salaris using RFLP (RFLP를 이용한 Gyrodactylus salaris의 internal transcribed spacer(ITS) PCR 위양성 판별)

  • The World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) recommends two protocols (ITS and COI) for conventional PCR of G. salaris diagnosis. However, ITS PCR protocol may yield false-positive results, leading to unnecessary countermeasures. It's difficult to distinguish between G. salaris and false-positive by similar amplicon size of PCR, since the amplicon size of ITS PCR in G. salaris and false-positive was 1,300 and 1,187 bp, respectively. The nucleotide sequences of ITS false-positive in rainbow trout is 99.7% identical to previously reported host genome sequences of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and 95.3 to 89.1% identical to those of other salmonid fish species. To reduce false-positive PCR band, PCR was performed by the different annealing temperature, but PCR bands were still detected. In RFLP analysis by HaeIII, the PCR product of G. salaris was digested into four bands of 512, 399, 234 and 154 bp, while the false-positive was digested into seven bands of 297, 263, 242, 144, 93, 80 and 68 bp. In the RFLP patterns digested by HindIII, G. salaris showed two bands of 659 and 640 bp, while false-positive had one fragment of 1,187 bp without any digestion. Therefore, the RFLP method of ITS PCR with HaeIII and HindIII can be used for differentiation between G. salaris and false-positive. These results might provide important information on the improvement of PCR diagnostic method of G. salaris.

Radiologic Diagnosis of Gastrointestinal Bleeding (위장관 출혈의 영상의학적 진단법)

  • Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding is not a single disease but a symptom and clinical manifestation of a broad spectrum of conditions in the GI tract. According to its clinical presentation, GI bleeding can be classified into overt, occult, and obscure types. Additionally, it can be divided into upper and lower GI bleeding based on the Treitz ligament. Variable disease entities, including vascular lesions, polyps, neoplasms, inflammation such as Crohn's disease, and heterotopic pancreatic or gastric tissue, can cause GI bleeding. CT and conventional angiographies and nuclear scintigraphy are all radiologic imaging modalities that can be used to evaluate overt bleeding. For the work-up of occult GI bleeding, CT enterography (CTE) can be the first imaging modality. For CTE, an adequate bowel distention is critical for obtaining acceptable diagnostic performance as well as minimizing false positives and negatives. Meckel's scintigraphy can be complementarily useful in cases where the diagnosis of CTE is suboptimal. For the evaluation of obscured GI bleeding, various imaging modalities can be used based on clinical status and providers' preferences.

Studies and Real-World Experience Regarding the Clinical Application of Artificial Intelligence Software for Lung Nodule Detection (폐결절 검출 인공지능 소프트웨어의 임상적 활용에 관한 연구와 실제 사용 경험)

  • This article discusses studies and real-world experiences related to the clinical application of artificial intelligence-based computer-aided detection (AI-CAD) software (LuCAS-plus, Monitor Corporation) in detecting pulmonary nodules. During clinical trials for lung cancer screening, AI-CAD exhibited performance comparable to that of medical professionals in terms of sensitivity and specificity. Studies revealed that applying AI-CAD for diagnosing pulmonary metastases led to high detection rates. The use of a nodule matching algorithm in diagnosing pulmonary metastases significantly reduced false non-metastasis results. In clinical settings, implementing AI-CAD enhanced the efficiency of pulmonary nodule detection, saving time and effort during CT reading. Overall, AI-CAD is expected to offer substantial support for lung cancer screening and the interpretation of chest CT scans for malignant tumor surveillance.

  • This study aimed at characterizing policy directions to foster competent medical technologists by analyzing the opinions of professors and medical technologists regarding university education and national licensing systems. An online survey questionnaire was distributed to 255 professors and 4,000 medical technologists in August of 2016. Fifty-nine professors (23%) and 1,099 medical technologists (27.7%) responded to the survey. The results were evaluated using descriptive statistics and comparative analysis. Professors and medical technologists agreed that there needs to be an improvement and standardization in both education at universities and practical training at hospitals. Moreover, both groups also thought that it was necessary to reform practical examinations and make improvements in the current licensing system. According to the survey results, professors and medical technologists thought that, the improvement of the quality of university education and hospital practical training should be essential, and the reform of existing national licensing examination should be necessary.
