한국 청소년의 구강보건행태와 치과의료이용과의 연관성 (The relationship between oral health behavior and dental services utilization in Korean adolescents)

  • Objectives : This study examined the oral health behavior and dental services utilization of adolescents in order to provide information on how to disseminate the correct oral health behavior to the youth and develop programs for the approach. Methods : The raw data of 'The Third 2007 Youth Health Behavior Online Survey' carried out by the Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention were analyzed. All survey data collected was processed using SPSS ver 17.0 for data analysis as Frequency analysis, chi-square and Logistic regression analysis. Results : 1.The adolescents who have parents with college degree are 70% higher of dental services utilization than the adolescents counterpart(whose parents don't have degrees). And also the adolescents living in cities are 1.3 times higher use of dental services than others living in countries. 2. In case of drinking soda, students having soda 4 days per week on average are 1.2 times higher use of dental services than who don't. 3.The students brushing teeth after lunch are 0.9 times lower use of dental service than who don't. And the students who have tooth ache whenever they have a meal are 1.6 times higher use of dental service than the students who don't have tooth ache. The students who had a dental health education are 1.4 times higher utilization of dental service than who don't. The difference of using dental service between the students who have gum disease and halitosis and the students who don't is almost none. 4. The students who drink alcohol and smoke 10 days more or less a month are 0.8 ~ 0.9 times lower use of dental service than who don't. Conclusions : The rate of utilizing dental service is higher at students who live with parents having college degrees and the more have oral health behavior, the less use of dental service for treatment. We concluded that more educational program should be developed and vitalized so that students can have oral health.

근로자와 한국성인의 구강건강 행태 분석 (A analysis on oral health behaviors of workers and Korean adults)

  • Objectives : Oral care is important for workers and Korean adults to improve the quality of life and perform economic activities. This study was conducted to prepare the basic data to establish the management system for adult oral health by looking into characteristics by ages and the genders questingly. Methods : Oral health examination was conducted on workers in 2009 in the city of Gwangju and Chonnam province. This analysis was extracted using SPSS(SPSS 12.0 for windows, SPSS Inc, Chicago, USA). Results : Among the study respondents, 39.5% workers and 47.7% Korean adults answered their subjective oral health is not good, but there was no statistically significant difference between them(p< $0.001^{***}$). 39.9% workers and 2 0.6% Korean adults were smokers, and they showed a statistically significance in the ages and genders (p< $0.001^{***}$). 91.2 %workers and 49.8% Korean adults brushed their teeth before going to bed, and they showed a statistically significance in the ages and genders(p< $0.001^{***}$). In terms of the gender, male workers and Korean female adults showed high frequency of use, and both workers and Korean adults aged 18-24 showed high frequency with regard to the age. Regarding the use of oral care items, 36.0% workers and 16.9% Korean adults used them, and a statistical significance was shown in both the gender and age(p< $0.001^{***}$). In terms of the gender, female workers and Korean female adults showed high frequency of use and in terms of the age, 45-54 age bracket workers and 30-34age bracket Korean adults used the items frequently. 28.0% workers and 30.7% Korean adults answered that their mastication among oral functions is uncomfortable, and 8.8% workers and 6.5% Korean adults responded that it is hard to pronounce. They were statistically significant in the gender and age(p< $0.001^{***}$). Workers and Korean female adults expressed their mastication discomfort and men expressed that they have a difficulty in pronouncing. In terms of the age, the 54-64 age bracket workers and Korean adults express their inconvenience of mastication and pronunciation. Conclusions : According to the above findings, it needs to build the economical and efficient adult oral health care system in order to enhance both workers and Korean adults' oral health.

납 및 카드뮴의 노출과 치아우식증 발생요인과의 관련성 (The exposure of lead and cadmium and the dental caries)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the appearance of having relationship between the exposure to lead and cadmium and the dental caries targeting adults in the Republic of Korea. Methods : The study was designed as a cross-sectional study, using the data of the Fourth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The subjects as 1,966 people, who were confirmed the appearance of dental caries among 1,991 people of having been offered the heavy-metal concentration in blood. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 19.0, according to complex sampling design. Results : As a result of multi-variate analysis on factors of dental caries, in Model I without correction, the gender, age, educational level, appearance of lifelong smoking, daily toothbrushing frequency, appearance of using dental floss, and subjective oral health status were recognized as important factors. In Model II with correction of gender and age, the educational level, daily toothbrushing frequency, and subjective oral health status were recognized as statistically significant factors. In Model III with correction of all factors, the gender, age, educational level, appearance of using dental floss, and subjective oral health status were functioning as statistically significant factors. As a result of statistically analyzing relationship between the exposure to lead and cadmium and the dental caries targeting adults, it was analyzed that there is no significant correlation. However, in case of lead, the tendency of being grown the cross ratio of dental caries could be examined in model I, which didn't correct disturbance factor, model II, which corrected gender and age, and model III, which corrected all variables of disturbance factor. Conclusions : The exposure to lead and cadmium was indicated to have no relationship with adults' dental caries. However, a continuous research of relationship was considered to be necessary by using Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, which is surveyed in the future.

당뇨와 지역사회치주지수의 관련성: 제5기 국민건강영양조사 (The association between diabetes mellitus and community periodontal index: The 5th Korean National Health and Nutrition examination survey)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to examine the association between diabetes mellitus and community periodontal index in Korean adults. Methods: The study populations were recruited by the Fifth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Study subjects were 10,411 who were examined oral examination, blood test, and aged over 19 years. Using multiple logistic regression analyses, the variables were adjusted for gender, age, household income, family history of diabetes, body mess index, smoking habit, and frequency of tooth brushing. Periodontal tissue examination of the subjects was performed and scored by Community periodontal index(CPI). Using probe, six teeth were examined for hemorrhage, plaque, and pocket depth and classified into $CPI_0$, $CPI_1$, $CPI_2$, $CPI_3$ and $CPI_4$. Healthy periodontal groups($CPI_{0-2}$) and periodontal disease groups($CPI_{3-4}$) were divided by the periodontal disease status. The definition of diabetes mellitus(DM) was decided by the diagnosis by the doctors and fasting blood sugar level. Those who were diagnosed as DM were included in DM group. The DM variables included normal blood sugar level, increased fasting blood sugar level, and DM blood sugar level. The DM variables were compared to periodontal disease blood sugar level and analyzed. Results: The periodontitis prevalence rate was 23.2%. Those who had diabetes mellitus accounted for 5.5% of the subjects. Those who had impaired fasting glucose accounted for 17.7% and 7.9% of subjects were diabetes mellitus by blood test. In the confirmed diabetes group by doctor, the periodontitis prevalence rate was significantly higher than the non-diabetic group. Diabetic group by blood test had the highest prevalence rate of periodontitis than those who had impaired fasting glucose group or normal group. After adjusting for gender, age, household income, family history of diabetes, body mass index, smoking habit, and frequency of tooth brushing, the risk of periodontitis in diagnosed diabetes mellitus was 1.57 times(95% CI; 1.27-1.94) higher than the normal group. In impaired fasting glucose group and diabetes mellitus group by blood test, the risk of periodontitis was 1.11 times(95% CI; 0.95-1.30) and 1.45 times(95% CI; 1.45-2.12) higher, respectively. Conclusions: There was a significant relationship between diabetes mellitus and periodontitis in Korean adults. These results suggest that diabetes mellitus is a risk factor for periodontitis.

감마선 조사에 의한 튀김어묵의 품질보존 (Preservation of Fried Fish Meat Paste by Irradiation)

  • 튀김어묵의 위생적인 유통과 보존기간 연장을 목적으로 시료에 0-5kgy 범위에 감마선을 조사한 뒤 $3{\pm}1^{\circ}C$의 저온과 $10{\sim}20^{\circ}C$의 실온에 저장하면서 변패의 원인이 되고 있는 미생물의 살균효과와 저장중 생육상태 및 어묵의 품질에 관련된 이화학적 특성변화를 검토하였다. 튀김어묵의 초기 미생물 오염도는 총세균 $2.2{\times}10^3/g, 효모 및 곰팡이가 $2.8{\times}10^2/g, 대장균군이 $1.0{\times}10^2/g$ 수준이었으나 3kGy 정도의 감마선 조사로서 감균효과가 우수하였고 공기포장과 탈기포장간의 차이는 현저하지 않았다. 저장중 시료의 pH, TBA가 휘발성 염기질소량의 변화는 조사고와 비조사구가 유사한 경향이거나 저장기간의 경과에 따라 조사구가 다소 우수하였으며, 적정선량 조사는 시료의 texture에 영향을 주지 않았다. 저장기간 중 진공포장된 시료의 관능시험 결과에서 3kGy의 감마선 조사는 비조사구에 비해 튀김어묵의 신선도를 실온에서는 약 2배, 저온에서는 $3{\sim}4$배 정도 연장시킬 수 있었다.

피부미용사의 직무환경 및 직업존중감이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Job Environment and Job Esteem on Job Satisfaction in Skin Beauticians)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 피부미용업 종사자들의 직무만족도에 대해 직무환경 및 직업존중감이 미치는 영향을 연구하고자 서울 및 경기지역 피부미용실에 재직중인 20~50대 성인 여성 470여명을 대상으로 피부미용사의 특성 및 직무환경, 직업존중감, 직무만족도를 분석하였다. 첫째, 피부미용사들의 직무환경이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보면, 직무만족도의 하위요인 직업적 긍지 만족도, 소속감 및 기여도, 임금 및 복지에 상대적으로 높은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 피부관리샵의 휴게시설이나 휴식공간을 적절히 보장하고, 안전 및 위생관리를 철저히 하는 등 근무조건을 개선해야 함을 시사한다. 둘째, 직업존중감이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보면, 독립변수별로 사회적 평가, 자기(내재적)평가, 미래가치, 자아성취지향이 높아지면 직무만족도의 하위요인들이 상승하는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 피부관리사의 사회적 인식을 제고할 수 있도록 전문가로서 대우하는 것이 중요한 요인임을 시사한다. 직무환경의 하위요인인 근무조건, 조직환경, 직업안정성과 직업존중감의 하위요인인 사회적 평가, 자기(내재적)평가, 미래가치, 자아성취지향이 직무만족도의 하위요인에 각각 중요한 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타나, 직무만족도를 높이기 위해서는 직무환경 하위요인들의 전반적인 개선과 더불어 직업존중감의 현재가치에 해당하는 사회적평가, 자기(내재적)평가, 자아성취지향은 물론 미래가치 역시 중요한 요인임을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 연구결과를 통해 피부미용실 경영자들이 피부미용사의 직무만족도를 높이기 위한 인력관리방안의 기초자료를 제공하여 피부미용업 발전에 기여하고자 한다.

성인의 골밀도와 잔존치아수와의 관련성 (Relationship between bone mineral density and the remaining teeth in Korean adults)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between bone mineral density and remaining teeth in Korean adults. Methods: Using National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES) 5th Year 1(2010), 1,985 adults over 50 years old having bone mineral density test were selected. Male adults were 883, and female adults were 1,102. The raw data consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, bone density data, and oral examination data. The questionnaire consisted of general health survey, laboratory examination study, and nutrition study. Data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 program for multiple regression analysis, ANOVA, t-test. The variables included general characteristics of the subjects, health behavior, diet habit, and oral health behavior. General characteristics consisted of gender, age, residence area, education level, marital status, monthly income, and vocation. Health behavior consisted of smoking, alcohol drinking, body mass index(BMI), physical activity, and mental health. Diet habit consisted of frequency of meal, milk, coffee, and calcium ingestion. Oral health behavior consisted of frequency of tooth brushing, use of oral health care devices, and oral examination. Systemic diseases were measured by the questionnaire for hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and hyperlipidemia. Bone density was measured in T-score of femoral bone, neck of femur, and lumbar vertebrae. Bone density was classified into normal($T-score{\geq}-1.0$), osteopenia(-2.5 < T-score < -1.0), and osteoporosis ($T-score{\leq}-2.5$). The remaining teeth were measured by the differences between normal teeth and missing teeth. Results: Smoking and age are the most influencing factors on the number of remaining teeth and bone density(p<0.01)(p<0.05). Those who had higher bone density, younger age, and nonsmoker significantly had more remaining teeth. Those who were men, diabetic, lowly educated women, and low birth weighted persons tended to have less number of teeth(p<0.01). Conclusions: The study suggested that there were significant differences between men and women according to the oral health management behavior and systemic disease control. Proper management of the oral health and good quality of bone mineral density can reserve the remaining teeth through the whole life.

감마선을 조사한 간장의 미생물 및 일반품질 특성 (Changes in Microbiological and General Quality Characteristics of Gamma Irradiated Kanjang and Shoyu)

  • 간장의 미생물 관점에서의 보존성 향상 및 살균을 목적으로 양조간장과 한식간장에 5, 10, 20 kGy의 선량으로 감마선을 조사하고 상온에 18주간 보존하면서 간장의 미생물 및 일반품질 변화를 조사하였다. 간장의 Bacillus는 10kGy의 감마선 조사에 의하여 5 log cycle 이상 제거되었으며 효모와 젖산균은 5 kGy의 선량에서도 완전 사멸에 가까운 살균효과를 보였다. 간장 보존 중의 일반품질 평가 요소인 총질소, 아미노산성질소, 중성단백분해효소 활성, pH등은 감마선 조사에 의하여 영향을 받지 않았고 보존기간 중에도 안정적인 품질 수준을 유지하였다. 간장의 갈색도는 감마선 조사 직후에 낮아졌으나 보존 2주 이후부터는 비조사구의 수준으로 환원되었다. 감마선을 조사한 간장은 관능적으로도 안정된 품질 수준을 유지하였다. 따라서 감마선 조사는 간장의 보존?유통 및 가공에서 위생화 및 미생물적, 이화학적, 관능적 품질을 유지하는데 유용한 방법이 될 수 있을 것으로 평가되었다.

남해안 어류양식장 해수 및 양식어류의 위생지표세균 및 병원성세균 조사 (Survey of Sanitary Indicative Bacteria and Pathogenic Bacteria in Fish Farms on the Southern Coast of Korea)

  • The distributions of sanitary indicative bacteria and pathogenic bacteria in seawater and four species of farmed fishes, including oliver flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus), black rock fish (Sebastes schlegeli), red sea bream (Pagrus major) and sea bass (Lateolabrax japonicus), collected at fish farms located in the southern coastal area of Korea were investigated from May to October in 2004. The detection rates of fecal coliform and Entirococcus spp. of sanitary indicative bacteria in all samples were $38.9\%$ and $23.8\%$, respectively. The occurrence of fecal coliform was highest of $58.3\%$ in Busan, Geoje and Wando area, followed Yeosu $33.3\%$, Jeju $12.5\%$, Tongyeong $11.1\%$. The occurrence of Enterococcus spp. was highest In Wando area ($45.8\%$), followed by Yeosu ($33.3\%$), Tongyeong ($22.2\%$), Busan ($16.7\%$), Geoje and Jeju ($12.5\%$). The detection rate of fecal coliform was higher than that of Enterococcus spp., except in the Tongyeong area. There was no difference in the detection rate of fecal coliform from May to October, but the detection rate of Enterococcus spp. increased with seasonal warming seawater temperature. Among the pathogenic bacteria, the detection rate of Vibrio alginolyticus ($49.2\%$) in all samples was highest, followed by V. parahaemolyticus ($36.5\%$), Staphylococcus aureus ($6.3\%$), Salmonella sp. ($2.4\%$). However, V cholerae, V. vulnificus and Shigella sp. were not detected in all tested samples. The detection rates of V. parahaemolyticus and V. alginolyticus increased with seasonal warming seawater temperature from May to August.

군납 농산물 중 유기염소계 농약의 잔류량 (Monitoring Program of Organochlorine Pesticide Residues in Agricultural Products Provided for the Army)

  • 본 실험은 1998년 1월부터 2001년 12월가지 4년간 경기도와 인천지역에 납품된 군납 농산물 17종(배추, 무, 오이, 감자, 사과, 양파, 파, 양배추, 고추, 당근, 상추, 호박, 마늘, 미나리, 시금치, 쑥갓, 부추)을 대상으로 유기염소계 농약 10종 (BHC, captafol, captan, chlorobenzilate, chlorothalonil, DDT, dicofol, endosulfan, folpet, tetradifon)을 검사하여 군장병들의 안전성 및 보건위생상의 위해를 예방하기 위한 기초 자료로 활용하기 위하여 검사를 수행하였다. 군납 농산물 1,075건 중 유기염소계 농약이 135건(12.5%)이 검출되었으며, 그 중 2종류의 농약이 검출된 농산물은 7건으로 5.18%이었다. 군납 농산물 중 유기염소계 농약이 endosulfan(9.02%)로 가장 많이 검출되었으며, 그 뒤를 chlorothalonil(2.80%), BHC(0.46%), chlorobenzilate(0.40%), folpet(0.33%), DDT(0.28%), captafol(0.15%), captan(0.11%)으로 나타났다. dicfol과 tetradifond은 전 시료에서 검출되지 않았다. 군납 농산물에서 유기염소계 농약 10종 중 endosulfan(9.02%)외 7종이 검출되었지만, 우리 나라 잔류허용기준치와 Codex의 잔류허용기준치를 초과하는 농산물은 1건도 없었다.
