A Tree Scatternet Formation Algorithm for Reducing Average Hop Count Between Bluetooth Devices (블루투스 장치 간의 평균 홉 수를 줄이기 위한 트리 스캐터넷 형성 알고리즘)

  • The Bluetooth Scatternet based on tree structure has several merits such as small numb of links and simple routing method. This paper proposes an algorithm which satisfies the constraints of Bluetooth Specification and forms the topology of scatternet as close as the tree structure that has the shortest average inter-node distance among trees. Also we show that the proposed method reduces the average hop count between any two devices compared to early works without higher formation delay by a simulation.

Design of the Computer Generated Holographic Diffuser (컴퓨터 생성 홀로그래픽 디퓨저의 설계)

  • In this paper, computer generated holographic diffuser with high diffraction efficiency and uniformity was designed by the modified iterative Fourier transform algorithm. Newly proposed method to design a CGHD is to flip and to combine BPHs or MPHs, so it makes the computation time decreased and it makes the reconstructed signal area enlarged. The designed sixteen phase holographic diffuser had the high diffraction efficiency of 85.20%, the uniformity of 2.43%, and the average signal to noise ratio of 18.97[㏈]. Also, we compared the CGHD with a 128 level pseudo random phase diffuser about the diffraction efficiency and the uniformity. The proposed diffuser can be provided good performance for a holographic diffuser and a next-generation display device.

Printed Reflectarray Antenna Design for Parabolic Reflector Volume Reduction (파라볼릭 반사기 체적 축소용 프린트 리플렉트어레이 안테나 설계)

  • In this study, we discuss about the printed reflectarray antenna design for parabolic reflector volume reduction. For this, we simulated and measured the phase characteristics of the unit array element of reflectarray antenna using waveguide simulator. As a results, the maximum phase variation is $298^{\circ}$ by simulation, the average phase variation is $309^{\circ}$ by measurement in 10GHz. And the printed Reflectarray antenna gain is 28.3dBi, 3dB beamwidth is E-plane $5.1^{\circ}$, H-plane $5.2^{\circ}$, sidelobe level is E-plane -11.4dB, H-plane -17.6dB.

  • In this paper we derive the probability density function of the phase error of the received signal over Rician fading channel and verify its propriety as the probability density function using the zeroth moment. In general, for the error probability over fading channel we compute the error probability in the first place when it is only AWGN, and then we get the final result by averaging the first result and the probability density function of the corresponding fading channel. In this paper, however, we compute the error probability by double integration after the probability density function over fading channel is computed.

  • 본 논문에서는 마르코프 결정 문제 (Markov decision problem)의 풀이 효율을 잴 수 있는 척도를 알아보기 위해 복잡계 네트워크 (complex network) 의 관점에서 MDP를 하나의 그래프로 나타내고, 그 그래프의 위상학적 성질들을 여러 네트워크 척도 (network measurements)들을 이용하여 측정하고 그 MDP의 풀이 효율과의 관계를 분석하였다. 실세계의 여러 문제들이 MDP로 표현될 수 있고, 모델이 알려진 경우에는 평가치 반복(value iteration)이나 모델이 알려지지 않은 경우에도 강화 학습(reinforcement learning) 알고리즘등을 사용하여 풀 수 있으나, 이들 알고리즘들은 시간 복잡도가 높아 크기가 큰 실세계 문제에 적용하기 쉽지 않다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 제안된 것이 MDP를 계층적으로 분할하거나, 여러 단계를 묶어서 수행하는 등의 시간적 추상화(temporal abstraction) 방법들이다. 시간적 추상화를 도입할 경우 MDP가 보다 효율적으로 풀리는 꼴로 바뀐다는 사실에 착안하여, MDP의 풀이 효율을 네트워크 척도를 이용하여 측정할 수 있는 여러 위상학적 성질들을 기반으로 분석하였다. 다양한 구조와 파라미터를 가진 MDP들을 사용해 네트워크 척도들과 MDP의 풀이 효율간의 관계를 분석해 본 결과, 네트워크 척도들 중 평균 측지 거리 (mean geodesic distance) 가 그 MDP의 풀이 효율을 결정하는 가장 중요한 기준이라는 사실을 알 수 있었다.

Long-term Variations of Troposphere-Stratosphere Mean Meridional Circulation (대류권-성층권 평균자오면순환의 장기변동)

  • Studies of atmospheric general circulation in the troposphere and stratosphere are very important to understand the influence of human activities on the global climate and its change. Recently, the existence of an annual cycle in the circulation has been reported by a number of studies. In this study, the residual mean meridional circulation is calculated by the TEM momentum and continuity equations for the period from December 1985 to November 1995 (10 years), and the long-term variations of the circulation and mass fluxes across the 100hPa surface are examined. The multiple regression statistical model is used to obtain quantitatively the long-term variations. This study is focused especially on mean meridional circulation in the troposphere and stratosphere associated with ENSO (El Ni${\tilde{n}}$o-Southern Oscillation) which is known as a cause of the unusual weather, global climate, and its change. The results show that the global scale troposphere-stratosphere mean meridional circulation is intensified during El Ni${\tilde{n}}$o event and QBO (quasi-biennal oscillation) easterly phase and weakened during La Ni${\tilde{n}}$o event and QBO westerly phase. The signal of Mount Pinatubo volcanic eruption in June 1991 is obtained. Due to the volcanic eruption the global scale troposphere-stratosphere mean meridional circulation is abruptly intensified.

Efficient Approximation of State Space for Reinforcement Learning Using Complex Network Models (복잡계망 모델을 사용한 강화 학습 상태 공간의 효율적인 근사)

  • A number of temporal abstraction approaches have been suggested so far to handle the high computational complexity of Markov decision problems (MDPs). Although the structure of temporal abstraction can significantly affect the efficiency of solving the MDP, to our knowledge none of current temporal abstraction approaches explicitly consider the relationship between topology and efficiency. In this paper, we first show that a topological measurement from complex network literature, mean geodesic distance, can reflect the efficiency of solving MDP. Based on this, we build an incremental method to systematically build temporal abstractions using a network model that guarantees a small mean geodesic distance. We test our algorithm on a realistic 3D game environment, and experimental results show that our model has subpolynomial growth of mean geodesic distance according to problem size, which enables efficient solving of resulting MDP.

Characteristics Analysis of the Time Selective Multipath Fading Channel Model for Mobile Communication (이동 통신을 위한 시간선택성 다중경로 페이딩 채널 모델의 특성 평가)

  • 본 논문에서는 시간 선택성 다중경로 이동 무선 채널을 다양한 방법으로 모델링 하고 그에 따른 여러 가지 특성평가를 제시하였다. 모델링 방법에는 Jakes 방식과 시간 영역에서 독립적인 두 개의 가우시안 잡음 발생기와 정형필터(shaping filter)를 사용하는 방식 및 주파수 영역에서 필터링 하는 방식이 있다. 이 세 가지 모델링 방법의 성능을 진폭의 자기상관함수, 상호상관함수, 누적분포함수(Cumulative Distribution Function), 레벨 교차율(Level Crossing Rate), 평균 페이딩 지속 시간(Average Duration of Fades), 위상차의 확률 밀도, 위상차의 자기상관함수 등의 측면에서 시뮬레이션하고 그 결과치와 이론치 간의 특성 비교를 제시하였다. 특히, 확산 대역 시스템을 고려했을 때 이상적인 채널 추정을 가정한 레이크 수신기에서의 BER 성능을 다중경로 개수에 따라 보임으로써 여러 가지 채널 모델링 중에서 주파수 영역에서 필터링 하는 방식이 이동 무선 채널을 모델링 하는데 있어 가장 적합하다는 것을 보였다. 마지막으로 비대칭 도플러(Doppler) 스펙트럼을 모델링 하는 것도 주파수 영역에서 필터링 하는 방식이 편리하다.

  • This paper describes as Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry system which has been designed for measuring vibration patterns and quantitative measurement of vibration amplitude fields by using the time average method on a object. Visbility of fringe patterns is more improved by using the phase stepping and frame average method to reduce speckle and electric noise. And a bias vibration is introduced into the reference beam to shift the $\frac{2}{0}$ fringes so that fringe shift algorithms can be used to determine vibration amplitude. The experimental results are compared to those of the FFT analyzer and the FEM model analysis.

Structural Design of Piezoelectric Microactuator Using Topology Optimization (위상최적화를 이용한 압전형 마이크로 엑츄에이터의 구조설계)

  • In this study, the topology optimization is applied to the design of a piezoelectric microactuator satisfying the specific mean transduction ratio(MTR). The optimization problem is formulated to minimize the difference between the specified and the current mean transduction ratio. In order to analyze the response of the piezoelectric-structure coupled system, both the structural and the electric potential are considered in the finite element method. The optimization problem is resolved by using Sequential Linear Programming(SLP) and the results of test problems show that the design of a piezoelectric microactuator with specified mean transduction ratio can be obtained.
