Optical Wavelet POfSDF-FSJTC for Scale Invariant Pattern Recognition with Noise (잡음을 갖는 물체의 크기불변인식을 위한 광 웨이브렛 POfSDF-FSJTC)

  • In this paper, we proposed a wavelet phase-only filter modulation synthetic discriminant function joint transform correlator(WPOfSDF-JTC) for scale invariant pattern recognition, and an improved algorithm to reduce the filter synthesis time. Computer simulation showed that the proposed filter has better SNR than CWMF if input image has random noise and the improved synthesis algorithm can reduce the iteration time. We used frequency selective JTC to solve the problem of the optical alignment and eliminate the autocorrelation and crosscorrelation between each input image.

  • Real-time systems perform periodic tasks and real-time aperiodic tasks such as alarm processing. Especially the periodic tasks included in control systems such as robots have precedence relationships among them. This paper proposes a new scheduling algorithm based on topological sort and residual time. The precedence relationships among periodic tasks are translated to the priorities of the tasks using topological sort algorithm. During the execution of the system the proposed scheduling algorithm decides on whether or not a newly arrived real-time aperiodic task is accepted based on residual time whenever the aperiodic task such as alarm is arrived. The proposed algorithm is validated using examples.

  • This paper describes the extended topological clean up procedures to improve the quality of unstructured triangular meshes. As a postprocessing step, topological improvement procedures are applied both for elements that are interior to the mesh and for elements connected to the boundary and then Laplacian-like smoothing is used by default. Previous clean up algorithms are limited to eliminate the nodes of degree 3,4,8,9,10 and pairs of nodes of degree 5. In this study, new clean up algorithms which minimize the triple connection structures combined with degree 5 and 7 (ie ; 5-7-5, 7-7-5, 7-5-7 etc) are added. The suggested algorithms are applied to two example meshes to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach in improving element quality in a finite element mesh.

  • For its synergistic relationship, an integrated SDINS/GPS system has been adopted in many navigation areas. As an application of SDINS/GPS integration, the in-flight alignment process of a SDINS utilizing GPS carrier phase measurements is introduced and analyzed via an observability analysis using nul1 space method. A measurement model of double-differenced GPS carrier phase measurements is newly derived in order to be used with a SDINS error model. Also, conditions for determining the complete observability of a SDINS/GPS system are suggested and proved. Consequently, it is shown that the system is not completely observable in case of one basel me. With one baseline aligned with y-axis of body frame, pitch error and x-axis accelerometer bias are unobservable states. Also shown is that al1 states are completely observable when sequential maneuver is performed. Above results are confirmed by a covariance analysis.

  • Computer code was developed to design waveguide gratings based on coupled-mode equations and the transfer matrix formalism. The experimental set-up has been constructed for inscribing Bragg gratings in planar waveguides with a phase mask and uv laser beam, which enables alignment and packaging of grating devices as well as in-situ performance measurements. Bragg grating has been fabricated on silica planar waveguides with 0.75% Germanium concentration and its transmittance spectrum was measured to have 95% reflectance at the peak wavelength. Optical losses as the function of the misalignment were measured and their usage is described.

  • 단백질의 기능은 단백질의 구조에 따라 결정되며, 새로운 단백질의 기능을 파악하기 위하여 이미 밝혀진 단백질의 기능과 구조를 비교하는 방법이 사용되고 있다. 단백질 구조를 비교하는 방법은 단백질 구조를 표현하는 방법에 따라 다양하게 개발되고 있으며, 보다 효과적으로 관련된 연구자들이 자신의 연구에 활용하기 위해서는 빠르고 쉽게 활용할 수 있는 인터페이스를 제공하는 도구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 PDB 데이터베이스에서 제공하는 단백질 정보를 이용하여 PSAML 및 Topology String 데이터베이스를 구축하고 이를 바탕으로 웹 기반에서 단백질 구조 비교를 보다 빠르고 효과적으로 수행하는 시스템에 대하여 기술한다. PSAML 데이터베이스는 단백질 구조를 단백질 이차구조 및 그들 사이의 관계를 포함하는 PSAML 데이터를 제공하며, Topology String 데이터베이스는 단백질 구조를 단백질 이차구조를 하나의 문자로 기술하여 아미노산 순서와 위상학적(공간적) 정보를 포함하는 문자열로 단백질 구조정보를 제공한다. 이를 이용하여 구축된 웹 기반 단백질 구조 비교 시스템은 Topology String 정렬 방법을 통하여 보다 빠르게 유사성이 높은 부분 구조를 찾는 방법을 제공한다.

  • The simulation function by the 4D system is a representative BIM function in the construction stage. For the 4D simulation, schedule information for each activity must be created and then linked with the 3D model. Since the 3D model created in the design stage does not consider schedule information, there are practical difficulties in the process of creating schedule information for application to the construction stage and linking the 3D model. In this study, after extracting the schedule information of the construction stage using the HDBSCAN algorithm from the 3D model in the design stage, authors propose a methodology for automatically generating schedule information by identifying precedence and sequencing relationships by applying the topological alignment algorithm. Since the generated schedule information is created based on the 3D model, it can be used as information that is automatically linked by the common parameters between the schedule and the 3D model in the 4D system, and the practical utility of the 4D system can be increased. The proposed methodology was applied to the four bridge projects to confirm the schedule information generation, and applied to the 4D system to confirm the simplification of the link process between schedule and 3D model.

FPGA Implementation of a Burst Cell Synchroniser for the ATM-PON Upstream (ATM-PON의 상향에서 버스트 셀 동기장치의 FPGA 구현)

  • In the APON(ATM Passive Optical Network), the transmission of the upstream traffic is based on a TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) method that an OLT(Optical Line Termination) permits ONUs(Optical Network Units) sending cells by allocating time slots. Because the upstream is not a streaming mode, the cell synchronizer has to be operated in the burst mode. Also, the cell phase monitor is required to prevent collisions between cells which are transmitted by multiple ONUs through a single optical fiber. In this paper, a TDMA burst cell synchroniser is implemented with the FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) being used in the APON based on G.983.1 for transmitting upstream cells. It has two main functions which are the upstream data recovery and the phase monitoring. The former is to recover the upstream data and clock in the OLT by seeking the preamble which is the overhead of the upstream time slot and by aligning the phase of the bit and cell with the system clock. The latter is to provide the information to the ONU to compensate for the equalization delay by monitoring continuously the phase difference between adjacent cells to avoid the cell collision on the upstream.

  • An optical defect detection method using ESPI(electronic speckle pattern interferometry) is proposed. ESPI is widely used as a non-contact measurement system which show deformation and phase map in real time. ESPI can be divided as the in-plane, out-of-plane and shearography by operation principle and target object and also divided with bulk type and optic fiber type by the optic configurations. This paper is focused on optic fiber type out-of-plane ESPI, which has the following advantages: (1) low cost; (2) reduction of the unreliable factors generated by separated optic components; (3) simplification of the optic configuration; (4) great reduction of volume; (5) flexibility, to be easily designed into different structures to adapt to inaccessible environments such as pipeline cavity and so on.

2D Industrial Image Registration Method for the Detection of Defects (결함 검출을 위한 2차원 산업 영상 정합 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose 2D industrial image registration method for the detection of defects. Proposed method performs preprocessing to smooth the original image with the preservation of the edge for the robust registration against general noise. Then, x-direction gradient magnitude image and corresponding binary image are generated. Density analysis around neighborhood regions per pixel are performed to generate feature image for preventing mis-registration due to moire-like patterns, which frequently happen in industrial images. Finally, 2D image registration based on phase correlation between feature images is performed to calculate translational parameters to align two images rapidly and optimally. Experimental results showed that the registration accuracy of proposed method for the real industrial images was 100% and our method was about twenty times faster than the previous method. Our fast and accurate method could be used for the real industrial applications.
