Potential Mapping of Moisan area Using SIP and 3D Geological Modeling (복소 전기비저항 및 3차원 지질모델링을 이용한 모이산 포텐셜 지도 구축)

  • In order to develop a new mineral exploration technique, a study was carried out about the potential mapping of Moisan area using SIP (Spectral Induced Polarization) data. The SIP inversion results were classified according to the geological regions, and the distribution characteristics of resistivity and phase values of SIP data were analyzed at the ore region. Based on the characteristics of SIP of ore bodies, we performed 3D potential mapping of Moisan area. The analyzed potential map was verified using that the locations and patterns of high potential regions of the results are well matched with those of the known ore bodies. If we get the higher spatial resolution SIP data, the potential mapping technique using SIP data can be effectively applied to the estimation of mining deposit.

  • The regional frequency analysis is the method which uses not only sample of target station but also sample of neighborhood stations in which are classified as hydrological homogeneous regions. Consequently, identification of homogeneous regions is a very important process in regional frequency analysis. In this study, homogeneous regions for regional frequency analysis of precipitation were identified by the self-organizing map (SOM) which is one of the artificial neural network. Geographical information and hourly rainfall data set were used in order to perform the SOM. Quantization error and topographic error were computed for identifying the optimal SOM map. As a result, the SOM model organized by $7{\times}6$ array with 42 nodes was selected and the selected stations were classified into 6 clusters for rainfall regional frequency analysis. According to results of the heterogeneity measure, all 6 clusters were identified as homogeneous regions and showed more homogeneous regions compared with the result of previous study.

  • The aim of this paper is to investigate the characteristics of place-names in old map of Andong-Bu mapped in Chosun Dynasty. A place-name is a linguistic expression whose function is to identify a topographic feature. The place-names in old map of Andong-Bu normally involve physical, administrative, military, economic, transport, and cultural features. The cultural place-names are more meaningful in Andong-Bu which was a center of confucianism in Chosun Dynasty. The generic place-names, including cultural place-names such as school, pavilion, temple, etc., served as indicators to identify regional characteristics of Andong in the past and present. A study on the place-names, using old maps, is regarded as advisable attempt in regional approach in geography.

  • Han-Ki Choi($1803{\sim}1877$), who was a scholar in Joseon dynasty, understood geography into a synthetic category of chorography, cartography, earth science and fengshui. He focused on chorography and map as a leading position in geography. The purpose of the research of Han-Ki Choi was to examine the way of Heaven, and then to make clear the way of Humanity. The identity of the geography for Han-Ki Choi was a practical science that useful for the ruling over the country and the welfare of people. He emphasized the nature of relationship with humans in geography. The system of Han-Ki's Chi-hak came from the basis of a geography, on the contrary, his geographical works were accomplished on the ground of the Chi-science. The chorography, Chi-hak of the earth and the earth science were composed into systematic organization for achieving the goal of the Chi-geography.

  • 모델에 입력되는 지형자료의 형태는 좌표별 고도가 체계적으로 정리된 DEM(Digital Elevation Model)형태를 사용할 수 있으며, 과거에는 이러한 지형자료를 얻기 위해 대상지역의 지형도 중 등고선을 대상으로 좌표별 고도수치를 정리하여 구축하거나, 섬세한 지형자료를 구축하고자 할 경우 각 고도별 등고선자료를 scan한 후에 각 등고선별 고도자료의 위상관계를 설정해 주는 작업을 진행하였으나, 두 방법 모두 상당량의 수정작업과 반복작업이 요구되는 단점을 갖고 있었다. 그러나 국립지리원 주도로 1998년 9월부터 시작된 NGIS(National Geogralhic Information Sydtem)사업에 의해 구축된 수치지도를 이용하여 등고선별 고도자료를 추출하고, 이를 가공하여 모델의 입력자료로 활용하는 방법이 최근에 소개되고 있으며, 지형자료의 구축에 소요되는 시간 및 정확한 자료를 구축할 수 있다.   • This Paper is to find out a solution for the full-coverage algorithm requiring the real-time processing such as mobile home service robots and vacuum cleaner robots. Previous methods are used by adopting based grid approach method. They used lots of sensors, a high speed CPU, expensive ranger sensors and huge memory. Besides, most full-coverage algorithms should have a map before obstacle avoidance. However, if a robot able to recognize the tangent vector of obstacles, it is able to bring the same result with less sensors and simplified hardware. Therefore, this study suggests a topological based approach and a local obstacle voidance method using a few of PSD sensors and ultra sonic sensors. The simulation results are presented to prove its applicability.

  • To determine a geographical position by GPS signal, the effect of the ionosphere must be considered to improve accuracy. This has led us to continuously try to find the TEC of the ionosphere by using the GPS signal. So far the way to find TEC has been developed and the information obtained from this can be used not only to increase the accuracy of determining the position, but also to study the ionosphere. In this research, the TEC MAP over Korea was obtained by using the data collected from eight GPS stations around the Far East Asia, which is the common way to represent TEC over some regional or global region.

  • In order to calculate accurate traffic and traffic speed, qualified and sufficient GPS data should be provided. However, it is difficult to provide accurate traffic information using restricted GPS data from probe vehicles because of communication costs. This paper developed a algorithm that recovers links omitted by restricted GPS data with topology information, and calculate traffic speed with original links and recovered links. T traffic information service of city with a new algorithm can provide more accurate traffic and traffic speed than the original system.

  • Map building is essential to a mobile robot navigation system. Localization and path planning methods depend on map building strategies. A topological map is commonly constructed using the GVG(Generalized Voronoi Graph). The advantage of the GVG based topological map is compactness. But the GVG method have many difficulties because it consists of collision-free path. In this paper, we proposed an extended map building method, the AVG (Areal Voronoi Graph) based topological map. The AVG based topological map consists of collision-free area. This feature can improve map building, localization and path planning performance.

  • Vibration transient generated by developing localized fault in gear can be used as indicators of condition monitoring in a gear. In this paper, we propose the phase map for a fault signal using continuous wavelet transform to detect this vibration transient. Local fault induces the abrupt fluctuation of load exciting tooth and phase lag in the vibration signal measured on the gearbox. The relatively large fault like "tip breakage" easily can be detected by the clear fluctuation of exciting load. However, minor fault like "initial pitting" cannot be detected using the load fluctuation. To detect this kind of minor fault, the phase map for a fault signal is taken into account. The phase lag by minor fault is observed well in the phase map.
