A Study on the Use of Information and Social Computing Service by the Elderly (노령이용자의 정보 및 소셜 컴퓨팅 서비스 이용에 관한 연구)

  • The population aging occurs rapidly due to the advancement of the medical technology and living conditions and this led increased interests in how the elderly manages their lives. This study attempted to understand the information needs and behavior of the elderly users as well as to find about their information access and online communications. Based on the analysis of the interviews with thirty-two elderly users, they mainly looked for information on the topics such as health, news, leisure, and hobby. In addition, they primarily used television, radio, Internet, family members, relatives, and newspaper to obtain information. Their current use of social computing services including online communities, blogs, social network sites were low. However, the elderly users were aware of the social computing services' effectiveness in increasing the satisfaction and happiness of their lives by expanding the opportunities for them to communicate with family members and other social members.

Ecotoxicological effects of Alum and Ferric chloride on the population of Eisenia fetida (Annelida : Oligochaeta) (Alum과 Ferric chloride가 줄지렁이 개체군에 미치는 생태독성학적 영향)

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the ecotoxicological effects of Alum and Ferric chloride on the population of Eisenia fetida in vermicomposting of sewage sludge. Using contact filter toxicity test, it was shown that LC50 of Alum and Ferric chloride on adult Eisenia fetida were 457.4 mg $kg^{-1}$ and 1,665.2 mg $kg^{-1}$, respectively,which meant Ferric chloride had much higher acute toxicity on earthworm than Alum. Alum didn't affect on cocoon production, hatchability and number of hatched larvae of Eisenia fetida. Ferric chloride didn't have any efects on number of hatched larvae per cocoon, but reduced cocoon production and hatchability. Larval density of next generation was reduced by the food containing Alum and Ferric chloride. Above results indicated that the Alum and Ferric chloride could be one of the hazardous materials that made extinction of earthworm population when the sewage sludge treated with Alum and Ferric chloride was supplied to the earthworms.

The Mobile Composting Device Development of Organic Wastes (유기성 폐기물의 이동용 퇴비화 장치개발에 관한 연구)

  • Organic wastes are not disposing object but renewable resources. One of those ways of rendering to resources, composting is environmentally friendly way as to aspect of recycling of resources. Regardless of ways, composting goes through the main processes which are fermentation process and curing process. In the study, mobile composting device was developed with the experiments which were performed to solve the problems of fermentation and curing process. Since reaction vessel is rotated, it does not cease in the middle of agitation because of foreign. In addition, it mixed as well. With maintaining uniform temperature of reaction vessel by controlling amount of air, fermentation and curing are easy to use. Its economic feasibility is better than the existing fermentation equipments. Furthermore, it benefits to reduce the personnel and materiel maintenance cost, and mass produce composting product which use organic waste. Especially, although it needs less space, it has effect to provide transferable composting device with available area to increase by contacting organic waste to air.

The Result of Total Contact Cast with High Concentrate Silver ($Ag^+$) Coated Foam Dressing in Diabetic Foot Ulcers (당뇨병성 족부 궤양에서 고 농도 은($Ag^+$) 도포 포말 드레싱을 이용한 전 접촉 석고 붕대 치료 결과)

  • Purpose: The treatment of diabetic foot ulcers with total contact cast has been reported to be associated with numerous undesirable complications. This study shows that our technique of total contact casting that incorporates high concentration silver coated foam dressing. Materials and Methods: Forty-four diabetic foot ulcers were treated with total contact cast along with high concentration silver coated foam dressing. Complication and healing rates were evaluated. Results: Eighty five percent of the ulcers healed within 6 weeks with an overall complication rate of 7%. There were only two cases (5%) of infection and no recurrent ulceration and no another site new pressure ulcer in our study. Conclusion: Total contact casting incorporates high concentration silver coated foam dressing resulted in fewer complications rate and healing rate that is comparable to other studies.

  • 과산화물 가교제의 농도가 헬리콥터 연료탱크의 자기밀폐층 소재로 적용시키기 위한 천연고무 스폰지의 팽윤에 미치는 효과를 조사하였다. 천연고무 콤파운드를 Kneader와 Roll-Mill을 활용하여 제조하고, 고압조건의 프레스에서 부분 가교시킨 후 대기압의 금형에서 발포와 완전가교를 실시하였다. 얻어진 스폰지의 겉보기밀도를 측정하고 스폰지의 셀구조를 주사전자현미경을 통하여 관찰하였다. 톨루엔, 이소옥탄과 항공유를 사용하여 실온에서 팽윤실험을 실시하였다. 용매에 2분 동안 침적 후 얻어지는 부피팽윤비 값은 과산화물 농도가 감소함에 따라 증가하다가 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 스폰지의 겉보기밀도와 셀구조는 과산화물 함량에 매우 민감하였으며 이는 또한 천연고무 스폰지의 팽윤거동에 영향을 미쳤다. 천연고무 스폰지가 연료와 접촉하여 신속한 팽윤이 얻어지기 위하여 금형에서 동시에 발생하는 두 가지 반응인 발포제의 분해반응과 천연고무의 가교반응을 적절히 조절하는 것이 중요하다.

  • 복합분자펌프는 기존의 터보분자펌프 turbine blade에 spiral grooved를 추가하여 초고진공(10-8 Pa)에서 저진공(330Pa)까지 넓은 압력범위에서 사용할 수 있고 이 펌프를 사용함으로서 완전 oil free한 진공시스템을 만들 수 있는 특징을 가지고 있다. 특히, 회전체를 비접촉으로 지지하는 자기베어링 방식을 적용함으로써, 진동은 극히 작고 베어링수명은 길면서 중저진공에 대한 배기속도가 크고 임의의 방향으로 접속이 가능하여 반도체 및 디스플레이 제조 공정과 같은 첨단산업의 다양한 분야에 쉽게 적용되고 있으며, 그 적용 분야와 시장은 계속 성장하고 있다. 고 진공과 배기 속도의 달성을 위해서, 고속으로 이동하는 격면과 기체분자를 충돌시켜, 기체 분자를 원하는 방향으로 유도하는 작동원리를 가지고 있다. 특히 공기분자의 밀도가 매우 낮은 희박가스 상태에서 고속 회전하는 blade로 공기분자를 쳐 내면서 작동됨으로써 날개의 상하 압력차에 의한 공기력보다도 날개의 고속회전이 매우 중요시 되고 압력으로는 10-1 Pa 이하의 분자영역에서 그 성능을 최고로 발휘 할 수 있다. 이러한 복합 펌프의 주요 장점은 다음과 같다. 1. 10-8 Pa (10-10torr)~10 Pa (1 torr) 까지 넓은 영역에서 배기가 가능하다. 2. 탄화수계의 대하여 높은 압축특성을 가지고 있고, 윤활유를 사용하지 않으므로 얻을 수 있는 진공상태가 고청정하다(oil free). 3. 정밀 5축제어 자기베어링으로 완전히 부상하여 회전함으로서 마모가 없고 진동이 최소화하였을 뿐만 아니라, 또한 운전음도 거의 없다. 4. 설치조건에 제한이 없고 고장이 거의 없다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 복합분자펌프의 개발을 위하여, 상기 연구기관에서 수행된 내용을 소개하고 있으며, 펌프 시스템의 기본 설계 및 자기베어링 시스템의 설계 결과 및 수치해석 결과를 나타내었다.

Effect of MoO3 Morphological Change over Hydrogen Spillover Kinetics (MoO3 Morphology 변화가 수소 Spillover에 미치는 영향)

  • sothemal reduction at $50^{\circ}C$ using $Pt/MoO_3$ or $Pt/MoO_3/SiO_2$ made by dry impregnation or physical mixture of $Pt^{\circ}$ and $MoO_3$ demonstrated that the $H_2$ uptake vis $H_2$ spillover from Pt into $MoO_3$ was enhanced as calcination temperature was increased. Surface area of exposed Pt crystallites measured by CO chemisorption was decreased with higher calcination temperature. In addition, TEM showed that $MoO_x$ overlayers were formed on Pt crystallites after calcination at $400^{\circ}C$. Consequentially, it was found that this increased active contact sites between Pt and $MoO_3$ due to surface morphological change was one of the dominant factors for this increased $H_2$uptake via $H_2$ spillover from Pt crystallites into $MoO_3$.

  • $Mo-V-O/SnO_2$(VM/Sn) and $SnO_2/Mo-V-O$(Sn/VM) catalysts have been prepared and characterized by XRD, BET, SEM and TPD of ammonia. The catalytic reaction of acrolein oxidation with these catalysts, in a continuous-flow fixed-bed reactor, showed that they had higher conversion of acrolein and higher yield of acrylic acid than those of Mo-V-O itself. The origin of the observed synergy studied by TPD, TPR and TPO is explained by the cooperation of $SnO_2$ and Mo-V-O at their interfaces where electrons flow from Mo-V-O phase to $SnO_2$ and $SnO_2$ produces spill-over oxygens, which, by being transported onto the surface of Mo-V-O, reoxidize the partially reduced active sites.

  • In this paper we introduce a commercial interactive whiteboard (IWB) system named ImSensorTouch by ImSensor Inc. Using this interface system, we can control our computer through the interactive whiteboard screen just by touching it with your finger or a pen. The interface interacts with Windows operating system (OS) and is adaptable to changes of surroundings especially temperature, and illumination condition. The proposed system calculates the difference between a reference image and a current image captured by a camera in the optical receptive field. And the position making the difference is used to generate the position on Windows screen. Then, we send a mouse event on the position to Windows OS. We have implemented the system using a critical section(CS) with two threads for the reference frame update process in which an adaptive thresholding technique is periodically exploited to get reliable result. We expect the system is competitive and promises a bright future in the IWB market.

  • We suggest the algorithm that it detects volume and shape according with a variation of magnetic field in non-contact electromagnetic measurement system. It is possible to assess an object shape through a variation of magnetic field. The basic idea is compared a length difference with a variation of magnetic field in a detected object and a circle which modeled equivalent area. And the shape is detected to many calibration process that it is similar to signal pattern between a length difference and a variation of magnetic field in object and equivalent circle. This is the shape detection algorithm that use only the variation of magnetic field. In this paper, it has application to the shape detection algorithm about the object as hexagon, pentagon, rectangle, trigon. we can detect the object shape easily because the shape detection algorithm is only used to the variation of magnetic field.
