  • Wireless network using dynamic IP and mobile IP technology provides the user with convenience of access and movement. However, this causes the attacker who disguises normal user(pretending to be a regular user) to have more opportunity in regard to access and acquisition of information. This paper help the network administrator and the service provider quickly to recognize the attacker's intention to access network and service. Therefore network administrator and service provider can specify and respond the location of the attacker appropriately. To achieve above, we define an entity (W_L_M) that manages user information of WiFi and LTE network, and propose messages and procedures for attacker's location identification and alarm. The performance evaluation of this paper is based on qualitative analysis. By using the proposed method, some cost (message creation, processing and transmission) occurred but it was analyzed to be less than the total network operation cost. The proposal of this paper is a management method that utilizes existing network information and structure. This method can be used as a reference material to enhance security.

  • Presented is a Genetic Algorithm (GA) for dynamic partitioning an ATM LANE(LAN Emulation) network. LANE proves to be one of the best solutions to provide guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) for mid-size campus or enterprise networks with minor modification of legacy LAN facilities. However, there are few researches on the efficient LANE network operations to deal with scalability issues arising from broadcast traffic delivery. To cope with this scalability issue, proposed is a decision model named LANE Partitioning Problem (LPP) which aims at partitioning the entire LANE network into multiple Emulated LANs (ELANS), each of which works as an independent virtual LAN.

  • Network virtualization refers to a technology creating independent virtual network environment on a physical network. Network virtualization technology can share the physical network resources to reduce the cost of establishing the network for each user and enables the network administrator to dynamically change the network configuration according to the purpose. Although the network management can be handled dynamically, the management is manual, and it does not maximize the profit of network virtualization. In this paper, we propose Machine-Learning technology to allow the network to learn by itself and manage its management dynamically. The proposed approach is to dynamically allocate appropriate resources by predicting resource demand of VNF in service function chaining, which is a core and essential problem in virtual network management. Our goal is to predict the resource demand of the VNF and dynamically allocate the appropriate resources to reduce the cost of network operation while preventing service interruption.

Abstract A cost evaluation of protection scheme for VP-based ATM network is presented here and its related characteristics are evaluated. The proposed and evaluated scheme is a state-independent restoration scheme using a disjoint path group. For fast and simple restoration of failed connections, link disjoint or node disjoint VP groups (DVPG) were utilized in this paper. A VP assignment and capacity planning problem is formulated. When failure occurs, the failed working VPs are switched to the protection VPs of disjoint path groups with a simple restoration scheme. And, cost evaluation and restoration characteristics are presented. The consideration of multiple QoS (Quality of Service) levels and disjoint path group protection scheme require additional network cost but acquire fit and fast restoration.

  • Most of satellite program process consists of mission analysis, thermal, structure, electronics design, and operation, etc. Each step has several steps like design phase, development phase, and verification phase, etc. As to do this kind of process, very high costs and much time are required, further high risk is included. So for solving those difficulties, satellite developers have designed and used satellite simulator system. In early stage of satellite development, simulator system was just used for a fragment of development and verification, so it could not give enough advantage on satellite development. In order to get high advantage on satellite development, full system level simulators which can be used for several steps for development and verification are evolved. So This paper introduces the trend of simulation systems for satellite development and verification used by several satellite developers.

  • Software stability is the possibility of operating without any malfunction in the operating environment over time. In a finite failure NHPP for software failure analysis, the failure occurrence rate may be constant, monotonically increasing, or monotonically decreasing. In this study, based on the NHPP model and based on the software failure time data, we compared and analyzed the attributes of the software development cost model using the exponential distribution Rayleigh distribution and inverse exponential distribution considering the shape parameter of the Weibull distribution as the life distribution. The results of this study show that the Rayleigh model is the fastest release time and has the economic cost compared to the inverse-exponential model and the Goel-Okumoto model. Using the results of this study, it can be expected that software developers and operators will be able to predict the optimal release time and economic development cost.

  • The objectives of this study were to identify engineering problems in the design and installation of cable logging operation that affects productivity through case study of actual logging sites, and to analyze associated productivity loss and increased cost. As a result of the study, when the geographic conditions and engineering safety of the site are not sufficiently considered, deflection of the cable line can not be secured. Hourly productivity of the operation decreased to 65% and the logging cost increased by more than two times compared to the productive yarding operation, which lowered overall efficiency of the operation. Thus, it is required to spread filed technologies that minimize unnecessary production cost incurred due to the in-efficient logging operations as well as secure work safety and efficiency to expand cable logging operation throughout the country.

  • This paper describes development of automatic flight control system for an unmanned target drone. Current target drone is operated by pilot control of on-board servo motor via remote control system. Automatic flight control system for the target drone greatly reduces work load of ground pilot and can increase application area of the drone. Most UAVs being operated nowdays use high-priced sensors as AHRS and IMU to measure the attitude, but those are costly. This paper introduces the development of low-cost automatic flight control system with low-cost sensors. The integrated automatic flight control system has been developed. The performance of automatic flight control system is verified by flight test.

  • Most of the current research works on high-technology is being carried on to provide ubiquitous services to people. To make that possible, ubiquitous computing networks should be deployed in the first place, where ubiquitous sensor network (USN) will take a very big role. This paper is devoted to introduce a new transmission technique to make USN more independent and reliable as an infra-structure for ubiquitous services. The proposed scheme can elevate the network performance by ensuring the reliability of data transmission. Especially, the proposed scheme can reduce network traffic and communication cost by detecting data error without additional data and communication. In addition, it has an advantage of using the legacy routing protocols.

  • A spacecraft contends with various vibration from the launch to the on-orbit operation, which is one of the major considerations in spacecraft design. The weight reduction has been indispensable to decrease the launch cost, however it produces worse disturbances for the spacecraft equipments. Besides, the load requirements at observation payload interfaces have became severe to secure their pointing stability as their images are required with high resolution. As a possible solution, a vibration isolation system is introduced and it reduces the vibration from the launch vehicle or isolates the spacecraft equipments from their generating/transmitted vibration. In this paper, it is examined the design consideration needed for the accommodation of the vibration isolation systems through the survey of recent applications of vibration mitigation technologies to spacecrafts.
