This study aims at suggesting marketing policies for the postal business to accommodate itself to the rapidly changing business environment. Especially according to the development of Internet, the decrease of the market that is the basis of postal business enables the reason for the existence of postal business to be lost. In this environmental change, this article is a study that explained the survival policies of postal business in terms of marketing. This study, as a theoretical research, examined the current situations of postal business by means of the environment analysis of universal services and postal business, and as a practical research, this study suggested the new paradigm of postal business, the strengthened universal services, and the marketing policies in viewpoint of the diversified businesses by means of the practical investigation of the course of postal business focusing on the postal service users.

2001년 4월 고이즈미 후보가 자민당 총재선거에서 압승을 거두어 총리에 취임한 후 국민 지지를 기반으로 우정 3사업(우편, 우편저금, 간이보험)의 민영화를 추진하고 있다. 또 2001년 1월부터 시작된 행정개편에서 우정사업을 총괄하였던 우정성이 자치성, 총무청과 함께 총무성으로 통폐합되어 새로운 전기를 맞이하고 있다. 고이즈미 총리는 민영화를 통해 우정사업의 효율성을 기할 수 있다고 주장하나, 반대론자들은 전국 서비스를 유지할 수 없다는 반박논리를 내세우고 있다. 이에 본 고에서는 행정개편에 따른 우정사업의 변화, 민영화에 대한 찬반논리와 향후 전망 등을 중심으로 분석한다.

This primary purpose of this study is to suggest alternatives for raising the Korea Post as a global logistics firm using a case study. The following alternatives for raising the Korea Post as a global logistics are suggested. First, as a first stage, in addition to previously established business scope such as saving, mail, insurance, logistics business unit have to be added. Second, as a second stage, warehousing and multimodal transport logistics have to be strengthened through M&A or self-financing and investment. Third, as a third stage, market coverage and service scope is to be expanded to country having larger logistics market size. Finally, as a fourth stage, global-oriented total logistics service is to be provided.

(재)전기통신단말기기심사협회(JATE)는 전기통신사업법에 기초하여, 우정성 장관으로부터 지정받고 우정성법령에 정해 놓은 기술기준(단말설비등의 규칙) 및 제1종 전기통신사업자가 우정성 장관의 인가를 받아 정한 접속 기술적 조건과의 적합성 심사를 하여, 적합인정을 일원화하고 있다. 1994년도 상반기의 인정상황 개요를 소개한다.

제21차 만국우편연합총회가 1994.8.22-9.14까지 서울 한국종합전시장(KOEX)에서 185개 회원국 및 366개 관련국제기구의 대표, 옵서버 등 약 2,000명이 참가한 가운데 체신부 주관으로 개최된다. 이번 총회는 우리나라가 가입한(1990년) 최초의 국제기구 총회이며 한국우정 110년만에 처음으로 개최되는 역사적인 행사로서, 총회에 참가하는 각국 체신관련장관 등 고위인사와의 접촉을 통하여 통신사업의 협력을 증진하고 우정사업의 선진화를 촉진하는 기회가 될 것으로 기대된다.

아직 봄을 시샘하는 겨울의 마지막 바람이 불던 지난 3월 21일 동수원 우체국에서는 접수한 고객들이 창구가 아닌 임시로 마련된 건강체험 데스크에 줄을 서 있었다. 한국건강관리협회가 우정사업본부와 함께 우체국 방문 고객 및 상주직원을 대상으로 올바른 건강관리에 대한 홍보와 간단한 건강체험 서비스를 제공하기 때문이다. 이 행사는 지난해 이어 올해 두 번째 열린 것이다.

The Korea Post plays a public role in providing postal services such as mail, savings, and insurance to the public. Although postal machines are becoming automated, workers are still exposed to various industrial accidents caused by being caught in the mail, and musculoskeletal disorders. Therefore, occupational safety and health activities are needed to prevent serious accidents. In this study, the level of safety and health consciousness was analyzed for employees working in the postal logistics center The tasks such as regulations and procedures, organization composition, and safety and health education method improvement, were classified into five items and proposed, and efficient industrial accident prevention was presented.
