Limited Feedback and Scheduling for Coordinated SDMA (협력 공간 분할 다중 접속 기술을 위한 제한된 피드백과 스케줄링)

  • In this paper, coordinated space division multiple access(SDMA) technology is proposed to mitigate inter-cell interference by using partial channel state information in cooperative wireless communications system with limited feedback. Each AT selects an optimal cluster transmission mode and sends it back to a cluster scheduler, and at the cluster scheduler, ATs are scheduled within a AT group with the identical cluster transmission mode, and the optimal transmission mode and the corresponding scheduled ATs are determined to maximize scheduling priority. Also, in order to enhance multiuser diversity gain, an extended transmission feedback method is proposed to feed back multiple preferred cluster transmission modes at each AT. It is shown that the proposed coordinated SDMA scheme outperforms existing non-coordinated SDMA schemes in terms of the average system throughput.

  • This paper proposes an improved superframe structure with one : N situation of the network as a target for efficiency battery and communication performance used in the existing standard IEEE 702.15.4 MAC layer. The proposed superframe transforms and adds a two structures. First, we add the proposed scheduling interval after the arrival of the beacon. Second, we change to a structure in which one of the contention access period is divided into two. The contention access period and the contention-free access period of active portion are divided according to the LQI value of the device. Through this system-level simulation written by $c{^+^+}$, as a results show that the battery consumption and transmission performance has been increased.

New Dynamic WRR Algorithm for QoS Guarantee in DiffServ Networks (DiffServ 망에서 QoS를 보장하기 위한 새로운 동적 가중치 할당 알고리즘 개발)

  • There are two traditional scheduling methods known as PQ and WRR in the DiffServ network, however, these two scheduling methods have some drawbacks. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that can be adopted in WRR scheduler with making up for weak points of PQ and WRR. The proposed algorithm produces the control discipline by the fuzzy theory to dynamically assign the weight of WRR scheduler with checking the Queue status of each class. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, We accomplished a computer simulation using NS-2. From simulation results, the proposed algorithm improves the packet loss rate of the EF class traffic to 6.5% by comparison with WRR scheduling method and that of the AF4 class traffic to 45% by comparison with PQ scheduling method.

  • Embedded Systems need to ensure real-time of the task response time depending on the applied fields of it. And task could be faulty due to various reasons in real time systems. Therefore in this paper, we design a task scheduler that guarantees deadlines of periodic tasks and considers a fault tolerance of defective task in embedded system with a single processor. In order to provide real-time, we classify tasks with periodic/aperiodic tasks and applies RMS(Rate Monotonic Scheduling) method to schedule periodic tasks and can guarantees execution of aperiodic tasks by managing surplus times obtained after analyzing the execution time of periodic tasks. In order to provide fault tolerance, we manage backup times and reexecute a fault task to restore it's conditions.

  • The Wireless Mesh Network technology is able to provide an infrastructure for isolated islands, in which it is difficult to install cables or wide area such as battlefield of armed forces. Therefore, Wireless Mesh Network is frequently used to satisfy needs for internet connection and active studies and research on them are in progress However, as a result of increase in number of hops under hop-by-hop communication environment has caused a significant decrease in throughput and an increase in delay. Considering the heavy traffic of real-time data, such as voice or moving pictures to adaptive WMN, in a military environment, it is restricted for remote units to have their Mesh Node to get real-time services. Such phenomenon might cause an issue in fairness. In order to resolve this issue, the Location-based Packet Scheduling Scheme, which can provide an fair QoS to each mesh node that is connected to each echelon's AP and operates based on WRR method that gives a priority to emergency message and control packet. The performance of this scheme is validated.

Dynamic Transaction Processing in Distributed Real-Time Systems (실시간 분산 시스템을 위한 동적 트랜잭션 처리)

  • 본 논문에서는 분산 실시간 시스템의 특징인 분산 처리 과정의 신뢰성을 지원하기 위한 동적 트랜잭션 처리 구조를 연구하였다. 실시간 분산 처리 환경에서 동적으로 발생하는 실시간 분산 트랜잭션 처리를 위하여 트랜잭션 내에 필수적인 3가지 언어적 특성들을 제시하였다. 첫째는 트랜잭션 내에 실시간 시스템의 가장 중요한 특징인 시간적인 제약 조건들을 정의 할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고, 둘째는 비동기적인 처리 성격을 지닌 실시간 특성을 고려한 비동기적 트랜잭션 처리 방법을 제시한다. 또한, 분산 처리 과정에서 발생되는 예외 사항들을 처리하기 위하여 긴급성을 고려한 다중레벨 우선순위 스케줄링 (Multi-Level Priotiry Scheduling)이라 부르는 트랜잭션 스케줄링 방안을 제시한다. 그리고, 제시한 실시간 분산 트랜잭션 처리 구조의 타당성 및 가능성을 입증하기 위한 실시간 트랜잭션 처리 과정을 시물레이션을 통하여 제시한 언어적 특성에 대한 고려 사항들을 보여준다.Abstract We propose a dynamic transaction processing model that supports a reliability for distributed real-time processing. For the dynamic processing in distributed real-time transaction systems, we suggest three features that are defined in programming language. First, we propose a specification model to explicitly define the time constraints, needs in real-time distributed processing. Second, we describe an asynchronous transaction processing mechanism based on the real-time characteristics. So, we suggest three communication primitives to support asynchronous transaction processing. Lastly, a scheduling policy based on urgent transaction is suggested to manage the exception occurred during the distributed processing. This scheduling policy is called multi-level priotiry scheduling (MPLS). Based on three features and scheduling policy, we describe a direction to manage a dynamic transaction processing in distributed real-time systems.

Power Charge Scheduling and Charge-Ready Battery Allocation Algorithms for Real-Time Drones Services (실시간 드론 서비스를 위한 전원 충전 스케쥴링과 충전 배터리 할당 알고리즘)

  • The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is one of the most precious inventions of Internet of things (IOT). UAV faces the necessity to charge battery or replace battery from the charging stations during or between services. We propose scheduling algorithms for drone power charging (SADPC). The basic idea of algorithm is considering both a deadline (for increasing deadline miss ratio) and a charging time (for decreasing waiting time) to decide priority on charging station among drones. Our simulation results show that our power charging algorithm for drones are efficient in terms of the deadline miss ratio as well as the waiting time in general in compare to other conventional algorithms (EDF or SJF). Also, we can choose proper algorithms for battery charge scheduling and charge ready battery allocation according to system parameters and user requirements based on our simulation.

Development of Education-purposed Ral-Time System experimental tool kit (실시간 시스템 교육 및 실험 Tool kit 개발)

  • 본 논문에서는 교육 실험용으로 사용할 수 있는 실시간 시스템 프로토타입 tool kit을 개발하였다. 하드웨어 부분에서는 8개의 센서 입력 채널과 8개의 제어 신호 출력 채널을 가지는 AT(ISA) 버스용 I/O 보드를 제작했다. 소프트웨어 부분에서는 실시간 운영체제인 VxWorks 상에서, 이 I/O 보드를 제어할 수 있는 디바이스 드라이버를 구현하고, 이를 바탕으로 멀티 스레딩과 우선 순위 스케줄링을 이용한 세차장 모델 제어 프로그램을 제작했다. 또, 현재 부각되고 있는 인터넷을 통한 원격 제어를 실현하기 위해 TCP/IP 기반의 웹서버와 자바 애플릿으로 구현된 원격 제어 클라이언트도 내장시켰다. 그리고 이 tool kit의 효용성을 입증하기 위해 Lego Dacta를 이용하여 세차장모형을 제작하고 본 tool kit에 접속하여 인터넷에서 원격 제어가 가능한 실시간 새차장 시스템의 프로토타입을 구현하여 보았다.

An Efficient MAC Protocol for Supporting Multimedia Services in APON (APON에서 멀티미디어 전송을 위한 효율적인 MAC 프로토콜)

  • In this paper, we proposed the MAC protocol of APON supporting multi-class traffic such as CBBUVBR, ABR, UBR, to guarantee the required QoS of each service. For this, we analyze the performance of variousrequest mechanisms and employee the different request mechanism for each traffic classes. Upstream anddownstream frame structures to minimize transmission overhead are proposed based on our request mechanism.The proposed MAC protocol applies the different priority to permit distribution process. CBBWBR traffic, withthe stringent requirements on CDV or delay, is allocated prior to any other class. ABR traffic, which hasnon-strict CDV or delay criteria, uses flexibly the available bandwidth but ensures a minimum cell rate (MCR).UBR traffic is allocated with lowest priority for the remaining capacity. The performance of proposed protocol isevaluated in terms of transfer delay and 1-point CDV with various offered load. The result of simulation showsthat the proposed protocol guarantees the required QoS of the corresponding category, while making use of theavailable resources in both an efficient and dynamical way.

  • 본 논문에서는 Xen-ARM 기반의 가상화 환경에서 실시간 게스트 운영체제의 I/O를 지원하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. Xen-ARM 하이퍼바이저는 서버 환경에서 주로 사용되는 Xen 가상화 기법을 모바일 구조인 ARM에서 구현한 것으로, 분할 드라이버 모델과 크레딧 스케줄러를 지원한다. 하지만, 이러한 두 가지 특성은 I/O 처리 지연의 주요 원인이 된다. 특히, 장치 드라이버와 사용자 태스크의 실행 중에 하이퍼바이저의 도메인 간 스위칭이 필요하므로, 특정 시간으로 I/O 처리 지연을 제한하기 대단히 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 게스트 운영체제의 수정을 통해 I/O 처리 지연을 제한하는 기법을 제안한다. 게스트 운영체제는 현재 실행되는 태스크의 특성을 Xen-ARM 하이퍼바이저에게 간접적으로 전달하여, 전체 시스템의 모든 태스크에 대하여 우선순위를 부여하며, 하이퍼바이저의 스케줄러에서 인터럽트 처리를 위해 가장 응급한 태스크 실행을 스케줄링 할 수 있도록 한다. 제안하는 기법은 실험을 통해, I/O를 처리하는 도메인의 1ms 이상의 처리시간이 84%에서 99%까지 줄어들 수 있음을 보인다.
