프로세스 통합도구를 활용한 용접대차프레임 피로내구해석의 자동화 (Automation of Fatigue Durability Analysis of Welded Bogie Frame using Process Integration Tool)

  • For the design of welded bogie frame, the concept of multidisciplinary engineering activities, i.e. static, fatigue and dynamic analysis, has been applied, in which the sharing of design parameters related with each analysis and the collaboration of the working parts in charge should be fulfilled. However, in spite of these necessities, the multi-disciplinary engineering activities couldn't be performed in practice due to tack of the automation of the required analysis. In this paper, an automation of fatigue durability analysis of welded bogie frame according to UIC-Code was proposed by using the Model Center, which enables to integrate the several tools for the fatigue durability analysis, i.e. I-DEAS, ANSYS and BFAP, and to perform iterative analysis works in relation to the geometrical change of transom support bracket. Besides, the wrapping programs to control I/O-data and interfaces of these tools were developed. The developed automation technique brings not only significant decreasing man-hour required in the durability analysis, but also providing a platform of the multidisciplinary engineering activities.

  • Stainless steel sheets are widely used as the structure material for the railroad cars and the commercial vehicles. These kinds structures used stainless steel sheets are commonly fabricated by using the gas welding. Gas welding is very important and useful technology in fabrication of an railroad car and vehicles structure. However fatigue strength of the gas welded joints is considerably lower than parent metal due to stress concentration at the weldment, fatigue strength evaluation of gas welded joints are very important to evaluate the reliability and durability of railroad cars and to establish a criterion of long life fatigue design. In this paper, ${\Delta}-N_f$ curve were obtained by fatigue tests. Using these results, the accelerated life test (ALT) is conducted. From the experimental results, an acceleration model is derived and acceleration factors are estimated. So it is intended to obtain the useful information for the fatigue lifetime of plug and ring gas welded joints and data analysis by statistical reliability method, to save time and cost, and to develop optimum accelerated life prediction plans.

선체 Shell FE 모델 내 용접부의 Solid 요소변환 자동화 시스템 (Pre-processing System for Converting Shell to Solid at Selected Weldment in Shell FE Model)

  • FE analyses for weldment of ship structure are required for various reasons such as stress concentration for bead tow, residual stress and distortion after welding, and hydrogen diffusion for prediction of low temperature crack. These analyses should be done by solid element modeling, but most of ship structures are modeled by shell element. If we are able to make solid element in the shell element FE modeling it is easily to solve the requirement for solid elements in weld analysis of large ship structures. As the nodes of solid element cannot take moments from nodes of shell element, these two kinds of element cannot be used in one model by conventional modeling. The PSCM (Perpendicular shell coupling method) can connect shell to solid. This method uses dummy perpendicular shell element for transferring moment from shell to solid. The target of this study is to develop a FE pre-processing system applicable at welding at ship structure by using PSCM. We also suggested glue-contact technique for controlling element numbers and element qualities and applied it between PSCM and solid element in automatic pre-processing system. The FE weldment modeling through developed pre-processing system will have rational stiffness of adjacent regions. Then FE results can be more reliable when turn-over of ship-block with semi-welded state or ECA (Engineering critical assessment) of weldment in a ship-block are analyzed.

비접촉식 초음파탐상방법 자동화 기술 (Automatic Noncontact Ultrasonic Inspection Technique)

  • 비접촉으로 초음파를 송 수신하며 비파괴검사를 수행하는 EMAT(Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducer)를 이용한 초음파탐상장치를 구성하였고, 이를 3축 구동장치 및 데이타 수집, 처리장치와 연결하여 자동화를 시도하였다. 자동화에 적합하도록 송 수신이 한 몸체로 되어 있으며 인가하는 구동신호의 주파수를 변화시킴으로써 main beam의 방향을 조절할 수 있는 EMAT를 설계 제작하였으며, 제작된 EMAT의 특성을 측정하였다. EMAT를 이용한 초음파탐상장치, 3축 구동장치, 데이타 수집장치들에 대한 제어 및 데이타 처리를 위한 프로그램을 개발하였다. Host로 IBM-PC/AT 급을 사용하였으며, 컴퓨터 화면상에서 실재 장비를 가상적으로 구현하는 기법을 사용하였다. 제작된 전 탐상장치의 성능 분석과 결함 검출 능력을 평가하기 위하여, 인위적으로 결함을 가공한 시험편과 실재 결함이 내재되어있는 용접부에 대한 결함 검출을 시도하였으며, 만족할 만한 측정 결과를 화상으로 얻었다.

조선 소조립 공정의 자동화를 위한 용접 로봇 스케줄링 (Scheduling of Welding Robots for Shipyard Sub-assembly Process)

  • We consider a scheduling problem arising in a shipyard subassembly welding process. There are four welding robots of gantry type, which perform the welding process for the subassemblies. Because the robots perform the welding operations at the same time, there is a possibility of collision between adjacent robots depending on the welding schedule. In this paper, we propose a heuristic method to find a welding schedule which does minimize the welding completion time while avoiding collision among the robots. The method consists of two phases: assignment and scheduling. In the assignment phase, we assign each welding line to a proper robot. In the scheduling phase, we determine the welding schedules for the robots so that collision is avoided. Computational experiences with the data which reflect the real situation are reported.

  • Sub-assembly in ship manufacturing is a sequence of filet joint welding of stiffeners on metal panels and the process is different depending on companies. In this paper, we introduce a new intelligent robotic system of the sub-assembly process in Samsung Heavy Industry, where one shift of 22m * 9m workspace includes one to ten panels and each panel includes up to 10 stiffeners. The inherent problems such as several hundreds of different panels, unstructured task environment and the large scale do not allow a fixed automation, but needs highly intelligent versatile automation. The robotic system is composed of four 14DOF macro-mini robots and a task recognition system. Application of this system has verified the task specification such as low temperature environment(-10.deg. C) and productivity is satisfied successfully.

In the developed system, a automatic welding system is remotely controlled to overcome the restriction of operating condition by a portable panel PC, and the DB system such as the operating condition and control data of automatic welding carriage is developed by ATMega128.

  • This paper supplements shortcoming of radioactivity check by detecting defect of SWP weld zone using ultrasonic wave.   • 철골 Pre-Engineered Building System(PEBS)이 국내에서도 80년도 후반부터 상당히 일반화되었지만 변단면 PEBS는 대부분 국외에서 개발된 최적화 프로그램으로 구조설계가 수행되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 3차원 변단면 PEBS의 구조설계를 AISC2005의 허용응력설계법과 KBC 기준에 따라 주어진 여러 제약조건들을 만족하도록 수치해석법으로 최적화하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 변단면 구조물의 최적화 설계는 구조해석과 최적 부재설계를 수행하는데, 구조물의 최소 중량화를 위해서 구조해석과 부재설계 과정을 허용응력조건과 변위조건이 만족될 때까지 반복 수행한다. 2, 3차원 변단면 구조물을 최적화 설계한 결과에 의하면 변단면 용접 H-형강으로 설계하는 것이 압연 H-형강보다 상당한 철골 절약효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 변단면 용접 H-형강으로 설계하는 경우 구조물의 종류에 따라 차이는 있지만 AISC2005 기준으로 설계하는 것이 AISC1989 기준보다 철골량이 줄어들었고, 부재 춤도 작게 설계되어 웨브 좌굴에 새 기준이 더 안전한 것으로 평가되었다.

용접자동화를 위한 주사빔을 이용한 시각센서에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Vision Sensor Using Scanning Beam for Welding Process Automation)

  • The vision sensor which is based on the optical triangulation theory with the laser as an auxiliary light source can detect not only the seam position but the shape of seam. In this study, a vision sensor using the scanning laser beam was investigated. To design the vision sensor which considers the reflectivity of the sensing object and satisfies the desired resolution and measuring range, the equation of the focused laser beam which has a Gaussian irradiance profile was firstly formulated, Secondly, the image formaing sequence, and thirdly the relation between the displacement in the measuring surface and the displacement in the camera plane was formulated. Therefore, the focused beam diameter in the measuring range could be determined and the influence of the relative location between the laser and camera plane could be estimated. The measuring range and the resolution of the vision sensor which was based on the Scheimpflug's condition could also be calculated. From the results mentioned above a vision sensor was developed, and an adequate calibration technique was proposed. The image processing algorithm which and recognize the center of joint and its shape informaitons was investigated. Using the developed vision sensor and image processing algorithm, the shape informations was investigated. Using the developed vision sensor and image processing algorithm, the shape informations of the vee-, butt- and lap joint were extracted.
