다양한 출처의 지리정보를 공유 및 유통하기 위해서는 지리정보 전반에 걸친 표준화가 필요하다. 현재 국내외적으로 지리정보에 대한 상호운용성을 지원하기 위하여 지리정보 각 분야에 걸쳐 표준화 작업을 수행하고 있다. 특히 표준화된 용어의 사용은 다른 표준화 작업에 기반이 되므로, 공통적으로 사용되어지는 지리정보에 관련된 용어의 표준은 매우 중요하며 선결되어야 한다. 이 논문에서는 국제표준화기구에서 제정중인 지리정보에 관련된 용어를 기반으로 국내 실정에 맞는 지리정보 용어 표준안을 제시한다.

To narrow gap of information level and clarify a sense of term between various fields of industry is very important. In this point, these actions including generating, managing and sharing standard terminology are needed and management system for standard terminology is necessary. Nowadays, many research fields and many researchers have studied terminology standardization and tried to share these terminologies with other fields or researchers. But there are little systems which collect terminologies, keep the tracks of changes in terminology standardization, give workplace to specialists and service standard terminology to public. In this research, we propose management system which support a series of processing from registering terminologies to opening standard terminology to public.

The motivation of this paper comes from a recognition that GIS educators in the private and public sectors are faced with both an opportunity and a dilemma. As the GIS vendors move to open systems which can be integrated with many traditional operations, the use of spatial data and analysis will become widespread throughout business, government and education. Hence the need for standardization in GIS fields is expanding rapidly. Especially non-standardized terminology of GIS prevents GIS-users from communicating among the GIS application fields. This paper will assist this shifting foundation by providing terminology control procedures for ISO/TC2ll family of standards and KS(Korea Standards) information terminology and make recommendations for the improvement and harmonization of terminology.

하나의 개념을 가리키는 여러 개의 전문용어의 난립과 혼란스러운 사용은 학자간, 학계간의 원활한 의사소통을 가로막고, 나아가 학문의 발전을 저해하게 된다. 따라서 전문용어 표준을 확립하고 보급하는 전문용어 정비 및 표준화 사업이 관심사로 부각되고 있다. 한국은 2003년부터 한국학술단체총연합회의 주관으로 학과간 전문용어의 정비와 표준화 사업을 본격적으로 추진해 오고 있다. 한국의 실정에 맞는 전문용어 정리 방법론을 구축하고 적용하기 위해서는, 다른 나라들의 전문용어 표준화 사업에 대한 사례 조사가 선행되어야 할 것이다. 인근 국가인 중국은 일찍이 20세기 초반부터 전문용어 정비 사업을 진행해 왔는데, 특유의 사회 체제와 중국어의 고유한 언어 특성상 전문용어의 정비의 시스템과 그 실제에 있어서 한국의 상황과 아주 다른 양상을 보인다. 본 연구는 중국에서의 전문용어 정비 사업의 연혁과 정비 기구, 나아가 전문용어 정비의 실제에 대해 두루 살펴보고 장단점을 논의하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze use patterns of archival terms and suggests the directions for their standardization. This present paper begins with analyzing translation patterns of fundamental terminology in the area of records and archives management and compares with corresponding Chinese and Japanese words. And some problems of essential terms are discussed in the light of standardization criteria which are adjusted to archival terms. Based on these analyses, it suggests directions for standardizing archival terms.

지식의 확산과 대중화로 인하여 동일한 개념에 대한 검증되지 않은 용어들이 난립하고 있다. 종전에는 해당 학 회의용어심의위원회, 혹은 전문가 그룹의 합의를 통해서 출판된 전문용어집이 권위를 가지고 전문용어의 사용을 통제하였었다. 그러나 이제는 기존 전문용어집에 수록되지 않은 새로운 개념을 위한신조어의 생성에 있어서 사용자의 자의적인 해석이 빈번해져서 사회적 합의에 도달하지 못한 새로운 전문용어들이 경쟁적으로 사용되는 추세이다. 이러한 현실에 직면하여 국내외적으로 전문용어의 정비 및 표준화 사업은 언어 및 학문 분야의 경계를 넘어 총체적으로 전략적 접근을 시도하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 7가지의 전문용어 표준화 지침을 수립하고, 그에 따라 ISO 2382의 4030개 정보기술용어를 표준화하고자 한다.

우리나라에서 학문분야별로 출판된 전문용어사전의 표제어 기술형식은 매우 상이하다. 이러한 특징은 여러 분야의 전문용어사전을 참조해야 하는 이용자에게 많은 불편을 초래할 뿐만 아니라 표준화된 전자사전에 대한 요구를 충족시키지도 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 전자사전 표준화의 일환인 전문용어사전의 표제어 기술형식 표준화를 위한 기초작업의 일부로서 현재까지 우리나라기서 출판된 전문 용어사전을 대상으로 표제어의 기술형식에 대하여 기술요소, 기술요소의 순서, 띄어쓰기, 다의성을 갖는 용어의 구분, 배열 등에 대하여 조사 분석하였다.

지식경제부 기술표준원은 최근 책의 명칭 및 편집 일반용어의 KS(KS X 0003)표준을 제정, 발표했다. 동 표준의 연구는 상록문화정보연구소(이사장 전영표)가 맡았다. 이 표준은 책의 외부 명칭 26종, 내부 명칭 21종, 본문 편집 판면 명칭 27종, 출판 편집 일반용어 100종을 선정하여 표준화하였다. 기술표준원은 "이 표준은 컴퓨터 활용 시 가장 많이 쓰이는 용어들을 먼저 대상으로 삼았으며, 출판 인쇄 분야에서 활용 빈도가 높은 용어를 우선 선정하였고, 용어의 명칭과 정의를 명확하게 하였을 뿐만 아니라 외래어의 영향을 많이 받고 있는 용어를 주 대상으로 삼았으며, 단체나 개인에 따라 달리 쓰이는 용어를 선정하여 명칭을 표준화했다"고 밝혔다. 다음은 기술표준원이 제정한 편집 일반 용어다.
