  • 초임계유체(supercritical fluid, SCF)는 친환경적 용매로서 고분자 합성과 기능화를 비롯하여 RESS(rapid expansion of supercritical solution)와 초임계염색 등의 섬유공정 분야에서 연구자들의 흥미로운 관심을 받아 오고 있다. 초임계유체는 기체와 액체의 중간적인 특성을 가지면서도 가스와 같이 우수한 확산력을 가지며 또한 아주 낮은 점도를 갖는다. SCF 중에서 비교적 온화한 조건(31.1℃의 임계온도, 73.8기압의 임계압력, Figure 1)에서 초임계상태를 가질 수 있는 이산화탄소가 가장 많이 이용되고 있는데 이는 자원이 풍부하며 쉽게 회수하여 사용할 수 있어 응용 면에서 유리하다. (중략)

  • The study was done with a focus on making the optimum condition on phosphorylation of deoxyribonucleoside with o-chlorophenylphosphoroditriazole as a phosphorylating agent. The result showed that the addition of 5 volume % pyridine to the dioxane solution accelerated the rate of reaction to a great extent and turned out to nearly quantitative yields on phosphorylation. On the basis of this improvement of optimum reaction conditions, a more efficient method to synthesize all-protected dideoxyribonucleotide from N, 5-O-blocked deoxyribonucleoside was developed. The dodecamer with a Hind Ⅲ recognition site was readily synthesized from five different dimers which were prepared through the newly improved method.

  • APM의 화학적, 효소적 합성방법의 선택은 각기의 장단점을 비교 검토한 후 결정해야 할 문제로서, 수율, 공정의 효율성, 작업환경, 경제성 등의 여러 요인이 영향을 줄 수 있으나, 최근의 연구동향 및 산업적 생산의 추이는 효소를 이용한 bioconversion process에 의한 방식으로 나아가는 듯 하다. 결론적으로 bioconversion process에 의한 APM의 생산은 반응매질로써 유기용매의 사용이 불가피하므로 효소의 안정성을 증가시켜 장기간 사용할 수 있는 신기술의 개발이 필요하며 기존의 고정화 기술은 그 좋은 예가 될 수 있다. 또한 보호기의 도입과 제거과정이 보다 용이해야하며 더 나아가서 보호기의 부착없이도 반응을 가능케하는, 기질에 대한 특이성이 높은 새로운 효소(예를 들어 exopeptidase를 사용하면 기질에 보호기를 붙일 필요가 없으므로 화학적 방법에 비해 훨씬 유리하다)의 screening이 절실하다. 아울러 유기용매로 인한 효소의 deactivation mechanism의 규명과 반응기 운전 system의 개발이 요구된다 하겠다.

Separation of Phospholipids in Step-Gradient Mode (Setp-Gradient Mode를 이용한 인지질의 분리)

  • Normal-phase HPLC was used to separate the useful phospholipids, PE, PI and PC in soybean lecithin. The mobile phase used in this experiments were haxane, isopropanol and methanol, the gradient mode was applied as the three components could not be separated by the isocratic mode. To find the optimum separation condition, the concentration profiles of effluents were calculated from the plate theory and the capacity factor in step-gradient mode. From the calculated results, PE was separated with hexane/isopropanol/methanol = 90/5/5vol.% in isocratic mode and PI and PC were resolved in the conditions of 10min gradient time and the second mobile phase of hexane/isopropanol/methanol=50/20/30vol.% in step-gradient mode. The agreement between the calculated concentration profile and experimental data was good, so the methodology developed in this work can be used to obtain the optimum separation condition in gradient mode.

  • The effect of 1,3-dioxolane on the structural development in the optical polycarbonate film was studied. The 1,3-dioxolane was used as an environmental friendly solvent for manufacturing solution-cast polycarbonate film instead of methylene chloride. The evaporation rate in film drying process decreased due to the high boiling temperature of 1,3-dioxolane. This caused the crystallization in the polycarbonate film. As a result, The increase of crystallinity and roughness led to the decrease of light transmissivity. It was also found that the lowering of mechanical properties in polycarbonate film was attributed to the morphological change due to the solvent evaporation rate in film drying process.

  • Tetrahydrotricyclopentadiene(below THTCPD) isomer is a good candidate for the high performance liquid fuel component because of high density and heat of combustion value. But it has bad fluidity. The object of this study was to find out the optimal reaction condition to improve the fluidity of THTCPD because initial reactant is solid state, So we have carried out isomerization reactions using aluminum chloride catalyst under varying the reaction condition such as reaction temperature and reaction solvents. The results showed that when using aluminum chloride catalyst, isomerization reaction was more active in dichloromethane(methylene chloride: MC), 1,2-dichloroethane(ethylene chloride: EC) and chloroform than n-hexnae and toluene and was effected by reaction temperature.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of reaction conditions, solvents, and surfactants on the average size and size distribution of silica particles in preparing silica fine powders by sodium silicate. Silica fine particles were synthesized by varying kinds of solvents and surfactants using the emulsion method. Span 20, Span 40, Span 60, and Span 80 were used as nonionic surfactants, Dispersing solvents were n-Hexane, n-Heptane, iso-Octane, and n-Decane of the alkane group. In these experiments, it was known that the optimum dispersion stirring time to form the emulsion of the constant size was around 6 min. The mean sizes of silica particles, at a variety of the dispersion stirring speeds, decreased as the dispersion stirring speed increased. Also, in the case of the solvents, the size of the formed silica particles decreased when the molecular weight of the solvent increased. Lastly, in the case of the surfactants, the mean size of silica particles increased as the hydrophobic lipophilic balance (HLB) value of the surfactant decreased.

  • Cr(VI)-heterocyclic complex (2,2'-bipyridinium dichromate) was synthesized by the reaction between of 2,2'-bipyridine and chromium trioxide in $H_2O$, and characterized by IR and ICP. The oxidation of benzyl alcohol using 2,2'-bipyridinium dichromate in various solvents showed that the reactivity increased with the increase of the dielectric constant, in the order: cyclohexene < chloroform < acetone < N,N-dimethylformamide. In the presence of DMF solvent with acidic catalyst such as $H_2SO_4$ solution, 2,2'-bipyridinium dichromate oxidized the benzyl alcohol and its derivatives (p-$p-OCH_3$, $m-CH_3$, H, $m-OCH_3$, m-Cl, $m-NO_2$). Electron-donating substituents accelerated the reaction, whereas electron acceptor groups retarded the reaction. The Hammett reaction constant was -0.66 (303 K). The observed experimental data was used to rationalize the hydride ion transfer in the rate-determining step.

A Study on the Preparation of High Purity Silicic Acid by Solvent Extraction from Sodium Silicate (규산 나트륨으로부터 유기 용매 추출에 의한 고순도 규산 제조에 관한 연구)

  • Silicic acid(SA) was extracted with organic solvents from aqueous sodium silicate solutions acidified with dilute sulfuric acid. Tetrahydrofuran(THF), isopropyl alcohol and acetone were used as organic solvents. The extraction degree of Si and the removal efficiency of Na is determined according to kinds of solvent and the mixing ratios of solvent, sodium chloride and $H_2O$. Optimum conditions for the preparation of high purity SA were THF as an organic solvent, volume ratio of organic solvent/SA : 1 (organic solvent 10ml/10ml SA) and the amount of NaCl addition 2.5g/10ml SA. The extraction degree of Si and the removal efficiency of Na at that point were 86.2% and 99.95% respectively and the purity of SA was 99.96%.
