Although there have been a lot of researches on a video abstraction algorithm, the video abstraction tool is necessary to correctly pick up some important shots in a video because the important shots might vary on the person's subjectivity. This paper proposes a video abstraction and search system for making a video abstraction automatically or manually. Proposed system has two main components, server and client. The server generates the Metadata and makes a video abstraction file. The description for video abstraction file is based on MPEG-7. Since proposed system has a function to manually correct the results of each step, the author could produce a good video abstraction easily and efficiently. The proposed system could be used to build a digital video library.

The purpose of this study is to present a text summarization system using a knowledge base containing information about verbs and their arguments that are statistically obtained from a subject domain. The system consists of two modules: the training module and the summarization module. The training module is to extract cue verbs and their basic sentence patterns by counting the frequency of verbs and case markers respectively, and the summarization module is substantiate basic sentence patterns and to generate summaries. Basic sentence patterns are substantiated by applying substantiation rules to the syntactics structure of sentences. A summary is then produced by connecting simple sentences that the are generated through the substantiation module of basic sentence patterns. ‘robbery’in the daily newspapers are selected for a test collection. The system generates natural summaries without losing any essential information by combining both cue verbs and essential arguments. In addition, the use of statistical techniques makes it possible to apply this system to other subject domains through its learning capability.

Recently, the capability of efficient access to the desired video content is of growing importance because more digital video data are available at an increasing rate. A video summary abstracting the gist from the entirety enables the efficient browsing as well as the fast skimming of the video contents. In this paper, we discuss a novel dynamic summarization method based on the detection of highlights which represent semantically significant content and the description scheme (DS) proposed to MPEG-7 aiming to provide summary description. The summary DS proposed to MPEG-7 allows for efficient navigation and browsing to the contents of interest through the functionalities of multi-level highlights, hierarchical browsing and user-customized summarization. In this paper, we also show the validation and the usefulness of the methodology for dynamic summarization and the summary DS in real applications with soccer video sequences.

뉴스 기반의 실시간 이슈 분석을 위해서는 실시간으로 생성되는 다중 뉴스 기사 집합을 입력으로 받아 점증적으로 군집화 하고, 각 군집별 정보를 자동으로 요약하는 기술이 필요하다. 기존에는 정적인 데이터 기반의 군집화와 요약 각각에 대한 연구는 활발히 진행되고 있지만, 실시간으로 입력되는 대량의 데이터를 위한 점증적인 군집화와 요약에 대한 연구는 매우 부족하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 실시간으로 입력되는 대량의 뉴스 기사 집합을 분석하기 위한 점증적이고 계층적인 뉴스 군집화 및 다중 문서 요약 방법을 제안한다. 평가를 위해서 2016년 10월, 11월 두 달간의 실제 데이터를 사용 하였으며, 전문 교육을 받은 연구원들이 Precision at k 기반의 정성평가를 진행하였다. 그 결과, 자동으로 생성된 12개의 군집에서 군집 성능은 평균 66% (상위계층 $l_1$: 82%, 하위계층 $l_2$: 43%), 요약 성능은 평균 92%를 얻었다.

기존의 다중 문서요약은 전체 대상문서에 대해서 한번에 요약문을 생산하지만, 본 논문은 요약 대상문서 집합에서 핵심내용을 갖는 문서를 기본 문서로 선택, 임시 요약문장을 추출하고 대상문서 집합에서 순차적으로 문서를 입력받아 중요문장을 추출, 이전에 구축된 요약문장과 현재 추출된 문장을 비교하면서 요약에 필요한 문장을 선택하는 적응 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법으로 구현한 시스템은 NTCIR TSC 3에서 사용된 29개의 다중 문서집합을 통해서 성능을 평가하였다. 적응 기법 시스템은 TSC3의 baseline시스템인 Lead 방법보다는 높은 성능을 나타냈지만, TSC 3에 참가한 시스템들과의 비교에서는 월등한 성능 우위를 나타내지 못했다.

Many types of information provided through the web including news contents contain unnecessary clutters. These clutters make it difficult to build automated information processing systems such as the summarization, extraction and retrieval of documents. We propose a system that extracts and summarizes news contents from the web. The extraction system receives news contents in HTML as input and builds an element tree similar to DOM tree, and extracts texts while removing clutters with the hyperlink attribute in the HTML tag from the element tree. Texts extracted through the extraction system are transferred to the summarization system, which extracts key sentences from the texts. We implement the summarization system using co-occurrence relation graph. The summarized sentences of this paper are expected to be transmissible to PDA or cellular phone by message services such as SMS.

The main purpose of document summarization is to reduce the complexity of documents that are consisted of sub-themes. Also it is to create summarization which includes the sub-themes. This paper proposes a summarization system which could extract any salient sentences in accordance with sub-themes by using graph division. A document can be represented in graphs by using chosen representative terms through term relativity analysis based on co-occurrence information. This graph, then, is subdivided to represent sub-themes through connected information. The divided graphs are types of sentence clustering which shows a close relationship. When salient sentences are extracted from the divided graphs, summarization consisted of core elements of sentences from the sub-themes can be produced. As a result, the summarization quality will be improved.

대량의 정보를 빠르고 쉽게 검색하기 위한 많은 문서 자동 요약 시스템이 개발되고 있다. 현재에는 원문에서의 추출을 통한 방법 뿐 아니라 요약문의 생성에 초점을 두고 요약 시스템을 위해 대표 개념어 생성기를 위한 구성 방안을 제시한다. 격틀 구성을 위한 단계별 과정과 핵심어의 추출, 그리고 격틀 구성의 제한 요건을 서술한다.

비디오 데이터에서 캡션은 비디오의 중요한 부분과 내용을 나타내는 가장 보편적이 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 축구 비디오에서 캡션이 갖는 특징을 분석하고 캡션에 의한 키 프레임을 추출하도록 하며, 비디오 요약 생성 규칙에 따라 요약된 비디오를 생성하도록 한다. 키 프레임 추출은 이벤트 발생에 따른 캡션의 등장과 캡션 내용의 변화를 추출하는 것으로 탬플리트 매칭과 지역적 차영상을 통하여 추출하며 샷의 재설정 통하여 중요한 이벤트를 포함한 요약된 비디오를 생성하도록 한다.
