Characteristics of Storm Surge by Forward Speed of Typhoon in the South Coast of Korea (태풍의 이동속도에 따른 한국 남해안 폭풍해일고의 특성)

  • The damage caused by typhoons is gradually increasing due to the climate change recently. Hence, many studies have been conducted over a long period of time on various factors that determine the characteristics of storm surge, and most of relationships have been discovered. Because storm surge is complexly determined by various factors, it often show different results and draw different conclusions. For this reason, this study was conducted to understand the various characteristics of storm surge caused by changes in the forward speed of typhoons. This study was carried out with a numerical model, and the effect of forward speed could be analyzed by simplifying other factors as much as possible. When forward speed is increased, storm surges caused by typhoons tended to increase gradually. The storm surge showed a wide and gentle increase at a slow speed, but a narrow and steep one at a fast speed. In the case of the same forward speed, it was found that the storm surge was significantly influenced by the water depth of actual sea area. It was confirmed that the change in forward speed after passing Jeju Island did not significant affect on the storm surge in the south coast of Korea.

  • 분말의 압축과 소결책의 단조 공정에서 균일하고 강도 높은 제품을 얻기 위해서는 밀도 및 밀도 분포의 조절이 매우 중요하다. 이 연구에서는 재료의 밀도 변화 특성을 고려할 수 있고, 임계 밀도 이하에서도 적용시킬 수 있는 다공질 재료의 항복조건을 유한요소법에 적용시켜 업셋 단조, 3차원 압흔 공정을 해석하였다.

Analysis of Chloride ion Penetration for In-Situation Harbor Concrete Structures (현장 항만 콘크리트 구조물에 대한 염소이온 침투 해석)

  • The chloride penetration model, which considers diffusion and sorption, is proposed. The FEM program developed on the basis of the diffusion and sorption model provides the estimation of chloride concentration variation according to cyclic humidity and temperature. The humidity diffusion analysis is carried out, and the chloride ion diffusion and sorption analysis are conducted on the basis of the pre-estimated humidity data in each element. Each element has different variables at different ages and locations in analysis. At early ages, the difference of relative humidity between inner and outer concretes causes the chloride ion penetration by sorption. As the humidity diffusion reduces the difference of relative humidity between inner md outer concretes with age, the effect of sorption on the chloride ion penetration decreases with age. The cyclic humidity increases the effect of sorption on the chloride ion penetration at early ages, and increases the quantity of chloride ion around steel at later ages. Therefore, the in-situ analysis of chloride ion Penetration for harbor concrete structures must be Performed considering the cyclic humidity conditionandthelongtermsorption.

  • In this paper, a novel moving least squares interface welding method is proposed to carry out the coupled analysis of whole model composed of independently modeled finite element substructures with nodal mismatching interfaces. To verify the validity, and efficiency of the proposed interface welding method, various numerical examples are worked out including patch tests, convergence tests, and examples of coupled analyses of the structural systems with mismatching substructures. From the numerical tests, it is confirmed that one can efficiently carry out the coupled analysis of whole model composed of mismatching finite element substructures through the proposed method without any remeshing or any additional unknown.

  • Modern multidisciplinary computational fluid dynamics often incorporates moving boundaries, as would be required in the applications such as design optimization, aeroelasticity, or forced boundary motion. It is challenging to develop robust, efficient grid deformation algorithms when large displacement of the moving boundaries is required. In this paper, a volume grid deformation code is developed based on the finite macro-element and the transfinite Interpolation, and then interfaces to a structured multi-block Navier-Stokes in-house code. As demonstrated by an airfoil with pitching motion, the hysteresis loops of lift, drag and moment coefficients of the developed method are shown to be in good agreement with those of experimental data.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the stress distribution in the periodontal tissue and the displacement of teeth when active torque was applied to the maxillary incisors by three-dimensional finite element analysis A three-dimensional finite element model consisted of the maxillary teeth and surrounding periodontal membrane, $.022{\times}.028$ Roth prescription bracket and stainless steel, NiTi and TMA rectangular ideal arch wires which were modeled by hexahedron elements. Applied active torques were 2, 5 and 10 degrees ThHe findings of this study showed that the reaction force acting or the bracket was the extrusion force on the mesial side of the incisors and canine and the intrusion force on the distal side of the incisors and canine. The amount of force and moment was greatest at the lateral incisor. When active anterior labial crown torque was applied. labial crown and distal tipping and Intrusion of the incisors took place. and lingual crown distal tipping and extrusion of the canine occured. An excessive force was concentrated on the lateral incisor, when the stainless steel wire was used NiTi or TMA wire is desirable for torque control.

  • 현재 가장 중요하고 대중적인 통신수단으로 인식되고 있는 인터넷은 VoIP 기술을 이용하여 전화통신을 지원할 수 있게 되었다 VoIP 기술의 두드러진 장점은 기존의 인터넷망에 대해 추가적인 수정없이 음성전화 서비스를 통합함으로써 회선비용을 크게 절감하고, 단말의 이동성을 지원한다는 것이다. 이러한 장점으로 인해 VoIP는 향후의 네트워터에서 핵심 요소로 그 중요성이 점차 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 VoIP 기술들 중 프로토콜 자체에 개인 이동성 지원이 명시되어 있고, 효과적인 이동호스트의 지원이 가능만 SIP을 기반으로 하여 단말이 이동중에 수신하는 beacon 신호의 감도와 빈도를 저장하여 예상 핸드오버 셀을 결정하는 SS buffer 메커니즘과 SIP server를 이용하여 계층적 이동성을 처리하는 hybrid mode를 갖춘 이동성지원 기법을 제안한다.

  • 무선 LAN은 기존의 유선 LAN 기능을 무선 주파수를 전송 매체로 이용하여 제공할 수 있도록 하고자 하는 것으로, 높은 전송 대역폭을 지원해 주는 기술 표준화와 단말 가격의 인하로 빠르게 대중화에 성공하고 있다. 무선 LAN에서의 빠른 이동성지원(fast handoff) 은 QoS가 요구되는 서비스를 지원하기 위한 필수적인 요소이다. 현재의 이동성 방안은 단말이 AP의 존재를 파악하고 이동할지를 결정하는 방법인데, 이와 같은 방법은 단말에 부하가 많고 시간이 오래걸리게 되며 이동을 결정하는 데 알수 있는 정보도 제약된다. 논문에서는 단말의 부하를 줄이고 더 빠르게 이동성을 지원할수 있는 방법으로 AP가 단말의 존재를 파악하고 단말에게 이동 정보를 알려주는 방법을 제시한다.
