Economic crisis in Korea since December 1997 had tremendously affected consumer behavior. This study examined consumer perception of the economic crisis and investigated its impacts on consumer ethnocentrism and purchase behaviors of foreign products. Two product categories of clothing and cosmetics were selected fro empirical testing. Data were obtained from a questionnaire survey to female consumers in Korea during September 1998, and 468 responses were analyzed. The consumer perception of the economic crisis(PCEP) scale was developed for the study. Correlation and regression analyses revealed: 1) the positive relationship between PCEP and consumer ethnocentrism(ETHN); 2) the positive effects of attitude toward foreign products(ATTI) on actual purchase of foreign products since the economic crisis(PB) and on purchase intention of foreign products(PI) for both clothing and cosmetics; 3) the negative effect of ETHN on PI for both product categories; and 4) the negative effects of PCEP on PB and PI for clothing.

To control the indoor humidity, humidifier is installed in an air handling unit. Up to now, foreign product made of glasswool has been widely used as a humidifying element. In this study, a new humidifying element made of cellulose and PET was tested, and the performance was compared with Glasdek element, which is made of glasswool. Mass transfer rates and pressure drops were measured from the element which was installed at the entrance of the suction-type wind tunnel. Results show that, $j_m$ and f factors of the new element are 33%~39% larger and 0%~51% smaller than those of Glasdek. Large water absorption capacity and the smoothness of the new element appear to be responsible for the large $j_m$ and small f factor. The mass transfer effectivenesses ($j_m/f^{1/3}$) of the new element are 36%~63% larger than those of Glasdek.

전자상거래의 트래픽이 엄청나게 증가하고 많은 사용자들이 안전한 온라인 거래를 요구함에 따라 고속 암호연산 프로세서의 필요성은 증대되고 있다. 고속 암호연산 프로세서란 복잡한 연산이 많은 암호방식의 연산 속도를 가속시키기 위한 보조프로세서이다. 본 고에서는 암호 사업분야 중 고속 암호연산 프로세서의 필요성을 알아보고 국내·외제품들을 분류한 뒤 프로세서들의 기능, 성능비교 및 안전성을 위주로 조사·분석하였다. 또한 고속 암호연산 프로세서의 전망 및 발전방향을 알아보고 프로세서가 사용되는 SSL가속기, IPSec가속기, HSM, 스마트카드 제품들의 성능을 위주로 소개하기로 한다.

가정용기기의 내수동향은 제품의 고급화, 대형화로 고가품의 수요가 증가한 반면 수입자유화 이후 우리 국민의 사치풍조, 외제선호등으로 국산 가전제품의 판매가 둔화되는 추세이다. 오디오는 전년대비 41.8%의 비교적 안정된 신장세다.

5년 동안 진행된 고진공 펌프 개발 사업의 일환으로 맥동관형 냉동기에 활성탄 어레이를 장착한 흡기구 직경 14인치 국산 크라이오펌프 완제품이 만들어졌다. 이미 지난해에 완성한 시제품을 가지고 모든 배기성능시험을 완료하고 목표를 뛰어 넘는 성능을 가지고 있음을 입증하였지만 완제품의 경우는 현장에서 스퍼터링 공정에 대한 신뢰성과 열적 내구성 시험이 중요한 항목으로 대두되었다. 개발된 펌프를 생산 공정에 직접 투입하는 모험을 하지 않으면서도 신뢰성을 확보하는 방편으로 카이스트 나노종합팹 센터에서 가동중인 스퍼터링 장비에 완제품을 달고 기존 공정과 같은 방식으로 장치를 운영하면서 외제 상용품을 사용했을 때와 진공성능 및 공정수율을 비교하는 시험을 수행하였다. 또 내구성 시험 항목으로 열부하 시험과 열 사이클 시험을 수행하였다. 열부하 시험은 300도까지 온도를 올릴 수 있는 열판을 펌프 흡기구 배플 앞에 설치하여, 냉동기 2차 냉각단 온도가 20 K 이하로 유지될 수 있는 최대 허용 복사열을 측정하는 방식으로 진행되었으며 열 사이클 시험은 크라이오 펌프의 활성화 기능을 활용하여 완전 활성화(full regen., 10K-300K-10K) 과정을 10회 연속 시행하여 펌프의 배기성능과 기계적 이상 유무를 관찰하였다.
