Effect of Tamping Materials on the External Charge Blasting of Structural Members (부재 절단을 위한 외부장약 발파의 전색효과)

  • External charges with four different kinds of tamping materials are tested to determine the effect of tamping on the blasting of steel components and concrete blocks. The tamping materials used are tamping cap, urethane foam, sand bag and mud. As a result, the tamping cap, urethane foam, and sand bag show no significant effect of tamping. But the mud tamping shows that the charge amount can be reduced by more than 20% in completely cutting the structural components. In addition, it is found from the test that the standard equation for calculating the proper charge is rather conservative, which means the equation overestimates the necessary charge for the blasting.

  • TNT was blasted on the surface of steel plates and concrete block to study the effect of separation distance between object and charge. The equation of US Army Corps of Engineers turned out to be rather conservative. Effect of separation distance is larger for steel plate than concrete block. Steel plate cannot be cut by standard or more charge in the case of 2 cm separation while the concrete block can be crushed with the same distance.

  • Controlling the blast-induced damage zone(BDZ) in mining excavation is a significant issue for the safety of employees and the maintenance of facilities. Numerous studies have been conducted to accurately predict the BDZ in underground mining. This study employed the dynamic fracture process analysis (DFPA) to estimate the BDZ from a single hole blasting. The estimated BDZ were compared with the results obtained by Swedish empirical equation. The DFPA was also used to investigate the control mechanism of BDZ and fracture plane formation around perimeter holes for underground mining blasting.

  • A locally damaged structure is a structure that cannot be reused due to having parts that have lost their structural function as a result of abnormal load across the interior or exterior of the structure. The causes of the abnormal load occurrences can be classified into natural disaster and artificial disaster. Locally damaged structures caused by this abnormal load have risk factors that may lead to the possibility of additional secondary collapses, so such structures require immediate and complete dismantling. The case presented in this study involves the application of explosive demolition to a steel truss structured bridge in the Philippines that was damaged due to construction failures and the hurricane. Although shaped charges were needed in explosive demolitions, difficulties in locally obtaining such material. So, we made a charge container to charging of emulsion explosive during the explosive demolition. The explosive demolition resulted in the vertical free fall of the mid-section of the bridge and the free fall rotating of the both end section of the bridge. The neighboring posts and bridge piers did not show signs of damages, while post-demolition fragmentation of removed parts was found to be satisfactory.

  • When emulsion explosives(1kg/cartridge) are loaded into a long vertical borehole at open blasting site, they undergo an Impact corresponding to 117.6J of shock energy. After shocking. the crystallization of emulsion nay happen immediately. Furthermore, it nay cause a desensitization, arising from increase in the density of emulsion explosive by the breakage of sensitizer. In this paper, some experimental work was performed using PVC pipe equipment(50mm diameter and 12m lengths) to investigate the effects of loading impart of emulsion explosive. It is shown that detonation energy decreases up to 26% of the normal state value and this effect is less than 3% of the total performance of emulsion explosives in borehole blasting.

  • 본 기술사례는 과학기술부가 주도하는 자연재해방재기술개발 국가중점연구사업 중 기상청주관의 기상지진기술개발사업의 한반도 지각속도 구조연구 과제 중 서산지역과 포항지역을 연결하는 200km 측선에서 2차원 지각구조를 밝히기 위한 지각규모 굴절파탐사의 지진동 source 제공을 위해 발파로 실시하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 국내에서는 거의 실행해 본 경우가 없는 지발당 장약량이 500~1000kg발파를 실시하였다. 200개의 계측지점에 지진동이 전달될 수 있도록 충분한 폭속을 가진 폭약과 외부의 충격과 우수한 기폭력, 시차가 정확한 비전기뇌관을 특수 제작하여 사용하였다. 시추공내로 유출되는 물에 의한 사압을 방지하기 위하여 폭약은 철관용기를 제작하여 벌크형태로 장약을 하여 발파를 하였다. 발파전 용기 밀폐 시험 및 용기제작 후 기폭실험, 수압작용으로 인한 폭약 및 뇌관에 미치는 영향 등을 실험을 통하여 사전 파악을 하였다. 또한 실제 발파 중 진동차를 측정한 결과 보안물건에 대한 진동치값은 미광무국식(USBM)을 이용하여 예측한 진동치보다 평균 180% 정도 높게 나타났다.

  • With the recent industrial developments and economic development nationally, there has been a rapidly increasing demand for the use of underground space as locations for establishing social infrastructure and various convenience facilities. In this study, a mist-control system was developed to reduce the generation of dust in underground blasting. To enhance the dust-reduction effect, a guiding device was developed which is capable of adjusting the direction of the spray toward's the blasting face of mine or tunnel. A numerical analysis was performed by using the AUTODYN software, and results were compared with those published in basic experiments. To verify the mist-diffusion effect according to the position of explosives in a water bag, numerical analyses were conducted for the following cases: Explosives were set in the middle, and in the bottom of the water bag. The optimum condition was external detonation and center charge. The mist particle size from the result was suitable for the reduction of dust after blasting in underground mine and tunnel.

  • This case study which is to make 2-Dimension earth's crust structures clearly is about the great boring-hole blasting to provide ground vibration source of the reflected wave research on the Korean Peninsula earth's crust structures research. For this study we've done blasting twice-500 ㎏/charge per delay, 1,000 ㎏/charge per delay, and the specifications of blasting are the following - dia.: 300 ㎜, boring-depth : 100m, besides, we used the explosives and electric detonators which have sufficient detonating velocity and very excellent safety, capacity of detonating, accurate delay time. We charged explosives into steel pipe with bulk type to avoid dead pressure by ground water. And then we tested about pipe airtight and blasting to certificate which has no problem by using on this study. In the results, we succeeded each blasting in Seosan, Youngdong. For the Peak Sum Vector(PSV) around the blasting at the main points, its real measured PSV is higher 180 % than estimated PSV with USBM. In this study we can't to be analysis of vibration velocity, but to be key providing vibration source.
