A Theoretical Approach of Ambulatory Care Facilities in the U.S.A. (미국 외래환자 진료시설의 이론적 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study is to define the problems associated with ambulatory care facilities, to classify the types of ambulatory care facilities, to examine significant architectural case studies, and to point the way toward enhanced architectural solutions for healthier ambulatory health care service environments for the patients. The case study will provide a brief introduction to the selected cases and examine planning concepts and design factors.

A Study on Influence to Satisfaction of Outpatients in a General Hospital (일개 종합병원의 외래환자 만족도 영향요인에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 병원을 이용하는 외래환자들의 불만족요인과 만족요인들을 조사하여 보다 높은 고객만족 경영을 위한 기초자료를 제시하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 대전에 소재하는 일개의 종합병원 외래환자를 대상으로 2011년 10월 24일 1일간 설문조사를 실시하였다. 자료 수집은 총 160부의 설문지를 배포하여 144부를 통계분석자료로 이용하였다. 연구결과 행정지원부문의 특성 중 전반적 만족도와 타인추천 의향에 대하여 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 요인은 접수 수납 절차의 신속 간편성인 편리성으로 나타났으며 검사실 외래 진료대기실의 쾌적성도 공통으로 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이상과 같은 결과 고객을 만족시킬 수 있는 고객지향적 병원경영시스템을 구축 운영한다면 병원의 경쟁력은 향상되고 병원의 지속가능성은 높아질 것이며 고객만족경영이라는 경영목표도 달성될 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

  • The medicine development and upwardly raised standard of living brings out the increased dental needs at dental hospital OPD. The dental college hospital, follows up the raised dental needs, was subdivided by specialized dental office. And now a specialized dental office needs co-work with the other specialized dental office for special dental illness and treatment. The purpose of this study is to provide a proper area distribution and location of each specialized dental office and relationship between dental office, clinic and other department by analyzing the space, area and characteristics of dental hospital OPD. The results could be used for helping its users, of patients and dentists.

  • Recently, hospital architecture is in the transition period which faces a great change. Patients' demands on medical services have been changing and hospitals have been feeling the need to innovate their facilities in order to prepare for the upcoming challenges in the field such as global competition, market opening, etc. In addition, every hospitals requires the creative and novel design which is different from the conventional concept to deal with various circumstances. Accordingly, various space arrangements are proposed against the past unified hospital type. This study is designed to consider and evaluate the prospects of hospital architecture by analyzing the space allocation type of representative hospitals which are being recently constructed in Korea.

  • Purpose : This study examined the social and environmental change in the outpatient department of psychiatry, were analyzed disease characteristics and using characteristics of the mental illness. Thus, this aims to provide a material that can be used for efficient spatial composition of psychiatry. Methods : This study was conducted through a literature review, observation surveys, interviews. Results : Psychiatry is aware of the need to respond to the current needs of ambulatory space, there are concerns that the spatial configuration for your needs. In accordance with the results of studies conducted are as follows: 1) Specialty care programs and space needs based on segmentation and specialization of the disease 2) Considered in conjunction with the layout of essential space and other departments 3) Spatial composition and furnishings for characteristic of psychiatry 4) Spatial configuration taking into account the patient's characteristic. Implications : This study looked at the change of social change and the environment related to psychiatry. Grasp the present state of spatial composition in psychiatry. And the use characteristics of patients and guardians were investigated. Meanwhile, studies of psychiatric outpatient department is still lacking. As a result, its significance is to analyze the spatial composition requirements.

Study on customer management analysis model for one General Hospital (일개 종합병원 고객관리 모형구축에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to provide basic data for a higher level of customer satisfaction by investigating the satisfaction factors of and dissatisfaction factors for the outpatients. The survey was conducted with the outpatients in a general hospital located in Daejeon on October 24, 2011. A total of 160 questionnaires were distributed and 144 copies were used as the statistical analysis. As a result of the research, it is found that convenience is the most influential factor to affect on the overall satisfaction and willingness to recommend to other people among the characteristics of the administrative support division, which is the quickness and simplicity of the admission and receipt procedure, and it is also found that the comfortability of examination room and outpatient treatment waiting room affects on it in common. In conclusion, it is considered that if a customer-oriented hospital management system is built and operated for the satisfaction of customers, the competitiveness of hospital will be improved and the sustainability of hospital will increase and the business goal that is customer satisfaction management will be achieved.

Enhancing the Client Satisfaction through Improving the Quality of Hospital Administration Services (병원행정 서비스의 품질 향상을 통한 고객만족도 제고 방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest plans to enhance client satisfaction through improving the quality of hospital administration services. For accomplishing the purpose, we conducted empirical research with classifying hospital administration services into administrative staff service, medical staff service, facility service, and institutional service. Based on the results of this study, suggestions were made as follows for improving the quality of hospital administration services. First, in administrative staff service, detailed explanations should be provided about the items of medical bills, and patients' waiting time should be reduced through fast processing and smooth cooperation among departments. Second, in medical staff service, the process of medical service should be simplified for the accurate observance of appointment schedules, and the time to start outpatient service and the time to complete the discharge process should be earlier than now. Third, in facility service, convenient facilities and resting places should be prepared, parking facilities should be expanded, and menus should be improved for clients. Fourth, in institutional service, detailed medical service costs contents should be disclosed and plans should be made for the efficiency of services.

Efficiency Evaluation of General Hospitals using DEA (DEA를 이용한 종합병원의 효율성 평가)

  • Unlike profit-seeking businesses, hospitals provide medical services to promote the public good in a way, and they need a reform of management to ensure sustainable growth in fast-changing medical environments. The key to the managerial reform is enhancing efficiency, and inefficient managerial practices and factors affecting that should be grasped first of all to boost the efficiency of hospital management. But evaluation methods that are prevalent in the private sector are hardly applicable to hospitals. The purpose of this study was to assess hospital efficiency by using a data envelopment analysis(DEA). The 2006 data on 74 residency training hospitals with 500 beds or more were analyzed. The selected input variables included the number of bed, the number of doctors, the number of nurses, the number of medical technicians, personnel expenses, management cost and materials cost. And the selected output variables were the yearly number of outpatients, the yearly number of inpatients, the number of operation cases and earnings. In addition, the influence of the type of hospital establishment, location, the year of foundation and the type of hospital on hospital efficiency was checked as well.

A Study on the User Behavior in the Outpatient Department of Psychiatry (외래진료부문 정신건강의학과 이용자 행태 관찰 연구)

  • Purpose: This study is to derive the behavioral characteristics of the users appear in the outpatient department of psychiatry. Methods: By referencing John Zeisel's Tools for environment-behavior research, observation of user behavior and expert interviews as a method of the study has been carried out. Results: The results of this study are as follows. First, adjacent placement among children, youth and regular the outpatient department of psychiatry is necessary and easy access to internal medicine department and family medicine department is required in order to allow cooperated treatments. Secondly, depending on the characteristics of the outpatient department of psychiatry treatment, adjustment of space requirement or the change of kinds of necessary space is required. Third, considering the psychological and behavioral characteristics of mental illness and guardians, various search for the environment that can support this. Implications: This study is a basic research for space improvement and evaluation of the outpatient department of psychiatry, and need to be followed by further study using various perspectives and methods.
