This study analyzed and compared the importance and priority of location decision factors in Foreign Direct Investment Firms managing the manufacturing business in the nation's southeastern economic zone, and in expert group by using AHP analytical technique based on examining the location theory and the prior research of real estate for industry. Also, it analyzed difference in importance and priority for location factors by corporate scale, by business category, and by location type targeting only foreign direct investment firms, and offered references necessary for location decision-making. In addition, to elicit useful information for policy related to location decision factors for foreign direct investment firms, the implications were elicited by analyzing the results recognized between foreign direct investment firms and expert group on information elements regarding investment satisfaction, business bottlenecks, and location decision process. The considerable gap was indicated in importance and priority of location decision factors considered between the nation's foreign direct investment firms and real-estate expert group for industry. As a result of analyzing by reflecting the corporate characteristic variable in location assessment model unlike before, the importance of the competitive advantage factor and the business strategic factor was indicated to be very high.

The main aim of this paper is to contribute to building some strategic foundations for future Korean foreign investors in Cambodia by investigating trends and institutional changes in inward foreign direct investment and working conditions in Cambodia. Rapid increase in labor costs, and investment incentives centering on high-tech industries in China and Vietnam has led to the relocation of labor-intensive industries into low wage countries since the early 2000. As a result, Cambodia has emerged as a new alternative investment region in which enable to off-set existing locational and institutional advantages, so that it has implicated in changes in Asian economic geographies. In addition, the Cambodian government has operated two labor relations projects - Better Factory Cambodia and Labor Dispute Resolution Project - with ILO to improve the working conditions of foreign investment firms. These projects could provide an insight into constructing strategies for foreign investment, and also imply institutional embeddedness in Cambodia.

This study analyzed the relevance between investment horizons of foreign investors and Book-Tax Difference. To do this, we measured investment horizons of foreign investors as the investment-turnover of foreign investors. We use the sample of 3,025 firm-year Korea listed companies belonging to non-financial corporate sector during 2011-2016. The results of empirical analyses show that investment horizons of foreign investors has a negative relevance with Book-Tax Difference. This result indicates that the firm have a long-term foreign investors has a good Accounting Earning's Quality than the firm have a short-term foreign investors. This study is expected to provide useful information by suggesting the need for more incentive for the long-term foreign investors. And Our Study has a contribution that this study extended prior research on foreign investors by utilizing investment horizons of foreign investors.

Attracting advanced foreign enterprises into the less-developed regions has gained increasing importance as a regional development strategy in Korea. This study critically examines the foreign-direct investment-led regional development strategy of Wales, United Kingdom. Despite a high FDI inflow in manufacturing, the Welsh regional economy has suffered from specialization in low-skilled assembly with limited R&D activities, insufficient linkage with local domestic suppliers, and violent fluctuation in local employment in response to changes within the global business environment. This tendency shows that the foreign-invested companies have neither locally embedded themselves enough nor created the external agglomeration economies in the region. At the same time, the Welsh local government's excessive dependence on financial incentives packages to induce multinationals, rather than effort to create regional innovative capacity, has resulted in a sizable fiscal loss, an abused local planning process, and subordination of the local government's major administrative decision-making on foreign investors. The Welsh FDI case suggests that an effective FDI attraction policy should include inter-regional cooperation and coordination in the inward investment attraction procedure, a comprehensive land use planning process, and state-level concrete governance on FDI.

This study investigate the spatial characteristics and corporate networks of foreign business service firms in Korea. Specifically intrafirm and extrafirm organization of foreign firms are addressed utilizing the corporate network perspective. For this purpose, this study conducted questionnaire and interview surveys for the foreign firms. Parent-subsidiary relationships are focused on the mechanisms by which Transnational Corporations (TNCs) headquarters control and coordinate their foreign affiliates and subsidiaries in order to achieve investment purpose in Korea (overseas market expansion). But extrafirm networks of foreign business services firms in Korea do not appear to play an important role in regional development to date. A low proportion of foreign firms is engaged in academics-industry linkages, and a low number o( foreign firms is formally linked with government organizations, research institutes, and trade associations. To conclude, Foreign direct investment firms in business services in Korea are characteristics by globalized intrafirm networks and localized interfirm and extrafirm networks. It is understood that regional development can be vitalized when Korean local firms have close relationships with technologically advanced foreign firms in tacit knowledge capacity. Foreign firms are able to play an important role in the development of business services in Korea. This study suggests that regional foreign direct investment policy should be targeted towards the corporate networking with foreign firms and domestic firms and incrementation of the potential of foreign firms as a knowledge-intensive industry.

This paper suggests the strategy for attracting FDI in Gwangju and Jeonnam region using the secondary data collected by homepage of Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Gwangju City, and Jeollanam-do. The strategy for attracting FDI in Gwangju and Jeonnam region is as follows: First, the local governments of Gwangju and Jeonnam must progressively attract FDI by adjusting to the Korean government's regional industry policy direction. Second, in order to attract FDI consistently, the local governments of Gwangju and Jeonnam must enhance the ability of local officials to attract FDI. Third, in order to attract FDI effectively, the local governments of Gwangju and Jeonnam must build a complete system to support FDI. Fourth, in order to attract FDI effectively, the local governments of Gwangju and Jeonnam have to apply different investment incentives according to FDI effectiveness. Fifth, the local governments of Gwangju and Jeonnam must consistently support foreign companies in order to induce FDI expansion by foreign companies which have already invested in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions. Finally, in order to attract FDI consistently, the local governments of Gwangju and Jeonnam must improve the negative images and living environments of the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.

Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) has played a vital role in the economic growth of Pakistan. The objective of this paper is to review the literature on the Pakistan's FDI law and explore possibilities for research. We focus on the Foreign Private Investment (Promotion and Protection) Act 1976, Furtherance and Protection of Economic Reforms Act 1992, and Foreign Currency Accounts (Protection) Ordinance 2001. Major concern seems to be frequent change in policies, lack of follow up for effective implementation of the good decisions above all the law.
