The effect of circuit weight training on body composition and physical fitness of middle-aged women for 12 week (12주간의 순환근력운동이 중년여성의 신체조성 및 기초체력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 12-week circuit weight training on their body composition and physical fitness in middle aged women. A total of 34 subjects of did not have any physical abnormalities or diseases, and the subjects were 12-week circuit weight training. The results of this study were as following : Body composition component examination showed that the body weight, body fat percentage and waist measurement showed differences that were statistically significant. And the physical fitness component examination showed that muscular endurance, flexibility, agility, and cardiovascular endurance showed differences that were statistically significant. But muscular strength and reflexes showed differences that were not statistically significant. These results suggest that the circuit weight-training had an effect on body composition and physical fitness examination results over 12-week. Therefore, we consider that the circuit weight training is recommended to middle-age women to improve body fat percentage and physical strength.

Prediction of VO2max Using Submaximal PACER in Obese Middle School Boys (최대하 PACER 검사를 통한 비만 남자 중학생의 VO2max 추정)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the equation of $\dot{V}O_{2max}$ by $sub_{max}imal$ PACER method for obese middle school boys. For this, $_{max}$imal test using Bruce protocol in lab was performed and then PACER $_{max}imal$ test with portable $\dot{V}O_{2max}$ equipment. To decide the level of submaximal test, during PACER with portable equipment, we found the section in which target hreat rate(over 75%$HR_{max}$) and then per section(75%,80%,85%,90%,95%) metabolic responses were recorded, with which we analyzed multiple regression by stepwise method. Model 1(at 90%$HR_{max}$): $\dot{V}O_{2max}$(ml/kg/min) = 142.721-0.275(repetition)-0.48(HR)+0.177(weight)-1.536(age)[%error 3.90ml/kg/min; performance until 2 stage(13 repetition)]. Model 2(at 95%$HR_{max}$): $\dot{V}O_{2max}$(ml/kg/min) = 182.851-0.103(repetition)-0.744(HR)+0.186(weight)-0.324(age)[%error 4.51ml/kg/min; performance until 3 stage(25 repetitions)]. estimated $\dot{V}O_{2max}$ from Model 1 was different about $3.25{\pm}6.32ml/kg/min$(%error=6.84%), otherwise model 2 was $3.16{\pm}4.54ml/kg/min$(%error=5.75%). considering %HRmax, as the submaximal test model 1 might be fit more than model 2 for obese middle school boys.

  • Recently, rolling stock technology has rapidly developed. Nevertheless, ride quality and vibration vibration on vehicle still need more study. EMU to be operated on SMRT Line 7(SR001) extension section is applied to oil-free reciprocating air compressor considering maintainability and convenience of inspection. But reciprocating air compressor compresses the air by back-and-forth motion of piston, and spreads the vibration to surrounding structures by its force of inertia. Optimum design of mounting bracket is able to reduce the vibration. As a result, we analyzed the frequency spectrum on vibration upon value by measuring vibration during operation of air compressor. On this study, we comprehend the vibration transmission process of reciprocating air compressor and consider the measure for reducing vibration by minimizing propagation of vibration.

  • An experimental study on convection heat transfer characteristics from a heated tube to an oscillating flow has been carried out, . This problem is of particular interest in the design of heat exchangers in Stirling cycle machines. Experimental system has been developed to measure temporal variations of temperature inside a heater tube during oscillating modes in a Stirling cycle machine. The dependence of temperature distributions and heat transfer rates on the oscillating frequency as well as the swept volume ratio and the mean pressure of a Stirling cycle machine is investigated in detail. The experimental results indicate that the measured temporal variations of temperature become nearly sinusoidal. The amplitude of temperature variation in the core of the tube is much more substantial than that near the tube wall, whereas the reverse is true for pulsating flows. It is also found that the heat transfer rate is increased significantly as the oscillating frequency or oscillating amplitude or the mean pressure in a tube is increased.

  • The method of simulation for ballistic feeding mechanical system is presented. Taking photograph of roller drived by a force of explosion, searches the motion of roller. The algorithm that a motion of roller is converted into a motion of cam is presented. Using central difference method, the angular velocity and acceleration of cam is evaluated.

  • 전자 액츄에이터의 일종인 LPM(linear pulse motor)은 직선왕복 운동을 필요로 하는 모든 응용기기의 구동에 적합한 선형 전동기로서 직접구동(direct drive)방식을 채택함으로써 회전형 전동기를 사용하는것과는 달리 감속장치, 동력전달 기구가 불필요하여 전체시스템의 구성에서 부품의 수를 줄일 수 있기 때문에 제품의 신뢰성이 향상되고 소형경량화 할 수 있다. 또한 LPM은 기계적 구조가 간단하고 비접속 직접구동이 가능하므로 기기의 특성 변화가 적고 보수성이 우수한 성능을 가지고 있다.

  • Aerodynamic characteristics for two-dimensional cyclic motion profile of flapping airfoil in low Reynolds number flows are investigated. Plunging motion and lead-lag motion in the two dimensional space with different plunging and lead-lag amplitudes are combined to cyclic motion profile and the flow around the airfoil is simulated. Present result shows that the improved aerodynamic efficiencies for a given flapping airfoil by adding periodic lead-lag motion of airfoil rather than the pure plunging case. The thrust coefficient and lift coefficient are compared with each cycle during the flapping period and aerodynamic characteristics are obtained on upstroke motion and downstroke motion.

  • This paper describes a detailed experimental investigation of heat transfer in a reciprocating rectangular channel fitted with rib structures with particular reference to the design of a piston for marine propulsive diesel engine. The parametric test matrix involves Reynolds number, reciprocating frequency, and reciprocating radius, respectively in the ranges, 1,000~6,000, 1.7~2.5 Hz, and 7~15 cm with four different rib arrangements. The rib arrangements have considerable influences on the heat transfer in the reciprocating channel due to the modified vortex flow structure. The experimental data confirm that the increases in the heat transfer can be seen in order of Case (b), Case (c), Case (d), and Case (a).

  • This Paper describes a detailed experimental investigation of heat transfer in a reciprocating smooth rectangular duct having only the bottom wall heated with reference to the design of a piston for a marine propulsive diesel engine The Parametric test matrix involves Reynolds number and reciprocating radius, respectively, in the range of 1.280∼4.100, and 7∼15 cm with five different reciprocating frequency tested. namely. 1.7, 2.2, and 2.6 Hz. The effects of three different hemi-triangular wavy type tapers on the heat transfer in the reciprocating rectangular channel using the air as a working fluid were check out. The present work confirms that the Nusselt number in the channel with the triangular wavy type taper is lower than without the triangular wavy type taper.
