The Effect of Spanwise Flow and Wing Rotation on the Aerodynamic Characteristics in Flapping Motion (날개 길이방향 유동과 날개 회전이 날개짓 운동의 공기역학적 특성에 미치는 효과)

  • In a 3-D flapping motion, the spanwise flow is generated while the wing is moved on the stroke plane. And at the end of each stroke, the rotational circulation is generated due to a wing rotation. In this study, to evaluate the effect of spanwise flow and wing rotation on the aerodynamic characteristics in 3-D flap 753ping motion, a 3-D flapping motion was compared with a 2-D translating motion. In each flapping motion, the aerodynamic forces were measured with respect to the angles of attack and Reynolds number. The aerodynamic forces generated by 2-D translating motion were higher than those generated by 3-D flapping motion. While the lift of 3-D flapping motion was increased until the angle of attack $60^{\circ}$ at mid-stroke, the lift generated by 2-D translating motion was decreased above the angle of attack 40° at mid stroke. Also, at the end of each stroke, the aerodynamic forces were increased rapidly due to wing rotation.

  • 2kW급 선형 압축기용 액츄에이터로 직선 왕복 운동을 동작하게 하기 위하여 2상 영구자석형 횡자속 선형 전동기(Permanent Magnet Transverse Flux Linear Machine; PM-TFLM)와 스프링을 조합하여 선형 공진 시스템을 구성하였다. 선형전동기의 이동자를 공진점부근에서 왕복 운동을 하기 위해서 빠른 왕복 운전과 적절한 운전 알고리즘이 필요하게 된다. 먼저 2상으로 이루어진 PM-TFLM의 순시 토오크 제어를 위하여 벡터 제어 알고리즘을 설계하여 구현하고 피스톤, 스피링 및 부하에 따라 운전제어를 수행하는 방법에 대하여 연구를 하였다. 종래의 3상 교류 전동기의 순시 토오크 제어에 적용하는 벡터제어 알고리즘을 2상 PM-TFLM에 적용하여 그 타당성을 보이고 빠른 왕복운전을 안정적으로 수행함을 실험을 통하여 입증하였다.

Comparison vibration characteristics of several wireless endodontic handpieces (여러 근관치료용 무선 핸드피스의 진동양상 비교)

  • Purpose: Wireless endodontic handpieces (WEH) are widely used in dental clinics due to their convenience and portability. This study aimed to compare the vibration magnitudes and patterns generated by five WEH. Materials and Methods: Vibration acceleration of five WEH (X-Smart IQ, E connect S, Endo A Class, ENDOIT, and TRAUS ENDO) in the rotary and reciprocating motion was measured with accelerometer The average vibration acceleration was analyzed using the t-test, Welch's ANOVA test, and Dunnett T3 test at P < 0.05. Results: In all WEH, the average vibration acceleration in reciprocating motion was significantly higher than that in rotary motion (P < 0.001). In rotary motion, repeated vibration graphs of constant amplitude were obtained without sudden changes in the magnitude of vibration, and the average vibration acceleration value was high in the order of X Smart IQ, Endo A Class, ENDOIT, E Connect S, and TRAUS ENDO (P < 0.001), there was no statistically significant difference between X Smart IQ and Endo A Class. In reciprocating motion, a vibration graph was obtained in which large amplitude peaks appear at specific points within one cycle are repeated. The average vibration acceleration value was highest in the order of X Smart IQ, E Connect S, Endo A class, ENDOIT, and TRAUS ENDO (P < 0.001). Conclusion: Regardless of the type of WEH, greater vibration occurred in the reciprocating motion than in the rotary motion (P < 0.001). In the reciprocating motion, there was a difference in vibration for all handpieces (P < 0.001).

An Experimental Investigation of Dry Friction Noise for Several Metallic Materials (금속 재질별 건성 마찰소음 실험적 특성 연구)

  • The onset characteristics of friction-induced noise for a steel plate and 4 metallic pins (Cu, Ni, Al, Mg) were studied through the pin-on-disk machine and the reciprocating testing machine. The results showed that the negative slope of the friction curve was related to the onset time of friction noise. Particularly, Cu was found to be the best metallic material for preventing squeak noise in terms of the onset time and the negative friction slope.

  • In order to investigate the sensation of the fabric sound simulating the real wear-condition, the fabric sound simulator using reciprocating friction was developed. Fabric sounds from 5 specimen were generated by the fabric sound simulator and recorded using high performance microphone. Physical sound parameters of fabrics including level pressure of total sound (LPT), level range (${\Delta}L$), and frequency differences (${\Delta}f$) were calculated. For psychological evaluation, seven adjectives for sound (softness, loudness, sharpness, clearness, roughness, highness, and pleasantness) were used as the semantic differential scale. Fabric sounds by reciprocating friction of nylon taffeta and polyester leno had the highest value of LPT and evaluated as loud, sharp, rough, and unpleasant while polyester ultra suede and silk crepe de chine haying the lower LPT and ${\Delta}f$ were perceived as soft and quite. Comparing with fabric sound by one-way friction, fabric sound by reciprocation friction was perceived as more sharp, loud, and rough. LPT was also the most important factor affecting the sensation of the fabric sound by reciprocating friction.

The equations include harmonically oscillating parameters which are related to the motion-induced stiffness variation. stability diagram is obtained by using the multiple scale perturbation method. To verify the accuracy of the modeling method, several points in the plane of the stability diagram are presented and solved. The present modeling method proves to be as accurate as a nonlinear finite element modeling method.

  • 해양에너지원 중에서 파랑은 모든 해역에 폭넓게 분포하므로 가용에너지원이 풍부하고 에너지를 회수하기 위한 장치를 설치할 수 있는 해역 또한 광범위하며 반도의 지형을 지닌 우리나라의 연안 해역에 대규모로 활용이 가능한 에너지 자원중 하나이다. 본 연구는 새로운 방식인 파력발전용 횡류형터빈인 케이슨 내장형 횡류터빈을 개발하기에 앞서 파랑수조의 왕복운동을 CFD해석을 통하여 구현하는 것이다.

  • This study provides the finite-element (FE) squeal-model predicting friction-induced noise with respect to several friction materials that have different friction characteristics. The friction curve and the corresponding friction noise were measured for four friction materials (Cu, Ni, Al, Mg) using the pin-on-disk and reciprocating friction system. The slope of the friction curve linearized at the sliding velocity was applied to the FE model. The unstable modes in the complex eigenvalue analysis were shown to correspond to the squeal frequencies that existed in the experiment.
