Existing wireless access (mobile) routers are based commonly on the network address and port translation (NAPT) technique which permits simultaneously sharing a subscriber's connection to the network with multiple users. However, the NAPT architecturally makes the users invisible on the network side, thus becoming a user-oriented connection technique. In this paper, we propose a novel service provider-oriented unlicensed nomadic access relay station (WiNNERS) for helping wireless broadband network service providers to make their business more lucrative by accommdating unlicensed band users as subscribers into their network. The WiNNERS offers service providers the capability to directly manage each of the unlicensed band users at the network side. This direct management allows the service providers to flexibly and simply handle QoS, access control, and billing for each user. In order to distinguish each of the unlicensed band users the WiNNERS constructs a virtual tunnel from each user's terminal to the network access router using connection identifiers which is defined for service flow management within the WiBro system, Consequently, our proposed service provider-oriented relay station can be included into the WiBro network system with minimum modifications.

The candle rally against the import of American beef which lasted for a long time was full of various types of social movement. That is, new media including mobile phone, Internet, Internet cafes played an important role in mobilizing people around the rally. Thus, this research focuses on the meaning and effect of these kinds of movement. In particular, it analyzed the possibility of real time broadcasting through the Internet as civic journalism, which received much attention in the rally. For this, this research used case study and interview as main research method. Case study focused on Internet cafes based on the media coverage of the rally. Interviews were conducted with workers at OhmyTV, Color TV, and 615TV. These workers at progressive media emphasized on the scene coverage as the advantage of real time delivery. Transmitting many citizens' voices was another advantage. It is expected that personal media and progressive media which try to show the scent as it is will play an important role in the future journalism with the expansion of Wibro.

올해는 와이브로ㆍIP TVㆍDMB등의 본격적인 서비스가 기대되는 해로 DC업체들에게도 새로운 도약의 기회가 주어졌다.2006년 DC 시장의 성장세가 지속될 것이라는 데는 이견이 없지만, 업계별로 해결해야 할 숙제는 여전히 남아 있다. 게임업체들은 성장률 둔화를 타파할 새로운 시장 개척의 과제가,애니메이션ㆍ모바일콘텐츠분야는 새로운 사업 모델 발굴로 수익개선의 과제에 직면해 있다. 대기업의 시장 진출 러시가 이뤄지고 있는 가운데 DC 업체들의 체질개선도 요구된다. <편집자주>

SK텔레콤과 KTF 등 W-CDMA 사업자들의 2006년 화두는 단연 'HSDPA'라고 할 수 있다. 3.5G 이동통신으로 일컬어지는 HSDPA는 이론상 최대 속도 14Mbps, 실제 속도 역시 3Mbps 이상을 구현할 것으로 보여 화상전화 정도만을 장점으로 내세웠던 WCDMA와는 분명히 차별점이 있기 때문이다. 특히 KT가 주도하는 와이브로 서비스가 4월경 서비스될 예정이기 때문에 이통사들의 HSDPA 서비스개시도 당초 예상보다 대거 앞당겨 빠르면 7월경 이뤄질 전망이다.

무선랜, WCDMA/HSDPA, 휴대인터넷 와이브로 등 각종 초고속 이동통신 기술이 상용화되면서 모바일 서비스가 화두로 부상했다. 즉 이동 단말 사용자들은 이종망을 넘나들면서도 이동성에 제약 받지 않는 끊김 없는 서비스를 요구하게 되었으며, 이를 실현하기 위해서는각종 액세스 망을 통합하여 관리/운용할 수 있는 공통적인 IP 기반의 이동성 기술이 필요하다. 본 고에서는 Mobile IP 및 Mobile IP를 확장한 주요 이동성 지원 기술을 살펴 본 후 이종망간의 정보 교환 및 상호 작용을 통해 이들을 효율적으로 지원하기 위한 MIH (Media Independent Handover) 기술을 소개한다.

본 고에서는 모바일 망(와이브로, CDMA, WiFi 등)과 유선망에서의 IPTV응용 서비스 개발에 관한 것으로, 모바일 콘텐츠 수용을 하기 위한 플랫폼 기술의 구현사례를 바탕으로 기술하였다. 또한, 모바일 콘텐츠 수용을 위한 IPTV응용서비스 기술을 논하기에 앞서 유선망에서의 IPTV시스템과 서비스에 대하여 설명하였다. 이 설명은 유선과 무선 각각에서의 IPTV기술환경과 서비스를 이해하고 구축하는데 도움을 줄 것이며 또한, 유선과 무선이 융합된 환경하에서 모바일 콘텐츠 수용을 위한 IPTV플랫폼 구축시 고려해야 할 사항들을 살펴보는 기회가 될 것이다.
