The Semantic Web introduces the next generation of the Web by establishing a semantic layer of machine-understandable data to enable machines (i.e intelligent agents) retrieve more relevant information and execute automated web services using semantic information. Ontology-related technologies are very important to evolve the World Wide Web of today into the Semantic Web in representation and share of semantic data. In this paper, we proposed and implemented the efficient ontology management system, K-Box, which constructs and manages ontologies using topic maps. We can use K-Box system to construct, store and retrieve ontologies. K-Box system has several components: Topicmap Factory, Topicmap Provider, Topicmap Query Processor, Topicmap Object Wrapper, Topicmap Cache Manager, Topicmap Storage Wrapper.

The purpose of this study is to design and implement an ontology-based retrieval system for the electronic records of universities and to compare its performance with the existing keyword-based retrieval system. We used OntoStudio 1.4 for implementing an ontology-based retrieval system, and the test collection consisted of the following: (1) 5,099 electronic records of the 'personnel management notification' created by Korea Maritime University, (2) 20 topics (10 short-topics and 10 long-topics), and (3) the relevant assessments were conducted by the group of human experts. 10 university staff participated in the experiment of keyword-based searching and used the same test collection as used in the experiment of ontology-based searching. The ontology-based retrieval system outperformed to the keyword-based retrieval system in terms of Recall and Precision, and the same results showed in the test of the short-topics and long-topics comparison.

최근 산업경쟁이 심화되면서 지식은 기업 가치에서 점점 더 많은 비중을 차지하고 있다. 이러한 지식을 기업의 자산으로서 체계적으로 관리하고 확산시키기 위하여 지식관리 시스템이 등장하였다. 본 논문은 문서 검색을 이용하는 지식관리 시스템의 설계를 대상으로 한다. 특히, 지식관리 시스템의 효과적인 문서 검색을 위하여 온톨로지 맵을 구성하고, 지식 검색에 이용하고자 한다. 온톨로지 맵의 구축과 수정 및 확장 방안을 제안하고, 질의에 대해 적합한 문서를 추출하기 위하여 질의어와 온톨로지 맵 간, 온톨로지 맵과 문서간의 유사성을 측정하고 이를 결합하는 방법을 설명한다. 이러한 온톨로지 맵을 이용한 지식관리에 관한 연구는 지식의 체계적인 유지 및 확장성뿐 아니라, 지식 검색의 정확성과 유연성을 배가할 수 있을 것이다.

Currently, basic simple search techniques for curriculum are being implemented. But curriculum information retrieval applying ontology technologies is still weak level. In this paper, the curriculum of university was divided into the liberal arts and majors, and we proposed frame model by these methodes and designed management system to construct ontology. This management system was composed of ontology input system and ontology web service system. Ontology input system constructed curriculum of department into ontology by administrator and we designed web service system to retrieve curriculum by students. We validated ontology designed for curriculum using ontology tool.

지식관리시스템의 지식 분류 체계가 지식맵이며 이 지식맵을 이용하여 지식 서비스가 제공된다. 그러나 현재의 지식맵은 비표준적인 지식 네트웍 구조와 정적인 분류체계라는 문제를 가진다. 문제 해결 방법은 지식맵에 온틀로지를 적용해서 표준성, 의미 기반의 지식 네트웍 구조. 동적인 지식분류, 자동화된 지식서비스를 제공하는 새로운 개념의 지식맵을 구현하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 토픽맵 모델을 기반으로 온톨로지를 생성, 저장, 검색하는 효율적인 온톨로지 관리 시스템인 K-Box를 구현하였다. K-Box는 온톨로지 관리를 위한 기본적인 기능들을 제공하며, 이질적인 저장소들을 일관된 인터페이스로 접근할 수 있도록 함으로써 저장 장치 독립성을 제공하였다. 또한, 저장 관리되는 모든 온톨로지들의 무결성을 보장하기 위한 새로운 기법과 사용자 관심을 중심으로 한 온톨로지 검색 지원을 위한 방법을 제안하였다. 마지막으로, 우리는 여러 온톨로지들을 적용해 봄으로써 K-Box 시스템이 효율적으로 사용 가능함을 확인하였다.

본 연구에서는 유비쿼터스 환경에서 시시각각으로 변하는 고객의 요구사항을 만족시키기 위해 상호 협력을 시도하는 다중 에이전트들이 의사결정을 수행할 경우 발생할 수 있는 충돌의 해결을 지원하는 지능적인 온톨로지 관리 모듈(intelligent-Ontology Management Module, i-OMM)과 다중에이전트 관리 모듈(Multi-agent Coordination Module, MACM)을 포함하는 u-DSS 포털을 제안한다. 개별 에이전트들은 온톨로지와 문제해결을 위한 프로시저 등을 이용해 자신의 문제를 해결하는 것을 기본으로 한다. 그러나 다른 에이전트들과 협력을 통해 문제를 해결해야 할 경우에는 먼저 개별 에이전트들이 보유한 각 온톨로지의 통합 및 데이터간의 충돌 해결이 요구된다. i-OMM은 개별 에이전트들이 보유하고 있는 이질적인 온톨로지를 통합하여, 문제해결을 위한 하나의 통합된 새로운 동적 온톨로지 뷰(integrated ontology view, IOV)의 생성을 지원한다. 온톨로지 통합과제에서 생성된 IOV는 사례로 저장되고 유사한 문제 해결에 재사용된다. MACM은 고객 에이전트들의 요구사항 변화에 따라 관련 개별 에이전트들 간의 데이터 충돌을 해결하여 에이전트들의 의사결정과정을 지원한다. 따라서 i-OMM과 MACM을 이용한 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 분산된 에이전트들의 협력적 문제 해결을 지원하는 시스템을 유비쿼터스 의사결정지원 시스템 포탈(ubiquitous decision support system, u-DSS Portal)이라고 지칭한다. 본 연구에서 제안된 알고리즘의 활용 대상은 고객, 판매자, 제조업체, 및 배송업체의 배송차량들의 에이전트들로 구성된 u-fulfillment 시스템으로 한다.

ERP system is a fundamental system that is commonly adopted by most companies that intend to take part in e-business. However, few companies are running ERP systems successfully because of inaccuracy in data managed by ERP system. In this paper, we propose a model and the building process of item ontology which organize concepts describing all items managed by enterprises. In addition, we design and implement a system to create and manage item ontologies. We interface our system with a commercial ERP system, then install and run these systems on a manufacturing company. Our item ontologies and management system might help enterprises when they try to take part in e-business.

As interoperability between systems in distributed environment has been important, it has been possible for various organizations to share resources and exchange relevant information. However, semantic heterogeneity between the systems and organizations causes the problem of making their interoperability impossible. Thereby, in this paper, we propose an ontology matching-based knowledge management system which can automatically discover semantic correspondences between ontologies. Moreover, even though there have been many existing ontology matchers, it is still difficult to directly apply them to the proposed system. To deal with the problems, we want to discover matching patterns (MP) which they discover from two given ontologies.

This paper is proposed that ontology_based Oriental Medicine Customer Relationship Management system is designed with existing OCS, EMR, ERP system for oriental medicine center of efficient customer information management and analysis. As using ontology technique, we support oriental medicine service at grade according to quality and healthy of the customer. Also we designed 4 kind oriental medicine customer relationship management system frame - customer management, public relations/marketing, service management, statistics/analysis - in the customer management process standardization through a medical expert system.

최근에 웹 온톨로지 언어를 사용한 웹 서비스와 애플리케이션들이 많이 개발됨에 따라 RDF/S를 기반으로 한 온톨로지 문서의 크기가 증가되었고 이로 인해 효율적으로 문서를 저장하고 검색하기위한 시맨틱 웹 정보관리 시스템의 필요가 대두되었다. 본 논문에서는 시맨틱 웹 정보관리 시스템에서 클래스와 프로퍼티의 삭제 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 삭제 알고리즘에서는 클래스나 프로퍼티가 삭제될 때에 이를 반영하여 계층 정보의 스키마 정보가 변경된다.
