Method of Decreasing Cracking Index by Different Mix Conditions for Separated Placement and its Field Application (콘크리트 배합요인별 상·하부 분리타설에 의한 수화열 균열지수 저감방안 및 현장적용)

  • In this research, considering the practical situation of separated placing method for mass concrete structure, an efficient method of controlling the heat of hydration is suggested by comparing between the simulated values and actual measurements conducted with the optimum mix design obtained from the various mix conditions with different types and amount of supplementary cementitious materials(SCMs). As the result of the research, firstly, the optimum mix designs for top and bottom layers were determined by Midas gen as OPC to FA of 85 to 15, and OPC to FA to BS of 50 to 20 to 30, respectively. The concrete mixtures prepared with the mix designs determined from the simulation satisfied the target performance range in slump, air content and compressive strength. Additionally, from temperature measurement for the actual mass concrete placed during spring, the maximum temperature difference between surface and core was about $10^{\circ}C$ with 59 and $49^{\circ}C$ for top and bottom layers, respectively, and 1.4 of cracking index was obtained. Therefore, considering the practical conditions of mass concrete construction, it is considered that the different heat of hydration method using different mix designs with SCMs can be an efficient method for controlling thermal cracking and settling cracking of mass concrete.

  • 비접촉식 온도센서는 물체에서 방출하는 적외선 등의 복사신호를 열에너지로 전환하고 이를 다시 전기신호로 2차 에너지 변환하여 온도를 감지하는 센서로 인체 검지를 응용한 다양한 상품 및 교통, 방재, 빌딩 시스템 등의 분야에 널리 응용되고 있다. 비접촉식 적외선 센서는 열에너지를 전기에너지로 변환하는 방법에 따라 양자형과 열형으로 구분되며, 이중 양자형은 광전도나 광기전력 효과 등을 이용하여 감도 및 응답성이 우수하다는 장점을 지니고 있지만, 소자부를 80K 이하 온도로 유지시키는 냉각을 필요로 하므로 대형 제작이 불가피하고 그 용도가 제한적이다. 열형은 냉각이 필요 없고 소형으로 제작가능한 장점을 지니고 있어 써모 파일이나 초전체를 이용한 번용 센서가 보급되고 있다. 그러나 써모파일의 경우 출력되는 전기 신호가 미약하여 감도 및 응답성을 향상하기 위해 구조가 복잡하고, 특히 모터초퍼나 저항을 전압으로 변환시키는 전력기 등이 필요로 하는 단점을 지니고 있다. 따라서 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위해 열전재료 박막을 이용한 적외선 센서를 개발하려는 노력이 진행중에 있다. 열전박막을 이용한 적외선 센서는 열전재료의 Seebeck 현상을 이용하여 열에너지에서 전기에너지의 변환이 자가발전으로 이루어져 offset과 외부 바이어스를 필요로 하지 않는다. 또한 작은 온도 변화에도 그 감도와 응답성이 높고, 출력신호가 커서 증폭기 등이 불필요한 장점을 지니고 있다. 특히 초전형 센서가 상온에서도 기판에 대한 열 확산을 제어해야 하는 문제점을 갖는 반면, 열전박막형 적외선 센서는 고온에서도 안정된 출력 신호를 얻을 수 있어 그 활용 온도 범위가 크게 확대될 것으로 기대된다. 본 실험에서는 우수한 열전특성을 갖는 (Bi1-xSbx)2Te3 박막을 얻기 위해 열팽창계수가 작고 알칼리 원소가 0.3% 이하로 포함되어 있는 corning glass(# 7059)를 기판으로 사용하였다. 또한 최적의 열전특성을 나타내는 조성을 실험적으로 구하기 위해 (Bi0.2Sbx)2Te3 조성의 합금 타? 위에 Bi2Te3 및 Sb2Te3 chip을 올려놓고 그 면적을 변화시켜 다양한 조성의 열전박막을 증착하였다. 열전박막의 증착시 산화와 오염에 의한 열전특성 변화를 최소화하기 위해 초기진공도를 1$\times$10-6 Torr로 하였으며, Ar 가스를 흘려주어 2$\times$102 Torr 의 증착진공도를 유지하였다. 열전박막을 증착하기 전에 기판을 10분간 200W의 출력으로 RF 처리하였으며, 30$0^{\circ}C$에서 33 /sec의 속도로 (Bi1-xSbx)2Te3 박막을 증착하였다. 이와 같이 제조된 (Bi1-xSbx)2Te3 박막의 미세구조를 SEM으로 관찰하고 EDS로 조성을 분석하였으며, XRD를 이용하여 결정성을 관찰하였다. 또한 (Bi1-xSbx)2Te3 박막의 Seebeeck 계수 및 전기비저항을 측정하고 증착된 박막조성, 결정상, 미세구조와 열전특성간의 상관관계를 고찰하였다.

A Study on the Development of the Engine Room Fan Control System and ERFCS Algorithm for Ships Energy Saving (선박 에너지 절감을 위한 기관실 팬 제어 시스템 구축 및 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, there have been many studies pertaining to reducing energy consumption on ships. As part of those studies, the energy consumption of ships can be reduced by understanding and controlling the varying loads, excluding fixed loads. In existing ships, engine room fans are usually operated based on the actual experience of the crew without any special guidelines. To realize energy reduction, we investigate the characteristics of engine-room fans, and we propose an energy-management system called the engine room fan control system (ERFCS) and the ERFCS algorithm. The ERFCS controls the fan speed depending on the temperature and pressure, where one to four fans are operated depending on changes in the load. In addition, the minimum rotation speed of the engine-room fan was limited to 50% to prevent the surging phenomenon, which is due to fan damage or low pressure resulting from mechanical friction or heating at low fan speeds. We develop a fan control system simulation model using LabVIEW that is based on the proposed algorithm and ISO 8861. Finally, we perform simulations to confirm that operation of the proposed fan control system is possible using only 46.4% of the power required by the existing method.

Thermal Analysis of the Heat Sink Performance using FEM (유한 요소법을 이용한 히트싱크의 성능평가를 위한 열해석 연구)

  • This study examined the numerical analysis results with respect to the thermal behavior of a natural convection cooled pin-fin heat sink. The heat sink consisted of pin fins integrated with plate fins. The heat sinks were designed with two different types to fit the limited internal space. The two types of heat sinks designed were analyzed using the ANSYS software package, and the numerical analysis results were compared with the cooling performance of the two types of heat sinks. The results of the simulation were analyzed according to the temperature distribution and air flow characteristics, heat flux etc. This study examined the correlation of the cooling performance with the heat sink internal structure and fin shape. FEM (Finite Element Method) confirmed the cooling performance of heat sink type A under natural convection conditions as the best results. The results of the numerical simulation showed that the heat sink type A shape showed an approximately 70 percent better heat transfer rate with natural convection than that of type B.

  • In this paper, we propose the PLL system of the local oscillator system for the millimeter wave band's radio astronomy receiving system. The development of the proposed local oscillator system based on the YIG oscillator VCO with $26.5\~40GHz$ specification. This system consists of the oscillator part including the YIG VCO, the harmonic mixer, and the isolator, the RF processing part including the triplexer, limiter, and RF discrimination processor, and the PLL system including YIG modulator and controller. Based on this configuration, we verify the frequency and power stability of the developed local oscillator system according to some temperature variation. From this test results we confirm the stable output frequency and power characteristic peformance of the developed LO system at constant temperature.

  • Real time water quality monitoring system in a large area has been developed. The system is hierarchically composed of CCMS(Central Control and Monitoring System), data loggers and water pollution measuring instruments, which enable systematic and efficient data collection and management. Also in this work we designed and constructed the instruments for measuring basic elements in water quality such as salinity, electrical conductivity, temperature, dissolved oxygen and the amount of coli in water.

  • In this paper, we modeled the devices used easily in PV system circuits. Simulation tools use PSPICE to enable intuitive electrical circuit simulations. Simulations were also performed on the effects of temperature and spatial radiation that are easy to overlook when using solar cells using modelled libraries. In addition, for full operation of the photovoltaic system, a complete operation system for the DC-DC buck-boost converter and the MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) control system was modeled and simulated to confirm good operation. In order to verify the operation of the simulation, we constructed an actual system with the same conditions in the simulation and experimented. As a result, we proposed a single-phase 3 kW grid-connected solar power converter.

Development of Neural Network Based Cycle Length Design Model Minimizing Delay for Traffic Responsive Control (실시간 신호제어를 위한 신경망 적용 지체최소화 주기길이 설계모형 개발)

  • The cycle length design model of the Korean traffic responsive signal control systems is devised to vary a cycle length as a response to changes in traffic demand in real time by utilizing parameters specified by a system operator and such field information as degrees of saturation of through phases. Since no explicit guideline is provided to a system operator, the system tends to include ambiguity in terms of the system optimization. In addition, the cycle lengths produced by the existing model have yet been verified if they are comparable to the ones minimizing delay. This paper presents the studies conducted (1) to find shortcomings embedded in the existing model by comparing the cycle lengths produced by the model against the ones minimizing delay and (2) to propose a new direction to design a cycle length minimizing delay and excluding such operator oriented parameters. It was found from the study that the cycle lengths from the existing model fail to minimize delay and promote intersection operational conditions to be unsatisfied when traffic volume is low, due to the feature of the changed target operational volume-to-capacity ratio embedded in the model. The 64 different neural network based cycle length design models were developed based on simulation data surrogating field data. The CORSIM optimal cycle lengths minimizing delay were found through the COST software developed for the study. COST searches for the CORSIM optimal cycle length minimizing delay with a heuristic searching method, a hybrid genetic algorithm. Among 64 models, the best one producing cycle lengths close enough to the optimal was selected through statistical tests. It was found from the verification test that the best model designs a cycle length as similar pattern to the ones minimizing delay. The cycle lengths from the proposed model are comparable to the ones from TRANSYT-7F.

Evaluation and Analysis of Scheduling Algorithms for Peak Power Reduction (전력 피크 감소를 위한 스케줄링 알고리즘의 성능 평가 및 분석)

  • Peak power reduction is becoming increasingly important not only for grid operators but also for residential users. The scheduling of electric loads tries to reduce the power peak by splitting the power-on period of an electric device into multiple smaller ones and by interleaving the on-periods of every device in a holistic way. This paper analyzes the performance of EDF, LSF, TCBM, and lazy scheduling algorithms and proposes the enhancement schemes. For analysis, we have implemented the scheduling policies in a simulation environment for distributed control systems. Through extensive experiments using real power traces, we discuss their performance characteristics in terms of power deviation, switch count, and temperature violation ratio. To prevent excessive switching, we propose to employ the concept of limited preemptibility and evaluate its effect on performance. It is found that the best performance is achieved when the scheduler capacity is dynamically adjusted to the actual power demand. The experiment results show that, by load scheduling, the probability of having a power deviation greater than 150W is reduced from 21.5% down to 3.2%.

Numerical Study for Flow Uniformity in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) (SCR 반응기 유동 균일화를 위한 수치적 연구)

  • $NO_x$ 제어 기술로는 크게 연소 전 탈질, 연소 개선 및 연소 후 탈질 기술로 구분할 수 있으며, 연소 후 탈질 기술에 속하는 SCR은 촉매를 사용하여 $NO_x$를 환원하는 대표적인 배연탈질기술이다. SCR의 $NO_x$ 저감 성능은 촉매 요인(촉매 구성물질, 형태, 공간속도 등)과 배가스의 온도, 유속 분포, 공정 운전 조건 등의 다양한 인자에 의해 좌우되는데 특히, 촉매층으로 유입되는 유동의 균일도는 가장 중요한 요소가 된다. 유동이 균일하지 않을 경우 촉매 전단에 편류가 발생하게 될 것이며 일정 촉매만 사용하게 되어 촉매 사용주기 감소 및 SCR 성능 저하를 초래할 수 있기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 3차원 수치 해석 기법을 이용하여 설계 초기의 SCR 반응기 내 유동 특성을 모사하여 기류 균일도 여부를 확인하고, SCR 내 유동 균일도를 최적화시키기 위한 설계를 목적으로 설치하는 가이드 베인과 배플, 다공판이 반응기 내부 유동 및 촉매층의 기류 균일도에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과, 유동 개선을 위해 인입 덕트 곡관부에 가이드 베인을 설치하여 처리가스를 적절하게 배분시키고, 반응기 상단에 3단 배플을 설치한 결과 반응기 내부 유동의 편류 개선에 매우 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 다공판을 예비 촉매층 하단부 위치에 추가로 설치함에 따라 유동을 한번 더 완충시킬 수 있어 기류 균일도가 매우 양호해짐을 알 수 있었다.
