Preliminary Analysis of Intensive Observation Data Produced by the National Center for Intensive Observation of Severe Weathers (NCIO) in 2002 (2002년 국가 악기상 집중관측센터에서 생산된 집중관측자료의 분석 및 활용)

  • The National Center for Intensive Observation of Severe Weathers (NCIO) as a part of METRI's principal project "Korea Enhanced Observing Period; KEOP" was established at Haenam Weather Observatory in order to effectively monitor and observe heavy rainfall in summer, which is essential for the identification of the structure and evolution mechanism of mesoscale severe weather system. The intensive field-based experiments in 2002 within southwestern Korea toward various meteorological phenomena ranging from heavy rainfall to snowfall were conducted in collaboration with KMA(Korea Meteorological Administration) and universities. In this study, preliminary analysis results using intensive observation data obtained from these experiments are presented together with the introduction of NCIO and its operational structure.

A Deep Learning-Based Face Mesh Data Denoising System (딥 러닝 기반 얼굴 메쉬 데이터 디노이징 시스템)

  • Although one can easily generate real-world 3D mesh data using a 3D printer or a depth camera, the generated data inevitably includes unnecessary noise. Therefore, mesh denoising is essential to obtain intact 3D mesh data. However, conventional mathematical denoising methods require preprocessing and often eliminate some important features of the 3D mesh. To address this problem, this paper proposes a deep learning based 3D mesh denoising method. Specifically, we propose a convolution-based autoencoder model consisting of an encoder and a decoder. The convolution operation applied to the mesh data performs denoising considering the relationship between each vertex constituting the mesh data and the surrounding vertices. When the convolution is completed, a sampling operation is performed to improve the learning speed. Experimental results show that the proposed autoencoder model produces faster and higher quality denoised data than the conventional methods.

Modelling of Fixed Wing UAV and Flight Control Computer Based Autopilot System Development for Integrated Simulation HILS Environment (고정익 UAV 모델링 및 비행조종컴퓨터 기반 오토파일럿 통합 시뮬레이션 HILS 환경 구축)

  • Fixed-wing UAVs have long endurance and range capabilities compared to other aerial platforms. These advantages led fixed-wing UAVs to become a popular platform for reconnaissance missions in the military. In this research, we modeled fixed-wing UAVs, including the landing gear model and developed a guidance and control system for flight control computers to construct a HILS environment. We also developed an autopilot system that includes automated take-off, cruise, and landing control for UAVs. We also retrived the Aerodynamic coefficients an UAV using Datcom and AVL software and used them for 6 degrees of freedom modeling. The Flight control computer calculates guidance commands using the Carrot chasing guidance law after distinguishing the condition of the UAV based on 16 pre-defined flight modes and calculates control inputs using Nonlinear Dynamic Inversion (NDI) control scheme. We used RTNngine to integrate the Simulink model and flight control computer for HILS environment formulation.

Index Transitivity and Transformation of Separable Systems (분리가능 시스템의 지수 추이성과 변환)

  • Separable systems are defined in term rewriting systems, respecting the notion of separability in the λ-calculus. In this research, we generalize separable systems of term rewriting systems, which was studied in restrictive systems such as constructive systems. We also associate separability with index-transitivity and with forward branching Separability is identified with forward branching, and strong sequentiality with index-transitivity satisfies separability. These are such good properties that enable us to describe the procedure of pattern-matching as an index tree, which is a sort of automata, and to transform separable systems into a constructor system with a simple pattern. Separable systems, in particular, can be translated into the λ-calculus. This research can serve a theoretical basis which allows functional languages to be explained by the λ-calculus, since functional languages such as ML and Haskell belong to a subclass of separable systems.

  • It is difficult to construct a controller for a mobile robot so that it can adapt appropriately in dynamicallychanging environment. To solve this problem, extensive research has been actively performedto construct a controller by evolutionary method, but few results has come out about the behavioraln~echanism of the evolutionarily constructed controller. This paper attemps to systematically analyze themechanism of the controller constructed by evolution. As a result, we have found that evolution canproduce a controller that can solve a given problem properly, where given problem is divided into severalsub problems and adequate mechanisms emerge for each sub problem. The whole problem hasbeen solved through the complicated interactions of these mechanisms.

Development of Video Image Detection System based on Tripwire and Vehicle Tracking Technologies focusing performance analysis with Autoscope (Tripwire 및 Tracking 기반의 영상검지시스템 개발 (Autoscope와의 성능비교를 중심으로))

  • Video Image Detection System can be used for various traffic managements including traffic operation and traffic safety. Video Image Detection Technique can be divide by Tripwire System and Tracking System. Autoscope, which is widely used in the market, utilizes the Tripwire System. In this study, we developed an individual vehicle tracking system that can collect microscopic traffic information and also developed another image detection technology under the Tripwire System. To prove the accuracy and reliability of the newly developed systems, we compared the traffic data of the systems with those generated by Autoscope. The results showed that 0.35% of errors compared with the real traffic counts and 1.78% of errors with Autoscope. Performance comparisons on speed from the two systems showed the maximum errors of 1.77% with Autoscope, which confirms the usefulness of the newly developed systems.

  • 본 논문에서는 2대의 다이오드 정류기에 부스트 컨버터를 이용하여 전류의 파형을 능동적으로 만들어 정현파의 입력전류를 얻는 새로운 방식의 고조파 저감방식을 제안한다. 제안한 당식으로 역률 1의 전원 품질을 얻을 수 있으며 입력측의 변동에 대한 출력전압의 조정도 가능하다. 또한 저감된 용량을 갖는 3상 오토 트랜스포머의 사용으로 기존의 $\Delta$-Y 변압기에 비해 KVA정격이 80$\%$ 절감되며 상간변압기도 필요 없다. 본 방식을 소형화와 고품질의 전원이 요구되는 통신용 정류기등에 적용하면 효과적이다. 제안한 방식의 동작원리, 제어 및 설계방법을 기술하고 1.5KW급 시작품으로부터의 실험결과를 제시한다.

Effect of four-wheel steering system on vehicle handling characterisitcs (4륜 조향시스템이 차량의 주행역학적 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • Equipments of passenger cars with modern technologies are gaining their importance. Related with such developments, the four-wheel steering system (4WS) was introduced recently to a few passenger cars in the market. The most important research goal on this new steering system is improvement of active safety, in other words, improvement of handling characteristics of vehicle stability and maneuverability. This paper presents a computer-based study about the effects of 4WS system on the vehicle handling characteristics. A simple bicycle model of 2 d.o.f. is used for the development of four wheel control algorithms of 4WS system, and the rear wheel control strategies are applied to a complex vehicle model of 16 d.o.f. for simulation of selected ISO-driving tests. The 4WS systems, which reduce the sideslip angle at the mass center of vehicle to almost zero, show much improved handling characteristics compared to that of the conventional 2WS system. These 4WS systems, however, result in vehicles with eigen-steer characteristics of extreme understeer behaviour.

  • This paper presents the development of CAD system for the design of lens of the Turn Signal Lamp that can model and simulate its optical performance. The system consists of three main modules: skin surface modeling module, inner lens modeling module and optical performance simulation module. Skin surface geometry can be modeled by the input of data file and inner lens can be modeled by the input of only four parameter using its geometric characteristics. Also light distribution pattern, the barometer of optical performance is generated by means of finite ray tracing method. The system display modeled geometry, ray tracing and generated light distribution pattern.

Home Gateway Platform Development based on OSGi in Sensor Network (센서네트워크 상에서 OSGi 기반의 홈게이트웨이 플렛폼 개발)

  • 일반적으로 홈 게이트웨이는 가정 내 PC와 인터넷 가전 모두에 대해 공유 인터넷 액세스가 가능하도록 통신 서비스와 홈게이트웨이 자체의 보안 및 홈 오토메이션과 같은 서비스를 제공한다. 또한 추가로 미래에 제공되어야 할 여러 서비스를 위해서는 현재 개발되는 홈 게이트웨이는 모듈식 아키텍쳐를 기반으로 해야 할 것이다. 이와 같은 홈 게이트웨이를 구현하기 위해서는 독창적이고 확장 가능한 하드웨어 플랫폼은 물론, 운영체제 및 애플리케이션의 업그레이드와 새로운 서비스의 배치를 가능케 해주는 강건한 파일 시스템을 포함해야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 위와 같은 홈 게이트웨이 기능 및 새로운 서비스 추가 및 관리에 용이한 개방형 표준인 OSGi(Open Service Gateway Initiative)를 기반으로 한 홈게이트웨이를 설계하고, 본 플랫폼을 통한 댁내 가전제어를 위해 센서네트워크와 연동하여 실제 댁내에 부착된 액추에이터 센서노드를 제어할 수 있도록 개발했다. 가전제어를 위한 S/W는 OSGi 상에서 서비스 번들로 개발하였으며 언제 어디에서든 해당 번들을 다운받아 홈 제어가 가능하다.
