A Study on the Operating Control of a Heat Pump System with Screw Compressors (스크류 열펌프 시스템의 운전제어 방안에 관한 연구)

  • A preliminary performance test of a 30RT 2-stage screw heat pump was carried out in order to develop a high performance large-scale unutilized energy source heat pump system, which will be used for district heating and cooling. In this study, two issues of the system operating control were investigated. The first issue is the mode switching control from 1-stage to 2-stage. A stable 2-stage heating operation is guaranteed, only if the load-side water inlet temperature is over a certain value, where the 1-stage heating operation should be done first from a cold start. The second issue is oil level control. An oil shortage problem in the low stage compressor, which depends on the degree of suction superheat, was solved by a proper oil level control scheme.

  • In order to improve the efficiency of the main transformer in a tilting train, the optimal operation of a cooling system is necessary. Mathematical models of a main transformer cooling system were developed. These include models for the main transformer, the oil pump, the oil cooler, and the blower. The optimal oil temperature algorithm was also developed. This consists of the optimal setpoint algorithm and the control algorithm. A simulation program was developed by using mathematical models and the optimal oil temperature algorithm. Simulation results showed that the dynamic behavior of a main transformer cooling system was predicted well by mathematical models and a main transformer cooling system was controlled effectively by the optimal oil temperature algorithm.

  • Axial piston pumps have been widely used as power sources for hydraulic systems, but studies on the fluid flow within the pump have been usually performed using 1-D analysis because of the difficulties in considering the fluid compressibility, high-speed revolution, variation of the flow rate, and complicated geometry. The goal of this study was to understand the hydraulic fluid flow within axial piston pumps by using the 3-D numerical method and the process of generating discharge pressure ripples. To improve the convergence and robustness of the simulation model, a grid system was constructed with hexahedron-type grids around the valve plate. Furthermore, we employed an empirical formula to describe the relationship between the oil density and pressure. The CFD (computational fluid dynamics) results compared well with the experimental data.

  • The study about the concrete to use recently a light weight aggregate, processed actively. And concrete pumping with a high pressure pump has been popularized, the mechanical development, such as high pressure pumps or pipes, is progressing rapidly. Concrete placing by pumping has the advantage of the reduction of the construction period with workability, easiness of work and the increase of placing, but the quality variation of concrete is caused by pumping is seldom considered, including the increase of the pipe length by high-rising and large-sizing, there by the loss of the unit quantity of water, with pumpability or workability deteriorated. In this research, we will compare and analyze before pumping and after pumping samples of ready-mixed light weight concrete. The result of study as follow. The case of a light weight concrete which the low slump is more decrement compared with high slump light weight concrete in after pumping samples. After pumping the water by pressure of a pump was absorbed to the aggregate inside, and it showed an increase of compression strength about $5{\sim}20%$.

  • The crude oil pump system is the equipment for transporting crude oil and it consists of 3 major components, a motor and an impeller which discharge underground crude oil, a pipestack that transmits the cooling oil and power, and a cooling oil unit & junction box that provides cooling oil and electric power. When considering the system characteristics that it has to be installed at a depth of deeper than 100 m, a design technology for the efficient control of the heat occurring at a conductor and motor is necessary and it is the essential factor for ensuring system durability. In this paper, therefore, cooling oil flow has been calculated to satisfy the limit value of the system temperature by analyzing heat flow considering the related losses such as loss of conductor, contact resistor loss at the conductor connection, and operation loss of motor. And the operation temperature has been set up based on the temperature of crude oil and the heat of motor and conductor. Also, a design for cooling of crude oil pump system has been proposed by calculating the operation pressure loss and selecting the capacity of a cooling oil pump and a heat exchanger.

  • A numerical simulation program based on the finite elerrent method is developed for calculating electromagnetic field of the cylindrical electromagnetic pump. The calculated results by the developed program show that Lorentz forces show maximum peak at an optimum length ($L_c$) of the induction coil. The value of $L_c$ depends on the radius of the molten metal when the skin depth is large. On the other hand, the value of $L_c$ depends on the skin depth when it is small.

  • On-off control performance of target pumping station was experimented by changing measurement methods for storage level or inflow and operating logic for control system setting. Four scenarios with different measurement methods and operational logic were examined in the Matlab/Simulink environment. Controller's on-off control repetition that was frequent before has been reduced and more effective and stable system operation was found to be possible with the scenarios. Moreover, defensive operation enforced prevention of floods by changing measurement methods enabled economic operation that made an utmost use of storage volumes.

영광 3&4호기 부분충수운전시 정지냉각계통 최소유량 감소에 대한 영향분석

  • 영광 3&4호기의 부분충수운전시 정지냉각계통 최소유량의 감소에 따른 영향을 노심의 잔열제거 능력 및 저압안전주입펌프의 성능 측면에서 분석하였다. 정지냉각계통 성능해석용 전산코드인 KDESCENT를 수정하여 사용하였으며 보수적인 초기조건 및 가정을 사용하였다. 분석결과 부분충수 운전동안 원자로냉각재의 최고 허용온도를 작업자의 접근을 위한 설계온도인 140 ℉로 설정할 경우 원자로 정지후 4일 시점에서 이를 만족할 수 있는 정지냉각계통의 최소유량은 실제값으로 3000 gpm(계측기의 오차포함 3440 gpm)임을 알 수가 있었다. 이 유량은 붕산희석이나 성층화, 저압안전 주입펌프의 성능 측면에서도 허용가능한 값이다.

  • An experimental study to establish a standard of sump model test of pump station was implemented. Comparison of foreign standard was also performed. Configuration condition around a bell mouth suction intake was easily adjusted by 3-axis traversing system and partition allocation. Operational condition was also varied widely to give accurate test data. PIV was also introduced to produce Quantitative analysis of flow field such as free-surface vortex and submerged vortex occurring in the model test. More detailed vortex behaviors were represented by PIV analysis.

  • 본 논문은 포항가속기연구소에서 건설중인 PLS 2 GeV 선형가속기 진공계통의 설계에 관한 것이다. PLS 2GeV 선형가속기의 진공계통은 길이 3.07m인 42개의 가속관과 길이 약 400m의 도파관으로 구성되어 있다. 진공장치의 배치는 충분한 지역적 배기능력을 고려한 분산 배기방식으로 다지관 방식의 기계적 복잡성을 단순화하였다. 진공계는 가속관 중심과 도파관에서 5$\times$10-7Torr, 클라이스트론 출력장치에서 5$\times$10-8Torr까지 배기되도록 설계하였다. 주 진공펌프로는 가속관과 도파관 및 에너지 배가장치에 대하여 각각 용량이 60l/s와 120l/s인 sputter 이온펌프를 사용하기로 하였다.
