Perceived Knowledge, Anxiety and Compliance with Preventive Behavior Performance on COVID-19 by Nursing College Students (간호대학생이 지각한 COVID-19의 지식, 불안이 예방행위 수행정도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was examined to identify effects of compliance with preventive behavior on COVID-19 of nursing college students. From April 24 to May 6, 2020, 195 nursing students in grades 1-4 responded to an online self-report questionnaire. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. The result showed that compliance with preventive behavior was positively correlated with knowledge and anxiety. The multiple regression revealed knowledge(β=.418, p<.001), anxiety(β=.280, p<.001), and experience of self quarantine(β=-.107, p<.05) to be significant compliance with preventive behavior. These variables accounted for 40.4% of compliance with preventive behavior. Conclusion Accurate and positive knowledge formation of COVID-19 of nursing students is necessary and the development and application of educational programs that can practice the performance of preventive actions in everyday life is necessary.

Effects of Depression, Sleep and Self-Esteem on Dementia Preventive Behavior in Rural Elderly People (농촌노인의 우울, 수면, 자아존중감이 치매예방행위에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of depression, sleep, and self-esteem on a dementia preventive behavior in rural elderly people. The participants were 235 elderly people aged 60 or older who lived in J-Gun, J-Do. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 25.0 program. There were significant differences in the dementia preventive behavior according to religion, the level of education, a cohabitation type, an economic level, and dementia education experience. Participants' dementia preventive behavior was positively correlated with self-esteem (r=.52, p<.001) and sleep (r=.31, p<.001). However, it was negatively correlated with depression (r=-.57, p<.001). Factors affecting the dementia preventive behavior were depression, self-esteem, and religion. The explanatory power of variables was 37%. To increase a dementia prevention behavior in rural elderly people, it is necessary to develop dementia prevention programs to reduce depression and improve self-esteem and to create social conditions to facilitate various social participations such as a religious activity.

  • This study In relationship between knowledge, health beliefs, and preventive health behavior of corona 19 was made for the purpose of the investigation of nursing college students in health care practice.,The survey target was 231 persons, and the data collected from October 27, 2021 to November 4, 2021 was analyzed using the SPSS23.0 program.,In order to examine factors affecting preventive health behavior of nursing college students for corona 19, hierarchical regression analysis was carried out.,The degree of regression model fitness (F=9.71, p<.005) was related to major satisfaction (β=.18, p=.009), corona 19 knowledge (β=.20, p=.001), corona 19 health belief (β=.36, p=.000) and the descriptive power was 30.6%.,Therefore, it is necessary to develop a strategy of the health education program to promote preventive health behavior for corona 19 of nursing college students.

The Convergence Study on Anxiety, Knowledge, Infection Possibility, Preventive Possibility and Preventive Behavior Level of MERS in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 메르스에 대한 불안, 지식, 감염가능성, 감염예방가능성, 감염예방행위 이행 수준의 융합적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic materials on establishing convergence oriented respiratory infection management system in nursing students attending clinical training by analyzing anxiety, knowledge, possibility of infection, possibility of prevention, and compliance level of preventive behavior. Data were collected from 222 nursing students experienced clinical practice from June 15th to 30th in 2015 using questionnaire. Characteristics relative to variables were measured, and analyzed using SPSS 18.0 program. The results are as follows. The anxiety was 42.70(max 80 points), but possibility of infection was 22.55(max 100 points). Also, knowledge(11.73 out of 16 points), possibility of prevention(7.37 out of 10 points), and compliance level of preventive behavior(34.55 out of maximum 48 points) were slightly above average. The influencing factors on compliance of preventive behavior were anxiety and possibility of prevention. It is needed to lead convergence oriented approach on enhancing compliance of preventive behavior through providing information and educating possibility of prevention during MERS outbreak.

Degree of Interest for Dental Caries Prevention and Child's Oral Health Behaviors in Korean Adults: Gallup Survey (한국 성인의 우식예방 인식과 자녀의 우식예방 실천행위조사: 한국갤럽자료분석)

  • This study was to evaluate the influence of dental caries prevention-related concerned and perceived in Korean adults and oral health behavior of their first child if they had children. A cross-sectional study in 1,014 adults over 19 years old were conducted in Korean adults, asked to answer a computer-assisted telephone interview regarding their oral health-related knowledge, behavior, concerned of caries prevention and child's behaviors such as frequencies of tooth brushing, chewing the xylitol gum and dental checkup. The statistical analysis was done by using the SPSS 19.0 program (IBM Co., Armonk, NY, USA). Awareness of caries prevention in the female than male, 40~49 years old age group was higher. Parents of school-age children were higher level of awareness of the dental caries prevention than other group. As knowledge and behavior of dental caries prevention were higher, the child's conduct regular oral health checkups, fluoride topical application and dental sealant was significantly higher. The higher the concerned of caries preventive, the intention of oral health behaviors and child's oral health behaviors was more increased. Awareness of caries prevention had effect on the perception of the impact of the child's oral health behaviors.

A Study on Knowledge, Attitude and Prevention Behavior of Tuberculosis in Male High School Students (남자 고등학생의 결핵에 대한 지식, 태도 및 예방행위에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the knowledge, attitude and preventive behaviors of tuberculosis in male high school students and to identify the factors influencing preventive behaviors and to provide basic data for the development of prevention programs for tuberculosis of male high school students. Methods: This study was conducted from May 1, 2018 to May 30, 2018, and six high school students in S city and Y city of Jeonnam were selected. 465 male high school students in the first grade were selected. Collected data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, pearsons's correlation and Multiple regression analysis by SPSS/WIN 21.0 program Results: As a result, the knowledge score was 11.92, the attitude score was 28.32 and the prevention behavior score was 30.07. All of these correlations were statistically correlated. In addition, factors influencing preventive actions against tuberculosis were attitude toward tuberculosis, exercise, health status, and sleep time Conclusion: Based on the above results, it is thought that to improve the preventive behavior of tuberculosis in male high school students, it is necessary to develop a practice-oriented program for forming healthy lifestyle as well as to change the attitude toward tuberculosis positively.

  • This study aimed to analyse the structural relationships among family resilience, experience of child abuse prevention education, and awareness of abuse behaviors. Data were collected from 389 school parents residing A metropolitan area. The results of this study are as follows : 1) the variable of the family resilience and the experience of child abuse prevention education among school parents had positive statistic association with the awareness of abuse behaviors. 2) the experience of child abuse prevention education was found to mediate between the family resilience and the awareness of abuse behaviors. Based on these study results, several suggestions were made to improve the awareness of school parents' abuse behaviors in terms of the enhancement of their family resilience and service delivery system for child abuse prevention.

Risk Perception and Preventive Behaviors of COVID-19 in University Students (대학생의 코로나19 감염병에 대한 위험인식과 예방행위)

  • This study was a descriptive research study conducted to understand the relationship between the risk perception and preventive behavior of university students for COVID-19 infection, and to identify the factors that influence the preventive behavior. The subjects collected data from 228 university students of S University in Seoul. The collected data were analyzed using pearson's correlation and multiple regression. The results was the risk perception was 2.5 points out of 5, and the preventive behavior was confirmed as 3.1 points out of 4, and the preventive behavior was found to be affected by resilience, risk perception, self-isolation, and media dependence. In order to prevent new infectious diseases and to adapt to and recover from the post-COVID, it was discussed that there is a need to explore ways to strengthen individual resilience by utilizing the pure functions of the media along with disaster education.

  • The purpose of this research is to explore gender differences in perceptions and relationships among dominants affecting deviant behavior of adolescent in cyber space. This study developed a research model to analyze the factors explaining the intensity level of cyber deviant behavior, employing internet usage, awareness of anonymity, fear of cyber crime, and perceived seriousness as major research variables, and collected 478 survey responses from college students in Seoul.

The related factors of adolescent smoker's cancer preventive behaviors (흡연 청소년의 암 예방행위 관련요인 (일개지역 금연학교 참여자를 대상으로))

  • This study was conducted to identify the related factors of cancer preventive behaviors for adolescent smokers. Data were collected from September 1st 2012 to March 31st 2013 of 200 adolescent smokers who were participating in smoking cessation school at W hospital in B city. As a results, there were significant differences in cancer preventive behaviors by grade, religion, benefit, barrier, perceived health status, daily living, alcohol, exercise, nicotine dependency, first smoking age, smoking duration and non-smoking intention. Cancer preventive behaviors were weakly negative related to knowledge about cancer, And there is weakly positive correlation between cancer preventive behaviors and attitude about cancer. Meaningful variables which explain cancer preventive behaviors were daily living, barrier, grade, exercise, benefit, knowledge about cancer, smoking cessation intention in order. Total explanation power was 30.6% and daily living has most explanation power. In conclusion, It is necessary to encourage sound hobbies and exercise instead of smoking for adolescent smokers in their daily living. And health education programmes, based on the grade and smoking cessation intention of adolescent smokers, need to be developed to emphasize the benefit of cancer preventive behaviors, and to decrease barriers against those behaviors.
