A Study on the Ontological Meaning of Life in The Canonical Scripture (『전경』에 나타난 생명의 존재론적 위상)

  • This study aims at determining the meaning of Life in The Canonical Scripture of the Daesoon Thought upon the ontological bases of occidental philosophies; especially upon those of Plato and Bergson. In western philosophy, the word ontology designates investigating the meanings of being, which is derived from the Greek 'onto (being)' and 'logia (logical discourse).' The various meanings of life have been sought from ancient times all over the world, for these are the critical and vital questions that pertain to the nature of human existence. Plato had asserted that life, in his word, soul, had three different kinds of aspects of meaning. Immortal, reciprocal, and divine. Plato scheme was such that the soul could die, but after death it could became reborn into another various forms of living creatures. The real inner life of humans, the soul, would live eternally. Henri-Louis Bergson, a famous French philosopher from the 20th century, claimed that life had three different kinds of aspects. Self-identity, Élan vital (vital impetus) and liberty. Bergson insisted especially the real meaning of life had been characterized by "unité multiple et multiplicitéune," "unity as something multiple and multiplicity something singular." The meaning of life in Daesoon Thought could be said to have three different characteristics, solidarity, earthly immortality and grievance-resolution. Some similarities can be found between certain western ontological meanings of life and those of Daesoon Thought. Namely, the qualities of eternity, reciprocity, and divinity.

  • Recently, Architecture Frameworks are used to develop Information Management System (IMS). This paper describes an operational architecture development method for railway system safety assessment. using DoDAF (Department of Defense Architecture framework). The need of IMS is increasing to perform safety assessment task effectively and efficiently as safety-critical system like railway System. It is necessary that operational architecture based IMS requirements generated fir safety assessment. ARP(Aerospace Recommended Practice)4761 are referred to develop safety assessment operational architecture applicable to railway system. Firstly, schema and template was developed to perform the operational architecture development process using a commercial CASysE(Computer-Aided Systems engineering) tool, CORE. Not only the operational architecture allows building flexible IMS, but also helps business process solving.

A study on the 'Fun' in Hangul Iconicity (한글 도상성에 나타난 '재미'에 관한 연구)

  • Hangul 's iconicity based on the scientific creation principle makes it possible to expand into various designs. 'Fun' is a factor for success in the cultural contents industry. Through the design process, it is possible to apply fun elements to the design of cultural contents to meet the purpose. The characteristics of Hangul icons that can be used in cultural contents design, the concept of 'fun', the inducing factors of fun and the production methods of visual fun are summarized. The production method of visual fun has suggested the same way as the design humor creation method in visual communication design. 10 types of examples of Hangul in relation to visual 'fun' have been analyzed by the semiotic approach. This suggests a design methodology for the creation of fun elements that utilize Hangul Iconicity in cultural contents design in the future.

High Temperature Deformation Behavior and Formability of Zr-Cu-Al-Ni Bulk Metallic Glass (Zr 계 비정질 합금의 고온 변형거동과 성형성 예측)

  • Deformation behavior of $Zr_{55}Cu_{30}Al_{10}Ni_5$ (at. %) bulk metallic glass (BMG) fabricated by suction casting method has been investigated at elevated temperatures in this study. The BMG was first verified to have an amorphous structure thru X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). A series of compression tests has consequently been performed in supercooled liquid temperature region to investigate the high temperature deformation behavior. A transition from Newtonian to non-Newtonian flow appeared to take place depending upon both the strain rate and test temperature. A processing map based on a dynamic materials model has been constructed to estimate a feasible forming condition for this BMG alloy.

Room and High Temperature Deformation Behaviors and Estimation on Formability of Zr-based Bulk Metallic Glass Composite (Zr-Nb-Cu-Ni-Al 비정질 복합 재료의 변형거동과 성형성)

  • In this study, we investigated the thermal properties of $Zr_{66.4}Nb_{6.4}Cu_{10.5}Ni_{8.7}Al_{8.0}$ by using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and then analyzed the composition of dendrite phase by using X-ray diffraction (XRD). A series of uniaxial compression tests has been performed under the strain rates between $10^{-5}/s$ and $10^{-2}/s$ at room temperature and near SLR. This BMGC has higher high temperature strength than other Zr-based monolithic BMGs because in-situ formed crystalline phases hinder a feasible viscous flow of amorphous matrix. Warm formability is also estimated by laboratory-scale extrusion test within supercooled liquid region. It was found that BMGC has poor formability compared with nother Zr-based bulk metallic glass composite presumably due to large volume fraction of 'brittle' crystalline phases distributed within amorphous matrix.

  • 주가가 장기기억과정에 의하여 생성되면 주가과정에 가해진 충격은 쌍곡선감소율로 소멸한다. 따라서 충격의 영향이 대단히 느리게 감소하여 충격이 지속성을 가진다. 반면 주가가 단기 기억과정을 따르면 지수율로 감소하여 소멸한다. 지수율감소는 충격의 영향을 급속히 소멸시키므로 충격의 영향이 조만간 소멸한다. 따라서 충격으로 변화된 주가는 평균으로 회귀한다. 충격의 영향이 영원히 존재하는 과정도 존재한다. 장기기억과정은 쪽거리차분과정 또는 분수차분과정이다. 차분모수가 분수일 것이 요구되는 시계열은 장기기억과정이다. 주가가 장기기억과정에 의하여 생성되고 있는지의 여부를 검정하였다. 장기기억과정을 형성시키는 차분모수는 분수차분모수이다. 일별 주가지수의 수익률을 사용하여 차분모수를 추정하였는 바 그 값이 0에 근접하고 있음이 밝혀졌다. 그러나 Kospi, Nasdaq과 Mib30은 장기기억모수가 0에 접근하고 있으나 0이 아니다. 따라서 이 지수들은 장기기억과정에 의하여 생성된다고 할 수 있다. 반면 Dow Jones, S&P 500와 Dax는 장기기억모수가 0이라는 가설이 기각되지 않고 있어 이 지수들은 단기기억과정을 따르고 있다. 따라서 평균회귀과정에 의하여 생성되고 있음을 알 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 PWM ac-dc 컨버터의 출력직류전압 안정화를 위한 새로운 방식의 입력전류 제어기법에 대해 기술하였다. 제안한 방식의 전류제어 기법은 히스테리시스 전류제어기가 갖는 장점을 모드 갖고 있을 뿐 아니라 스위칭 손실도 최소화되는 특성을 갖는다. 기존의 히스테리시스 전류제어기와 다른 점은 PWM 컨버터 각 상 입력전류의 반주기 내에 1/3구간에서는 컨버터의 스위칭 소자가 PWM에 의한 스위칭이 이루어지지 않는다는 것이다. 더군다나 입력전류의 피크값 근처에서 스위칭이 발생하지 않으므로 한 주기 평균 스위칭 손실을 최소로 할 수 있다는 것이 특징이다. 이러한 동작 원리에 대한 설명과 제안한 방식의 특성을 해석하였으며 실험을 통하여 그 효용성을 입증하였다.

  • 매년 11월이 되면 일본 오오사카(大阪)에서는 일본 최대의 수의사들 행사가 시작됩니다. 1년 전 처음 참석해서 신선한 충격으로 다가왔고 많은 것을 느끼게 해준 일본 동물임상의학회. 앞으로 내가 무엇을 준비해야 하는지를 계획할 수 있었고 각오를 새롭게 했던 작년의 11월이 엊그제 같은데 벌써 후회와 아쉬움을 가지고 이번 학회에 참석하였습니다. 특히 대한 수의사회 정영채 회장님, 노천섭 사무총장님, 충남대의 박성준, 이영원, 정성목 교수님, 그리고 2011년 와사바(WASAVA) 컨퍼런스 조직위원장인 강종일 원장님 및 백영기 전북대 명예교수님, 로얄동물메디컬센타 정인성 원장님을 비롯한 VCA KOREA 회원 여러분 등, 30명이 이번 일정을 함께 하였습니다. 이번 학회는 30주년 행사의 일환으로 한국, 일본, 대만 3개국의 합동 심포지엄이 준비 되어있었고, 강종일 와사바 조직위원장께서는 2011년 (WASAVA) 컨퍼런스 홍보를 목적으로 동행하였으며, 또한 개인적으로 학술 증례발표를 준비했기에 의미가 더한 학회 참석이었습니다.

  • Portosystemic shunts in 3 Dogs with respiratory sign of cough and with dementia signs characterized by hypersensitivity, salivation, and seizure were diagnosed at veterinary teaching hospital of Seoul National University. In radiographs, microhepatica was observed. In abdominal ultrasonography, abnormal intrahepatic connections between the portal vein and the systemic vessels and tortuous vascularity were found. There was no complication such as ammonium urate urolith in kidney or urinary bladder, These dogs were treated with medicine and protein-restricted diet.

  • In this paper we point out another advantage of systematic sampling over simple random sampling, which have not yet been spelled out in the literature. After a single sample is drawn by a sampling scheme, it is important to check whether the achieved sample represents the pupulation well or out. Therefore, a sampling scheme which avoids the possibility of selecting non-preferred samples is desirable. The simulation results are given to illustrate that, in the ordered population, the possibility of selecting non-preferred sample by systematic sampling is lower than that by simple random sampling.
