Tourist Destination Storytelling using Popular Culture Contents (대중문화 콘텐츠를 활용한 관광지 스토리텔링)

  • This paper is to develop tourist destination storytelling strategy using popular culture contents. Place is the result of meaning construction process. Especially discourse plays an important role in the social construction. Discourse generally consists of printed materials, auditory discourse, and visual discourse. For social construction of a tourist destination, discourse may be supplied by the media, or the tourist. In the tourist destination storytelling's view, strategies are composed of extending of tourist destination mania, circulating nostalgia for tourist destination, developing experience circumstances of popular culture tourist destination, making tourism story networks, making tourism storytelling process, and cultivating tourism experts of popular culture.

  • Machinima is a new form of UCC(User Created Content) which utilizes 3D videogame engine technology to create animated films within virtual environments. By producing machinima content, students can get cooperative learning opportunities as well as digital storytelling skills. This case study is to introduce the educational potential of Second Life and to provide useful directions in professional curricula of digital culture content.

  • We are facing an era of automation where artificial intelligence works and an era of super-aging, where birth is rapidly declining. In this paper, we intend to perform the creation of an autobiography in conjunction with the generation integrated narrative storytelling, thereby exploring the potential for visual storytelling that can be extended to a variety of media format. The visual autobiography production program confirmed through an interview with the production participants that grandparents, grandchildren and granddaughter together became the main characters in the documentary, a valuable opportunity to reflect on their past memories and lives and recognize their meaning of life. The visual storytelling education program model and media life service presented in this paper will be shared by the youth and the elderly generation together and contribute to the 'sympathetic culture' as a social integration program.

  • 본 논문에서는 입체영상에서는 일반적인 영상의 스토리 구조인 발단, 갈등, 절정, 결말의 구조와 함께 입체적 설계가 같이 수반되어야 한다는 것이다. 이는 영상의 공간이 X,Y축에 의한 2차원 그래프에 의한 구조와 함께 입체를 나타내는 Z축의 존재도 필요하다는 것이다. 이에 스토리에 의해 진행되는 입체화의 구조에 대하여 논하고자 한다.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyse the structural aspect of storytelling in contemporary cinema which is focused on the Apichatpong Weerasethakul's film. The structural/materialist filmmakers insisted the formal experiment of film form itself and the methodology to create meaning by using it. Apichatpong Weerasethakul accepted and recreated aesthetic result of the structural/materialist film to transform his own cinematic style. As a result, he expanded his film aesthetic to post-modern film aesthetics. For this, he created the structure of film by using diegetic and non-diegetic sound and image creatively. The conventional storytelling method of contemporary cinema is based on the classic theory of 'poetica' of Aristoteles, which creates illusory diegesis of cinema. but Apichatpong Weerasethakul seeks and re-constructs storytelling methodology based on the product of structural/materialist film.

  • This study analyzed the effects of YouTube comments on belated hit in music chart by focusing on VIDITOR's YouTube channel video called 'BraveGirs_Rollin_comment_Collection'. For this, first of all, it investigated how the comments used by the channel master could achieve storytelling. Moreover, the reason for its popularity hit was researched by analyzing the comments made by users on this video through the 'Tipping point' rules. As a result, it was seen that this video created storytelling by connecting Brave Girls to the story of the Korean army. At the 'Tipping point,' besides, it was revealed that 'the law of the few' is the military, and 'the stickiness factor' is the good image left through Korea's island, 'Baengnyeongdo,' performance. Finally, the rule of 'the power of context' was indicated that it is a difficult reality situation because of COVID-19 and the good situation due to direct communication through the comments of Brave Girls' members and the company.

  • This paper proposes a digital storytelling system that employs a method of making users simple online sketch being animated in 3D. To help users focus on their story development, our proposed system gives sketch guidelines providing 3D scene structure, and publishes final results as animated scenes with story text across time. This system is based on the web and the authoring process can also be shared with others.

  • In this paper, it is predicted that the tendency of planning and genre films to produce high - quality films will continue, but it is necessary to have high value and meaningful films and solid storytelling. From the blockbuster warships to arts and low-budget films, the movie genre is centered around fiction and storytelling. However, in the case of Princess Deokhye, it is difficult to recognize any categories of entertainment or artistic due to the fact that it is highly visually and has a high historical status and low awareness.   • The purpose of this study is to develope an algorithm which generates trip plans based on rating points of travel app users and travel experts to help potential travellers experience their desired destinations in advance. This algorithm uses the above rating points and the gradually created hierarchy to generate the most preferred and efficient trip courses. Users can go through video clips or panoramic VR videos of the actual destinations from their trip plans generated by the algorithm which may add excitement to their actual trips. With our heuristic methods, the more users input their ratings, the better trip plans can be generated. This algorithm has been tested on android OS and proven efficient in generating trip plans. This research introduces a way to experience travel destinations with panoramic VR video and proposes the algorithm which generates trip plans based on users' ratings. It is expected to be useful for travellers' trip planning and to contribute growth in the travel market.

The Function of Voice-over Narration in the Web-drama OH Ku-sil (웹드라마 <오구실>의 내레이션 기능 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the significance and functions of the voice-over narration in the storytelling of the web-drama OH Ku-sil. As a result, the first person narration has enhanced the intimacy with a viewer via subjective statements and produced the two time zone effect that the image and the voice-over stood on different tenses. On the other hand, the third person narration has expanded its functions beyond those of the cinema and TV drama. First, the third person narration in OH Ku-sil has performed the essential role presenting significant information for the viewer's understanding story. Second, the objective/authoritative statements of the third person narration have changed to the subjective/suggestive statements. Third, the third person narrator has expanded his/her role from a narrator to a virtual character by means of the comic statements. It seems to be the existing narration's effective response to the web-drama's medium characteristics seeking efficient storytelling under the tight time restriction. Delivering speedily the story information and amusement, this evolutionary voice-over narration is changing its status from the staying off subject to the condition of the new medium called web-drama.
