Short-and Mid-term Power Consumption Forecasting using Prophet and GRU (Prophet와 GRU을 이용하여 단중기 전력소비량 예측)

  • The building energy management system (BEMS), a system designed to efficiently manage energy production and consumption, aims to address the variable nature of power consumption within buildings due to their physical characteristics, necessitating stable power supply. In this context, accurate prediction of building energy consumption becomes crucial for ensuring reliable power delivery. Recent research has explored various approaches, including time series analysis, statistical analysis, and artificial intelligence, to predict power consumption. This paper analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of the Prophet model, choosing to utilize its advantages such as growth, seasonality, and holiday patterns, while also addressing its limitations related to data complexity and external variables like climatic data. To overcome these challenges, the paper proposes an algorithm that combines the Prophet model's strengths with the gated recurrent unit (GRU) to forecast short-term (2 days) and medium-term (7 days, 15 days, 30 days) building energy consumption. Experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed approach compared to conventional GRU and Prophet models.

Detection Characteristics of TL, ESR and DNA Comet for Irradiated Soybeans (열발광, 전자스핀공명 및 DNA Comet 분석에 의한 대두의 방사선 조사 여부 검지 특성)

  • The detection characteristics of gamma-irradiated $(0{\sim}4\;kGy)$ soybeans produced in Korea and China were investigated by thermoluminescene (TL), electron spin resonance (ESR), and DNA comet assay. The TL glow curves were shown at around $200^{\circ}C$ for irradiated soybeans, while that at $280^{\circ}C$ for the non-irradiated one. The normalization with a re-irradiation step at 1 kGy could verify the above detection results. The Korean soybean showed higher glow curves than Chinese did. The ESR spectroscopy for husks of irradiated soybeans revealed specific signals (g = 2.02374, 1.98715) derived from cellulose radical, which intensities were proportional to irradiation does, with the higher peaks in Chinese sample than Korean one. The DNA comet for the non-irradiated sample showed no or little tails, while those for irradiated samples above 0.5 kGy were remarkably changed in their length, size, and concentration, thus resulting in distinguishing non-irradiated from irradiated samples. As a result, TL, ESR, and DNA comet determinations were found suitable for the detection of irradiated soybean at 0.5 kGy or more, and negligible differences were observed between Korean and Chinese origins in their detection characteristics.

Development and Analysis of Physical Property of PP Shape Memory Fabrics for Emotional Garment (감성의류용 형상기억 PP직물 소재 개발과 물성분석)

  • This study investigates the physical properties and manufacturing method of shape memory fabric for emotional garment made by polypropylene. For this purpose, polypropylene(PP) POY and SDY were texturized using low temperature and constant length heat treatment texturing technologies, respectively. The shape memory fabrics made using these texturized PP yarns were woven with two kinds of PET and PTT shape memory yarns on the air-jet loom and the various physical properties of four kinds of shape memory fabrics were measured and discussed. The tenacity and breaking strain of PP texturized yarns treated by low temperature and constant length heat treatment showed high weaving efficiency and the wet thermal shrinkage of PP textured yarns was shown less than 1.5%, dry thermal shrinkage was ranged between 3% and 5%, which means thermal stability compared to the PTT textured yarn with high thermal shrinkage, 5~8%. The shape memory characteristics of PP shape memory fabrics measured by Toray method showed five grade as same value as PTT shape memory fabric. The heat keeping property of the PP shape memory fabric showed 56% higher value than that of PTT shape memory fabric. The water repellency of PP shape memory fabric measured by spray method showed five grade as same value as PTT shape memory fabric treated with water repellent agent. Especially, shape memory properties of PP shape memory fabric measured by 3-D image and camera measurement methods showed similar characteristics to the PTT shape memory fabric.

A Study of Assessment Techniques of Water Quality Using Remotely Sensed Data (원격탐사 자료에 의한 수질평가기법에 관한 연구)

  • 산업화와 더불어 심각해지고 있는 수질오염 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 여러 가지 수질관리 방안이 요구된다. 수질오염이 과거에는 국지적이었으나 점차 광범한 지역으로 확장됨에 다라 지속적인 수질 모니터링에 어려움이 따른다. 본 연구에서는 위성영상을 사용한 원격탐사 기법으로 수역의 수질환경 인자를 추출하고자 한다. 사용된 영상은 Landasat TM이며, 연구지역은 한강하류 지역이다. 수질분석 인자는 클로로필-a, 부유물질, 투명도 등을 선정하였으며, 수면분광반사율의 특징 및 수질인자별 처리기법을 개발하는데 목적을 두었다. 분광특성 분석결과를 요약하면, 첫 번째 스펙트럼 반사율 분석결과 클로로필-a의 농도는 0.4~0.5$\mu\textrm{m}$ 파장대역에서 낮은 반사치 경향을 보이며, 녹색파장대인 0.57$\mu\textrm{m}$ 부근에서 반사율이 높아진다. 두 번째 부유물질의 반사도는 농도가 증가할수록 0.8$\mu\textrm{m}$ 부근에서 상대적으로 낮은 반사율이 나타난다. 마지막으로 투명도가 낮은 수면은 0.55$\mu\textrm{m}$에서 높은 반사율 경향을 보인다. Landsat TM영상을 이용하여 주성분분석 및 비연산처리를 실시하여 수질분석을 시도한 결과를 보면 클로로필-a와 투명도는 제1주성분 영상 및 제2주성분 영상에서 현장 실측자료와 유사한 결과를 얻을 수 있었으며, 부유물질은 밴드 2와 밴드 4의 비연산처리를 통하여 분포도를 작성할 수 있었다. 이상의 결과들은 계절적 및 시간적 변화에 따라 파장대역이 달라질 수 있다. 그러므로 위성자료를 이용하여 보다 정확한 수질환경 인자를 추출하기 위해서는 현장실측 및 수역의 분광반사 특성을 지속적으로 조사하여야 한다.때문으로 경주 산사태와 포함-구릉포간 국도면의 산사태가 이 종류의 산사태에 속한다.열 인식의 신뢰도를 향상시킬수 있는 방법을 제안하였다.작성하여 최신 의료영상 처리 기법을 쉽게 임상에 적용하고 실험할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 지대에서 가능하였고, 파종기는 중생종보다 이르게 나타났다. 등숙만한출수기 기준의 안전작기는 조생종과 중생종은 태백고냉지대와 태백준고냉지대, 소백산간지대 일부지역을 제외한 다른 지역에서 설정되었고, 중만생종은 태백고냉지대, 태백준고냉지대, 동해안북부지대, 소백산간지대, 노령소백산간지대의 일부 지역은 벼 담수직파가 불가능하게 판단되었다. information on the regular basis of time and provide it when the users query over the Web-database gateway.   • This study estimates the technical efficiency and total factor productivity(TFP) of and analyzes the relationship between TFP and exports for Korean manufacturing companies from 2000 to 2016. Specially, TFP is decomposed into Technical Change(TC), Technical Efficiency Change (TEC), and Sale Effect(SE), and compared between large and small enterprises. First, in the case of technical efficiency, the Korean economy has been very vulnerable to external shocks, such as the sharp decline following the 2008 financial crisis. The efficiency of the electronics, automobile, and machinery sectors is low and needs to be improved. In addition, the technological efficiency of large enterprises is higher than that of SMEs in most manufacturing sub-sectors except for non-ferrous metals. In the case of TFP, most changes are due to TC, and the effective combination of labor, capital and the effect of scale have little effect, suggesting that improvement of internal structure is urgent. In addition, volatility due to the impact of the financial crisis in 2008 was much larger in SMEs than in large companies, so external economic impacts are more greater for SMEs than large enterprises. The relationship between TFP decomposition factors and exports shows that TC has a positive effect only on exports of SMEs. Therefore, in order to increase exports, in the case of SMEs, R&D support to promote technological development is needed. In the case of large companies, it is necessary to establish differentiated strategies for each export market, competitor company, and item to link efficiency and scale effect of exports.

  • Time series of conventional prediction techniques uses the model which is generated from the training step. This model is applied to new input data without any change. If this model is applied directly to stream data, the rate of prediction accuracy will be decreased. This paper proposes an stream data prediction technique using sliding window and regression. This technique considers the characteristic of time series which may be changed over time. It is composed of two steps. The first step executes a fractional process for applying input data to the regression model. The second step updates the model by using its information as new data. Additionally, the model is maintained by only recent data in a queue. This approach has the following two advantages. It maintains the minimum information of the model by using a matrix, so space complexity is reduced. Moreover, it prevents the increment of error rate by updating the model over time. Accuracy rate of the proposed method is measured by RME(Relative Mean Error) and RMSE(Root Mean Square Error). The results of stream data prediction experiment are performed by the proposed technique IMQR(Incremental Multiple Quadratic Regression) is more efficient than those of MLR(Multiple Linear Regression) and SVR(Support Vector Regression).

Anatomical, Morphological, and Chemical Characteristics of Paper-mulberry Wood and Bast Fiber for Raw Material of Korean Paper(Hanji) (한지 원재료인 닥나무와 인피섬유의 해부학적·화학적 특성 연구)

  • This study using a method different from those employed previously, the anatomical characteristics of paper-mulberry wood were confirmed by observing three different sections. In addition, the factors affecting the pulp and papermaking processes were analyzed in terms of morphological properties such as the fiber length and width, lumen width, and chemical composition of the paper-mulberry bast fiber. The anatomical characteristics of the paper-mulberry wood were a ring porous or semi-ring porous structure with the vessels showing solitary pore and radial array. The medullary ray of the tangential section showed 1-3 rows and common helical thickening. Consequently, the paper-mulberry wood has the same anatomical characteristics throughout. The morphological characteristics of the paper-mulberry bast fiber are a fiber length of 6.58 to 9.01 mm, fiber width of 15.85 to $27.80{\mu}m$, lumen width of 4.50 to $12.54{\mu}m$. The D sample of Gangwon was the most suitable for the pulp and papermaking processes, in terms of its derived morphological ratios. Comparing the chemical compositions, the C sample of Gyeongsang had a high holocellulose content (90%). Thus, the findings herein will aid in determining the quality of Korean paper post production.

Occurrence and Mineralogy of Sericite Deposit in the Hongjesa Granite from the Bonghwa Area in Kyungsangbuk-do, Korea (경북 봉화지역 홍제사 화강암 내에 배태하는 견운모광상의 산상 및 구성광물)

  • The sericite ore deposits formed in the Precambrian granitic rock at the Bonghwa area, Kyungsangbuk-do, South Korea. The geochemical and mineralogical characteristics of sericite occurred in Daehyun and Seonghwang mine were analyzed using petrographic microscope, XRD, EPMA, XRF and ICP. An alteration mechanism was also studied. Sericitization occurred within the granitic rock by hydrothermal alteration. From the careful study on the occurrence and mineral assemblage, four alteration zone were clearly identified. These zones reflect progressive hydrothermal alteration process. All sericites belong to $2M_1$ polytype and their mineralogical and geochemical properties are close to illite. The sericite ores show various colors, but the characteristics of major element compositions and crystal structures are not different. The trace element analysis, however, indicates that the difference in color attribute to the abundance of Cr and Ti: bluish green colored sericite are enriched in Cr and blackish green colored sericite enriched in Ti. The formation of sericite ore deposit in the granitic rocks are closely relate to fracture system such as fault and joint. It is considered that the sericite ore deposits in this area were formed by very simple hydrothermal alteration occurred along the fracture zones in granitic rocks with absence of other hydrothermally altered minerals such as kaolin and pyrophyllite.

The Properties of Au-Al Alloy Thin Films with a Thermal Evaporator for Purple Gold (퍼플골드를 위한 열증착법으로 제조된 Au-Al 합금 박막의 물성연구)

  • Purple Gold is the alloy consisting of 78wt%Au-22wt%Al, and is expressed as a chemical formula, $AuAl_2$. Lately it is being used for the material of accessories or the decorative ornaments, being one of the colored golds having the peculiar purple color, like White Gold and Pink Gold. Purple Gold has the weak point in shaping through casting process due to the bad malleability and castability, being the intermetalic compound of Au and Al. Therefore, it is possible to produce the final product only by the cutting and the grinding process or to use it as a decorative coat with the thin film evaporation. This study implemented two kinds of thin film experiments. One is the case that heat treatment was made after Au and Al deposition evaporated separately with a weight ratio 78:22 on the 200nm$SiO_2$/Si substrate. The other is the case that the surface deposition was made through the vacuum evaporation, keeping the glass substrate temperature remain room temperature, using the bulk $AuAl_2$ as a source. The final film property was measured, focusing on the Purple Gold's color and thickness through the bare eye inspection, the microstructure analysis, the surface resistance analysis, the color difference analysis, and XRD analysis. Purple Gold was not formed, as the excessive surface agglomeration occurred, in case of being produced and treated thermally with 12.5nmAu/40nmAl/200nm$SiO_2$/Si structure. Our results suggest that of Purple Gold films, showing the same purple color as the bulk's, were successfully deposited with the direct thermal evaporation from the $AuAl_2$ bulk source.

Synthesis of Doped Polymethylphenylsilane Conductive Polymers and their Structure Characteristics (포리메틸페닐실란계 전도성 고분자의 합성과 구조 특성)

  • Four kind of polysilanes which had side chains of methyl, phenyl, and mixed structures, were synthesized and modified by doping with iodine. The structural, thermal, and electric characteristics of obtained polymers were systematically observed with iodine, The structural, thermal, and electric characteristics of obtained polymers were systematically observed with FT-IR, UV/VIS, TGA/DTG, DSC, and measurement of electric conductivity. From FT-IR spectra, it was confirmed that the synthesized polysilanes had side chains of methyl, phenyl, and mixed structures. The thermal stabilities of the polymers were found to increase with phenyl substituents. The polysilanes with phenyl side groups showed ${\sigma}-{\sigma}*$ transition absorption at wavelengths longer than 350 nm. The bathochromic shift of polysilanes with phenyl substituents relates probably to the narrowed band gap caused by delocalization of ${\pi}$-electron. The polymers doped with iodine showed multi-step pyrolysis behavior and higher residue compared with that of the undoped polymers. The electric conductivities of the undoped and doped polysilanes were $10^{-5}S/cm$ and $10^{-4}S/cm$, respectively.
