  • 최근 IT 기술의 발전과 더불어 다양한 종류의 컴퓨터가 사람, 사물, 환경 속으로 스며들어 네트워크 망을 이루는 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) 환경이 급속히 보급되고 있다. USN 환경에서 수집되는 센서 스트림 데이터는 연속적이며 동적으로 끊임없이 전달이 되기 때문에 그 양이 방대하며 또한 제한된 메모리를 사용하기 때문에 모든 데이터를 저장하여 처리할 수는 없게 된다. 스트림 데이터의 이러한 특성 때문에 본 논문에서는 입력되는 스트림 상황정보에 대해서 신속한 상황 분석 서비스를 진행하기 위하여 슬라이딩 윈도우 기법을 지원하는 상황정보 분석 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 온도, 습도, 조도 등 스트림 데이터에 대해서 WHEN-DO 상황질의모델을 적용하여 상황질의모델의 조건 만족 여부를 판단하고 특정 행동을 취한다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템은 실시간 건물의 상황정보를 수집하여 상태를 모니터링 하는 등 많은 USN 응용분야에 적용이 가능하다.

  • GPS 및 PDA 등의 발달과 보급으로 인해 위치기반서비스(LBS), 차량항법장치(CNS), 지리정보시스템(GIS)등 공간 데이터를 이용하는 응용프로그램이 급격하게 발달되었다. 응용프로그램의 발달과 더불어 이동객체의 양이 방대해짐에 따라 객체에 대한 효율적 처리가 요구된다. 이동 객체가 시간의 흐름에 따라 연속적으로 발생되는 위치 정보를 신속하게 관리하기 위한 통합된 인덱스 구조를 제안한다. 제안하는 인덱스구조는 이동 객체의 현재, 과거, 미래질의를 처리할 수 있도록 3 가지의 인덱스를 통합 하였으며, 또한 제안된 인덱스구조에 저장 관리자를 함께 둠으로써 이동 객체정보를 관리 할 수 있다.

Multi-query Indexing Technique for Efficient Query Processing on Stream Data in Sensor Networks (센서 네트워크에서 스트림 데이터 질의의 효율적인 처리를 위한 다중 질의 색인 기법)

  • A sensor network consists of a network of sensors that can perform computation and also communicate with each other through wireless communication. Some important characteristics of sensor networks are that the network should be self administered and the power efficiency should be greatly considered due to the fact that it uses battery power. In sensor networks, when large amounts of various stream data is produced and multiple queries need to be processed simultaneously, the power efficiency should be maximized. This work proposes a technique to create an index on multiple monitoring queries so that the multi-query processing performance could be increased and the memory and power could be efficiently used. The proposed SMILE tree modifies and combines the ideas of spatial indexing techniques such as k-d trees and R+-trees. The k-d tree can divide the dimensions at each level, while the R+-tree improves the R-tree by dividing the space into a hierarchical manner and reduces the overlapping areas. By applying the SMILE tree on multiple queries and using it on stream data in sensor networks, the response time for finding an indexed query takes in some cases 50% of the time taken for a linear search to find the query.

  • For investigating the effect of amount of applied fertilizer with pig and chicken manures in the field, the number of soil bacteria were counted on the full strength conventional nutrient broth (NB) medium and its 100-fold dilution (DNB) medium. From the control soil samples without organic amendments, the number of bacteria on DNB medium was 5 to 10 times higher than that on NB medium. However, population density on NB medium was higher than on DNB medium from the treated soil with 60 and 120 Mg/㏊ for 3 years. Most of isolates from DNB plates did not grow on the NB plates. There were only grown on the 100-fold dilution medium, so it was called as DNB organisms. The DNB organisms were occupied as dominant group over 60% fo isolates in control soil. However, their occupation rates were rapidly decreased in the treatment soil with pig and chicken manures above 60 and 120 Mg per ha. These DNB organisms (oligotrophs) were significantly low population desities in the treatment soil with organic materials.

Energy-Efficient Routing for Data Collection in Sensor Networks (센서 네트워크에서의 데이타 수집을 위한 라우팅 기법)

  • Once a continuous query, which is commonly used in sensor networks, is issued, the query is executed many times with a certain interval and the results of those query executions are collected to the base station. Since this comes many communication messages continuously, it is important to reduce communication cost for collecting data to the base station. In sensor networks, in-network processing reduces the number of message transmissions by partially aggregating results of an aggregate query in intermediate nodes, or merging the results in one message, resulting in reduction of communication cost. In this paper, we propose a routing tree for sensor nodes that qualify the given query predicate, called the query specific routing tree(QSRT). The idea of the QSRT is to maximize in-network processing opportunity. A QSRT is created seperately for each query during dissemination of the query. It is constructed in such a way that during the collection of query results partial aggregation and packet merging of intermediate results can be fully utilized. Our experimental results show that our proposed method can reduce message transmissions more than 18% compared to the existing one.

Optimizing Multi-way Join Query Over Data Streams (데이타 스트림에서의 다중 조인 질의 최적화 방법)

  • A data stream which is a massive unbounded sequence of data elements continuously generated at a rapid rate. Many recent research activities for emerging applications often need to deal with the data stream. Such applications can be web click monitoring, sensor data processing, network traffic analysis. telephone records and multi-media data. For this. data processing over a data stream are not performed on the stored data but performed the newly updated data with pre-registered queries, and then return a result immediately or periodically. Recently, many studies are focused on dealing with a data stream more than a stored data set. Especially. there are many researches to optimize continuous queries in order to perform them efficiently. This paper proposes a query optimization algorithm to manage continuous query which has multiple join operators(Multi-way join) over data streams. It is called by an Extended Greedy query optimization based on a greedy algorithm. It defines a join cost by a required operation to compute a join and an operation to process a result and then stores all information for computing join cost and join cost in the statistics catalog. To overcome a weak point of greedy algorithm which has poor performance, the algorithm selects the set of operators with a small lay, instead of operator with the smallest cost. The set is influenced the accuracy and execution time of the algorithm and can be controlled adaptively by two user-defined values. Experiment results illustrate the performance of the EGA algorithm in various stream environments.

Efficient Subsequence Searching in Sequence Databases : A Segment-based Approach (시퀀스 데이터베이스를 위한 서브시퀀스 탐색 : 세그먼트 기반 접근 방안)

  • This paper deals with the subsequence searching problem under time-warping in sequence databases. Our work is motivated by the observation that subsequence searches slow down quadratically as the average length of data sequences increases. To resolve this problem, the Segment-Based Approach for Subsequence Searches (SBSS) is proposed. The SBASS divides data and query sequences into a series of segments, and retrieves all data subsequences that satisfy the two conditions: (1) the number of segments is the same as the number of segments in a query sequence, and (2) the distance of every segment pair is less than or equal to a tolerance. Our segmentation scheme allows segments to have different lengths; thus we employ the time warping distance as a similarity measure for each segment pair. For efficient retrieval of similar subsequences, we extract feature vectors from all data segments exploiting their monotonically changing properties, and build a spatial index using feature vectors. Using this index, queries are processed with the four steps: (1) R-tree filtering, (2) feature filtering, (3) successor filtering, and (4) post-processing. The effectiveness of our approach is verified through extensive experiments.

  • 우편물을 배달순서대로 정렬하는 과정을 순로구분이라고 하는데, 우편물의 처리과정에서 가장 많은 시간이 소요되는 부분이 바로 이 순로구분 과정이다. 우정선진국의 순로구분 자동화 시스템은 바코드를 이용하여 순로구분를 자동으로 처리하고 있지만, 국내의 시스템은 순로구분의 전 단계까지만 수행하고 나머지 과정은 배달원이 자신의 경험에 의해 수작업으로 처리하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 우편물을 자동 검증하는 방법으로 바코드 대신에 우편영상 특징기반의 Virtual ID 사용을 위한 유사한 우편영상 추출방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 질의영상과 후보영상간의 유사성을 판별할 때, 각 영상의 수취인 영역에서 추출된 문자열 Bounding Box들의 대응되는 쌍을 결정하고 그 쌍들의 영역이 겹치는 정도를 유사도로 측정하는 방법이다 291개의 우편영상에 대하여 실험한 결과, 289개의 영상이 정상적으로 유사한 우편영상으로 추출되었다. 또한, 유사한 우편영상으로 추출된 영상의 평균개수는 3.78개로 비교적 높게 나왔지만 이는 실험 데이터에 동일 DM 발송 우편물이 연속적으로 위치한 경우가 많았기 때문이다.

  • 이동객체란 시간에 따라 객체의 공간정보가 연속적으로 변경되는 객체이다. 이와 같은 이동객체를 관리하는 이동객체 관리기는 일반적으로 시공간 데이터베이스 형태로 구축할 수 있다. 기존의 시공간 데이터베이스는 저장된 정보에 대한 단순질의만을 처리하지만, 이 논문에서 제안한 이동객체 관리기는 데이터베이스에 저장된 객체의 위치정보 검색뿐만 아니라 향후 객체가 이동할 위치 정보를 사용자에게 미리 제공한다. 이 논문에서는 이와 같은 이동객체 정보 저장과 미래정보 제공을 위한 이동객체 관리기를 설계 및 구현하였다.

  • XML data are widely used for data representation and exchange on the Web and the data type is an continuous stream in ubiquitous environment. Therefore there are some mining researches related to the extracting of frequent structures and the efficient query processing of XML stream data. In this paper, we propose a mining method to extract frequent structures of XML stream data in recent window based on the sliding window. XML stream data are modeled as a tree set, called XFP_tree and we quickly extract the frequent structures over recent XML data in the XFP_tree.
