마이크로 연마입자 분사를 이용한 티타늄합금의 표면처리에 관한 연구 (A study on the surface treatment of titanium alloy by micro abrasive blaster)

  • The characteristics of titanium alloy as a relatively advanced material is low density, avirulent and, superior corrosive resistant, therefore the use of titanium alloy is increasing lately in aerospace and mechanical technologies, precision machinery, electronics industry, petro-chemical industries and biomedical areas. In these days, the titanium alloy product is required various surface qualities of not only smooth surface but also rough surface depending on usages. The purpose of this experimental research is to find the optimum surface roughness of titanium alloy of Ti-6Al-4V, by micro abrasive blasting as depending variable conditions of working pressure, nozzle size, working time, stand of distance and power particle size.

다이아몬드 가공을 위한 연마판의 제조 및 플라즈마 용사 코팅층의 열처리 거동 (Heat-treatment of Diffusional Behaviors of Plasma Spray Coated Layer for Fabrication of Abrasive Plates for Diamond)

  • 본 연구에서는 다이아몬드의 기계적 화학적 연마(MCP) 에 주목하여 기존에 알려진 다이아몬드 가공연마판을 주물 또는 파우더 소결 방식이 아닌 플라즈마 열분사 기법을 통하여 경제성이 높게 제작하고 이를 상용화 하고자 하였다. 저렴한 주철 모재에 연성이 높고 밀착성이 우수한 Al을 중간 코팅층으로 코팅하고, 상부 코팅층으로 다이아몬드와 화학반응을 하게 되는 Fe-Cr-Ni 및 Ti 코팅층을 플라즈마로 코팅하여 다이아몬드 연마판을 제작하였다. 또한, 물리적인 코팅방법인 플라즈마 열분사 코팅층의 밀착력을 개선 하기 위하여 $550^{\circ}C$ 6시간 동안 열처리를 수행하고 모재와 Al 코팅층 사이에 약 $5{\mu}m$ 정도의 확산층을 형성하여 밀착력을 개선할 수 있었다.

  • Generally, abrasive fluid jet polishing system has been used for polishing of complex shape or freeform surface which has steep local slopes. In the system, abrasive fluid jet is injected through a nozzle at high pressure; however, it is inevitable to lose its coherence as the jet exits a nozzle. This problem causes incorrect polishing results because of unstable and unpredictable workpiece material removal at the impact zone. In order to solve this problem, MR fluid jet polishing method has been developed using a mixture of abrasive and MR fluid which can maintain highly collimated and coherent jet by applied magnetic field. Thus, in this study, an injection nozzle and an electromagnetic module, most important parts in the MR polishing system, were designed and verified by magnetic field and flow analysis. As the results of experiments, it can be confirmed that stable fluid jets for polishing were generated since smooth W-shapes and uniform spot size were observed regardless of standoff distance changes.

  • Abrasive fluid jet polishing processes have been used for the polishing of optical surfaces with complex shapes. However, unstable and unpredictable polishing spots can be generated due to the fundamental property of an abrasive fluid jet that it begins to lose its coherence as the jet exits a nozzle. To solve such problems, MR fluid jet polishing has been suggested using a mixture of abrasives and MR fluid whose flow properties can be readily changed according to imposed magnetic field intensity. The MR fluid jet can be stabilized by imposed magnetic fields, thus it can remain collimated and coherent before it impinges upon the workpiece surface. In this study, MR fluid jet polishing characteristics of fused silica glass were investigated according to injection time and magnetic field intensity variations. Material removal rates and 3D profiles of the generated polishing spots were investigated. From the results, it can be confirmed that the developed MR fluid polishing system can be applied for stable and predictable precise polishing of optical parts.

  • In this study, we suggest a environmentally-conscious and dry cleaning process mechanism for the recycling of end-of-life CRT, and also develope a protype cleaning system to verify the faulty of the designed mechanism. This system accommodates the specifications of 14 ~ 32" end-of-life CRT. In experimental result, it is expected that the developed system improve the productivity up to 10% and decrease the loss rate of cleaning glass 3~4 times rather than the existing methods.hods.

  • In this paper, the new electrochemical machining method is proposed for the micro unit fabrication by using the point electrode tools. The precision shape control capacity is improved by using the point electrode method. It was observed that an electric discharge phenomenon occurs during the electrochemical machining process by using the spraying and torrent type electrolyte supply method.

연마재 워터젯을 활용한 처분터널 내 콘크리트 플러그 절삭 (Concrete plug cutting using abrasive waterjet in the disposal research tunnel)

  • 워터젯은 콘크리트와 암석 절삭에 적합하며 소음과 진동이 적어 도심지 시공에 널리 활용되는 기술이다. 최근 한국원자력연구원은 처분터널 내 공학적방벽의 열-수리-역학적 복합거동 현장시험의 콘크리트 플러그를 교란 및 손상 없이 해체하기 위해 연마재 워터젯 기술을 채택 및 적용하였다. 본 연구에서는 플러그 해체를 통한 연마재 워터젯의 터널 내 적용성을 평가하였고, 절삭 결과를 개발된 절삭 모델 결과와 비교하였다. 현장 적용성에 관해서는, 워터젯 활용은 경로선택이 용이하였으며 주변부의 추가적인 교란을 발생시키지 않았다. 펌프의 소음은 공회전 시 64.9 dB로 국내 생활소음·진동의 규제기준을 만족하였으나 공중 분사 및 절삭 시에는 터널 내에서 측정되어 그 기준을 상회한 것으로 나타났다. 절삭 모델 검증을 위해 연마재 워터젯의 반복 절삭, 유량, 연마재 투입량 및 이격거리를 주요 변수로 선정하였고 절삭 모델로 계산된 절삭 부피와 측정된 부피의 오차는 1회 절삭 시 12~13%, 2회 절삭 시 16%를 보였다. 절삭 깊이와 폭은 이격거리에 큰 영향을 받았으며, 이격거리가 작을수록 오차가 감소하는 경향을 보였다.

액체호닝에 의한 금형 자동 사상기계개발 및 가공 특성 (Polishing Characteristics and Development of Automatic Die Polishing Machine by Liquid Honing)

  • The automatic die polishing machine by liquid honing has been developed and experimented on the surface of machined die. The goal of development in the automatic die polishing machine by liquid honing is to increase the accuracy and the productivity in die polishing. To reach this goal, the polishing machine consists of the automatic measuring device for contour of die, the nozzle and pumping system to spray the powder mixed with liquid, and the 3-axis guides. Before polishing, the measuring device with a semiconductor laser scans the surface of mould to get the data of contour. The data store a PC and use to control the nozzle head to move above a couple of centimeters on the machined surface of die. The experimental parameters are the spraying time, the pressure, the size of abrasive grain and the mixing ratio between abrasive grain and liquid. The surface roughness is measured on the polished die which are SKDl 1 and Al7075 machined by NC. The surface roughness indicates the values of Rmax 0.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ for Al7075 and Rmax 1.4${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ for SKDl 1. It reduces the polishing time significantly and reduces the monotonous work for labors. As the results, the liquid honing system is useful method to apply for the die polishing and the automatic die polishing machine using liquid honing shows that it's very effective processing ability.

친환경 전분계 연마재를 이용한 플라스틱 도장면의 페인트 박리를 위한 블라스팅 가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on Blasting for Paint Exfoliation on Plastic Coated Faces Using the Environment-Friendly Abrasive Materials of Starch Series)

  • The environment-friendly abrasive materials of starch series has a wide range of application value such as deburring of plastic injection products, paint exfoliation and surface treatment of painted products and polishing, etc. In this study, an experiment of paint exfoliation was performed by using the environment-friendly abrasive materials made of cheap starch, and its performance was reviewed. By adjusting the grit size of abrasive materials, nozzle pressure, nozzle feed and number of nozzle repetition, paint could be exfoliated effectively. In this experiment, it was found that the most suitable condition was grit size 0.75~1.0 mm, nozzle pressure 0.4 MPa, nozzle feed 5 mm/min and number of processing repetition 2 times.
