  • The purpose of this study was to analyze trends in conceptual change research in the field of Earth Science education conducted in Korea and to provide them as basic data of future concept change research. The trends of conceptual change research were analyzed in terms of keywords, year of publication, source of research, purpose of research, subject, area of research, and research method. This study was carried out on a total of 126 conceptual change papers of Earth Science education published from 1989 to July 2017. This study showed the following conclusions: First, the conceptual change research papers used more the term 'conceptual change' than 'misconceptions' and 'preconceptions'. Second, the conceptual change paper has achieved a large amount of growth in the 2000s. Third, conceptual change research tended to proceed to the subject of master's dissertation. Fourth, there were a lot of researches to find out the misconceptions and change them into the right concept, the conceptual change paper used free response test for misconceptions, and cognitive conflict instruction model and CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction) teaching strategy for misconceptions. Fifth, elementary school students were studied the most. Sixth, the study of conceptual changes in the field of Earth Science was high in the astronomical and atmospheric areas. Finally, although quantitative analysis methods were used in the early days of research, in the 2010s, qualitative analysis methods were widely used. In this paper, we proposed research on conceptual change for pre- and in-service teachers, expansion of research on conceptual changes in various fields such as geology, oceanography, atmosphere in Earth Science, investigation of causes of misconception in Earth Science and research on individual's affective factors, and so on.

  • This study analyzed the studies and their trends, specifically 124 master's and doctoral theses, as well as research papers on the topic of education on death published from 1990 to 2014. The study's findings are as follows. First, in terms of trends by year, there were only 8papers in the 1990s but this figure saw a dramatic jump from 2005 to 2009 to a total of 50papers(40.3%). The majority of them, 59papers in total, were master's theses(47.6%). Second, in terms of the study field, theological studies took the lead and studies on social welfare accounted for 29papers(28.4%) which was the largest share. Third, in terms of study subjects, senior citizens were used in the majority of papers or 35papers(40.7%) in total. Fourth, in terms of methodology, literature studies accounted for 61papers(49.2%) which was the largest share. Fifth, for mediation programs education on death, the preferred method of study was to have a before-after design using a control group and experiment group. The most common number of total sessions was 5-8sessions with one session per week and each session lasting for about 100-120minutes. Sixth, as for the effect variable of mediation programs for education on death, death anxiety was the most frequently studied variable at 23 papers(31.5%).

  • The recent small-scaled family form is making a great influence on sharing pictures of their children with family as well. As parents are usually taking pictures of their children with their smart-phones, the form of sharing pictures with families through SNS or text messages or uploading pictures of their children in mobile mini-homepage is becoming prominent these days. But when events of an each family member taking pictures occur, such as in 'the hundredth day party' or 'first birthday party' and exchange them through text messages or SNS, it would be difficult to gather their children's picture and view them all together other than the ones that they took themselves as it is difficult to send each and every picture. Also, another problem of managing pictures occur because the source of picture all differ from each other. There fore, to solve these problems, this study intends to suggest a co-family managerial photo management mobile application UI for family members to participate in gathering and organizing pictures that they took with their own smart-phones in a specific space and produce a mobile album.

  • The cloud computing has propagated rapidly and thus there is growing interest on the introduction of cloud services in the public institution. Accordingly, domestic public institution are adoption of cloud computing impose and devise a plan. In addition, more specifically, is building a cloud computing system in the public institution. However, solutions to various security threats(e.g., availability invasion of storage, access by unauthorized attacker, data downloaded from uncertain identifier, decrease the reliability of cloud data centers and so on) is required. For the introduction and revitalize of cloud services in the public institution. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a public key based secure data management scheme for the cloud data centers in public institution. Thus, the use of cloud computing in the public institutions, the only authorized users have access to the data center. And setting for importance and level of difficulty of public data management enables by systematic, secure, and efficient. Thus, cloud services for public institution to improve the overall security and convenience.

  • With a large number of documents appearing on the web, document-level novelty detection has become important since it can reduce the efforts of finding novel documents by discarding documents sharing redundant information already seen. A recent work proposed a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based novelty detection model with significant performance improvements. We observed that it has a restriction of using document-level information in determining novelty but assumed that the document-level information is more important. As a solution, this paper proposed two methods of effectively incorporating document-level information using a CNN-based novelty detection model. Our methods focus on constructing a feature vector of a target document to be classified by extracting relative information between the target document and source documents given as evidence. A series of experiments showed the superiority of our methods on a standard benchmark collection, TAP-DLND 1.0.

  • Phosphorus (P) is an essential and major nutrient for both plants and animals. However, anthropogenic P in the environment may cause severe problems such as the deterioration of water quality. Therefore, it is essential for the Korean government to manage P in the agricultural sector. The annual P budget for Korea was 46 kg P ha-1 in 2013, placing Korea in second among Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. P surplus and deficiency in agricultural lands can be estimated according to the P budget, which is one of the OECD agri-environment indicators. In the P budget, it is important to ensure consistency in the input-output data sources, in order to apply national and regional policies for the environmentally sound management of agricultural P. This study examines the impacts on the input-output data sources in the regional P budget in Korea. P budgets were between 99-145 kg-P/ha, depending on different data sources. We suggest two recommended data combinations (DC 1 and DC 2) for reliability of the data. P budgets calculated using DC 1 and DC 2 were 128 kg-P/ha and 97 kg-P/ha, respectively. According to the results, one of the core factors affecting P budgets was crop production. In this study, DC 2 was recommended rather than DC 1 in order to consider the cultivated areas for various crops. It is also necessary to analyze the sensitivity of the coefficients used in P budget in the future.

  • Illegal and harmful contents on the Internet has been an issue and been increased in Korea. They are often posted on the billboard and website of small enterprise and government office. Those illegal and harmful contents can relate to crime and suspicious activity, so, we need a detection system. However, to date the detection itself has been conducted manually by a person. In this paper, we develop an automated URL detection scheme for detecting a drug trafficking by using Google. This system works by analyzing the frequently used keywords in a drug trafficking and generate a keyword dictionary to store words for future search. The suspected drug trafficking URL are automatically collected based on the keyword dictionary by using Google search engine. The suspicious URL can be detected by classifying and numbering each domain from the collection of the suspected URL. This proposed automated URL detection can be an effective solution for detecting a drug trafficking, also reducing time and effort consumed by human-based URL detection.

  • An author of a paper is represented as his/her personal name in a bibliographic record. However, the use of names to indicate authors may deteriorate recall and precision of paper and/or author search, since the same name can be shared by many different individuals and a person can write his/her name in different forms. To solve this problem, it is required to disambiguate same-name author names into different persons. As features for author resolution, previous studies have exploited bibliographic attributes such as co-authors, titles, publication information, etc. This study attempts to apply email addresses of authors to disambiguate author names. For this, we first handle the extraction of email addresses from full-text papers, and then evaluate and analyze the effect of email addresses on author resolution using a large-scale test set.
