동북아시아지역에서 집단안보와 관련된 지역협력체가 형성되기 어려운 이유에는 먼저 체제와 이념이 다른 국가들 사이에서의 강한 지정학적 역학관계가 작동하고 있고, 두 번째로 개별국가 내부의 사회이념과 정치체제의 차이로 인한 이질성이 매우 강하며, 세 번째로 새롭게 형성되고 있는 미-중 관계의 대립적 구도가 군사안보적인 차원에서의 과도한 경쟁관계를 유발하고 있는 동시에, 네번째로 북한의 지속적인 핵과 미사일위협이 지역을 넘어 범세계적인 위협요인으로 작용하고 있으며, 다섯 번째로 장기간 미해결상태에 있는 도서 분쟁이 항시 관련국가들 사이에서의 과도한 민족주의적 갈등을 유발시키고, 이로 인한 적대적인 갈등관계가 지속되고 있는 점 등을 동시대적인 현실적 차원에서의 정치적 장애요인들로 규정해 볼 수 있다. 동시에 이런 현실적 차원에서의 정치적 장애요인들의 근원적인 발생요인으로도 평가될 수 있으며, 특히 동북아 개별국가들이 내세우고 있는 강력한 민족주의 성향과 과거사와 연관된 역사인식에 따른 문화적 이질성의 내면에 존재하는 낭만적 민족주의요소가 동북아 개별국가들 간의 신뢰형성과정을 강력하게 가로막고 있음을 지적할 수 있다. 19세기말에 동북아에 유래된 낭만적 민족주의에 대한 비교국가 차원에서의 심도 있는 분석과 이를 통한 절충점의 발견은, 역설적이지만, 세계 어느 지역보다도 극심한 갈등과 대립국면이 심화된 동북아지역 내의 국가들이 군사안보 및 정치경제차원에서의 보다 원활한 협력관계를 도모하기 위한 첫 단계로서의 공동의 장을 마련할 수 있는 주요한 동기가 될 수 있다.

In the first Dart of this paper, the writer describes the history of movements of changing the term "to-sogwan-hak"(圖書館學), the korean equivalent of the English "library science" which could be literally re-translated into English as "book building science" and has such a nuance in Korean, to "munhon-jongbo-hak"(文獻情報學), which literally means "documento-information science, the term the author advocated by 1971. In the second part, he analyses the term of "munhon-jongbo-hak" (文獻情報學) etymologically, structurely and semantically: and proposes to use it as the Korean equivalent of the English "library and information science" and of the Japanese "toshokan-joho-gaku"(圖書館情報學). He also suggests using it not as coordinate and separate sciences of both library science and information science but as integrated and united one.

The purpose of this study is to figure out the multicultural library services that reflects the unique socio-cultural characteristics of Korea. The Korean libraries have accomplished very prompt adaptations and unquestioning acceptance of the western model, although Korean conditions are totally different from the western. Under these circumstances, this study intends to critically analyze the multucultural library services, based on a thorough investigation of the American libraries' experiences. As a result, this study suggests the proper answers which can be applied to the present Korean library situation. The data for discussion were collected by literature survey, direct observation of American public libraries, and interviews or e-mails with American librarians.

건축문화창달의 구심체로서 건축계 발전과 공익에 이바지하고 건축사 회원의 권익옹호 및 업무개선에 앞장서 온 대한건축사협회는 36년의 오랜 역사가 말해주듯 7천7백여 회원과 산하 16개 시도건축사회와 84개 지역건축사회로 구성된 조직력을 갖춘 전문자역사단체로 당당히 자리매김했다. 그러나 국내 여타 전문자격사단체들과 마찬가지로 지난 경제성장기 동안 제도의 틀 안에서 안정을 누려온 협회에 대해 그 기능과 역할을 재정비해야 한다는 건축계 안팎의 목소리가 점차 높아지고 있으며, 회원들의 요구 또한 적극적이며 다양해지고 있다. 여기에다 장기간 계속된 건축경기의 침체는 건축사사무소들의 경영상태를 크게 악화시켜 회비 수입에만 의존해온 협회의 재정상태를 어렵게 하므로써 향후 협회재정 자립의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 더욱이 최근 정부의 규제개혁정책에 의해 설계도서신고제가 폐지되는 등 회원들의 의무규정이 상당부분 완화되었으며 또한 임의단체로의 전환과 함께 회원가입이 자유화됨에 따라 협회로서는 회원 결속력 강화와 자생력 확보라는 두 과제를 시급히 해결해야만 하는 상황에 직면해 있다. 특히 WTO에 의한 건축서비스시장 개방이 가속화되고, 이러한 무한경쟁시대에 대비해 정부가 각종 규제완화 정책들을 지속적으로 추진하는 등 앞날에 적지 않은 변화가 불어닥칠 것으로 예상됨에 따라 우리 건축사의 이익과 주장을 대변하는 창구로서의 기능 또한 중요시되고 있다. 따라서 전환기에 선 협회의 발전적 앞날을 위해서는 보다 다각적인 방향에서 그 위상을 재정립하고 또한 국제화ㆍ개방화ㆍ정보화시대에 제 기능과 역할을 다할 수 있는 전문조직으로 거듭나야 할 것이다. 이에 본지에서는 이번 좌담을 통해 협회의 기능과 역할을 재조명해 보고 아울러 사회적 요구에 부응하는 전문자격사단체로서의 위상을 확립해 나가기 위한 다양한 의견을 듣는 자리를 마련하였다.

This study investigates both arbitrariness and misrepresentation in the terminology of Korea's LIS field with an example of the term 'information services.' The focus is on analyzing the differences in the Term's history and theoretical base between American LIS field and Korea's. Discussed in details are the popularity and usage of the Term in Korea's LIS field and libraries. The ultimate intention of this study is to motivate the Korea's LIS scholars to endeavor for theoretical accomplishments with regard to 'information services,' which can justify the change of term from 'reference services' to 'information services.'

The purpose of this paper is deriving philosophical foundations of information services by clarifying its concepts and attributes. Clarifying its concepts and attributes is based on the origin of the term information services, definitions and contents, historical and social perspectives. The theory of information services was reorganized by logically demonstrating that the term "information services" is most suitable name to represent its essence, attributes, and activities. The philosophy of information services has the key elements as instruction, information, guidance, and service in humanistic aspects which have been shown consistently in the origin of the term, definitions, historical and social perspectives. This paper tried to establish philosophical basis for information services that is focused on these elements.

This study examined the characteristics of books in Soongmogak of Baekbulam head family house hrough the bibliographic analysis. The collection consists of 655 types and 1335 pieces of the old books held in a famous Choi family. Books that has been handed down for 400 years generations at Soongmogak are historic references. Books of Soongmogak are preserved well, and its publication date starts from 16th century to 20th century. types of books are roughly divided into Confucian classic, anthology and history book.

The aim of this study is to expand and deepen our knowledge of Braille libraries in Japan. This study begins with a different viewpoint than previous ones. It does not view Braille libraries solely from the institutions themselves but it locates them within the historical context of Japanese society and both Braille and public libraries. It finds that although Braille and public libraries began with similar purposes, they drastically diverged after 1949 when the former’s welfare center-like function for the blind became more apparent. But by the 1970s, Braille libraries shifted in the direction of its original library function at the impetus of the Blind Reading Rights Movement.

This paper is an architectural paper which has been studied about dowelling form and culture in southwestern island area of Korea from 18C up to now. The goal of this research is to present the basic data in new modeling development of dwelling house. This area had less cultural interchange than inland area because of geographical conditions. Therefore, so far, many traditional factors have been handed down and especially, a good many commoner's traditional houses exit. The traditional houses is composed of Anchae (a central house), Sarangchae (an attached house of Anchae). Sometimes, Sarangchae was ommitted according to the circumstance of the house. Generally, the form of arrangement of house is divided into two shapes; One is 'ㅡ' shape which has only Anchae and the other is 'ㄱ' shape which has Anchae and Sarangchae. Approximately, since 1970's, new type of house has been built in this area. Usually, Inside this house are living room, kitchen, toilet, utility and 3 rooms. Wall is made of brick and roof is made of concrete's slabe. We can not find the traditional culture in this type of houses. The house in the futrue, the factors of cuture and the convenience of the present age have to be coexisted.

This study compared and analyzed, after extracting the subject titles related to Korea and Japan from the second version of Chinese Classified Thesaurus, the number of titles and characteristics according to the subjects. The analysis result shows that total number of Korea-related titles including proper nouns was 215, which is limited in comparison to that of Japan, in terms of the number and diversity of the subjects. Particularly, the CCT does not accurately reflect the current state of Korea as it uses the word 'Josun' to denote Korea and calls Korean War 'Josun War' as well as only recording it in North Korean history. Meanwhile, Japan-related subject titles include many that show the complicated historical relationship between Japan and China, such as Manchurian Incident and Japan-China War.
