The concepts of sample and sampling are central to the statistical thinking and foundations of the statistical literacy, so we need to be emphasized their importance in the statistics education. However, many researches which dealt with samples only analyze textbooks or students' responses. In this study, the concept of sample is addressed by a historical consideration which is one aspect of the didactical analysis. Moreover, developing concept of sample is analyzed from the preceding studies about the statistical literacy, considering the sample representativeness and the sampling variability. The results say that the historical process of developing the concept of sample can be divided into three step: understanding the sample representativeness; appearing the sample variance; recognizing the sampling variability. Above all, it is important to aware and control the sampling variability, but many related researches might not consider sample variability. Therefore, it implies that the awareness and control of sampling variability are needed to reflect to the teaching-learing of sample for developing the students' statistical literacy.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the logic of choice, transformation, and exclusion in The Song of sword, comparing it with the historical records. This paper explains how a novel is 'produced'. Through this, it searches for the aspects in which The Song of sword changed into 'a narrative revealing the disillusionment of the novel's subject with the world'. In the logic of choice, it explores which time and space were chosen in the novel, and which character was chosen to prepare the content and formal framework of the novel. In the logic of transformation, it is confirmed that the meaning of 'individual' is highlighted in the novel, unlike the historical records, by transforming both the character of the enemy and the meaning of war. In the logic of exclusion, it studies the characteristics of the modern (novel's) subject in the novel by excluding the characteristics of the historical subject that existed in a particular time and space. This paper differs from previous studies in that it examines the way in which a novel is produced by comparing and analyzing The Song of sword based on the historical records. Through these analyses, we can see the unity of various heterogeneous elements, such as the historical reality, the writer's ideology and imagination, and the desire of the contemporary in the form of a novel. Also, by examining the elements of text that can not be sutured into a complete form, we can see the meaning of the novel's text as an unstable system.

In this paper I investigated the historical developments of the algorithms for multiplication of natural numbers. Through this analysis I tried to describe more concretely what is to understand the common algorithm for multiplication of natural numbers. I found that decomposing dividends and divisors into small numbers and multiplying these numbers is the main strategy for carrying out multiplication of large numbers, and two decomposing and multiplying processes are very important in the algorithms for multiplication. Finally I proposed some implications based on these analysis.

본연구는 자유낙하 운동에 대학 학생의 개념을 이 개념의 역사적 변천 과정과 비교하여 분석하였다. 네 연령층(ll세,13세, 15세, 17세)으로부터 총 737명이 설문조사에 참여하였으며,설문에서 주어전 문항들은 자유낙하 운동과 관련하여 과거의 과학자(예를 들어, 아리스토텔레스, 임페루스 이론가, 갈릴레오)들이 고민하였던 핵심 문제를 반영하는 것이었다. 설문에는 세 문항이 포함되었으며,각 문항은 자유낙하 운동에 관한 세 가지 측면(즉,운동의 원인,낙하높이와 낙하속력의 관계,낙하 체의 무게와 낙하속력의 관계)에 각각 관련된 것이었다. 낙하운동의 원인에 대혜서, 전체 학생의 4.3%, 25.5%. 62.7%가 아리스토텔레스,임페루스스,갈릴레오적 관점을 각각 지닌 것으로 나타났다. 낙하높이와 낙하속력의 관계에 대혜서는,20.0% 와 29.0%의 학생들이 각각 아리스토텔레스와 갈릴레오적 관점을 지닌 것으로 냐타났다. 그리고 낙하체와 무게와 낙하속력의 관계에 대혜서는,19.0%,34.8%,42.2%의 학생들이 아리스토텔레스,임페루스,갈리레오적 관점을 지닌 것으로 나타났다. 개별 문항에서 부분적으로 임페루스적 관점으로부터 갈릴레오적 관점으로의 변화가 나타났으나,전체적으로 연령이 증가함에 따라 학생의 개념이 현대적 관점으로 변화한다고 판단 하기는 어려웠다. 그리고 본 연구로부터 학생의 개념과 그 개념의 역사적 변천 과정에 사이에 상당한 유사성과 함께 차이점이 존제함을 알 수 있었다.

The concepts of ratio and proportion are familiar with students but have difficulties in use. The purpose of this paper is to identify the meanings of the concepts of ratio and proportion through investigating the historical development process of the meanings and representations of them. The early meanings of ratio and proportion were arithmetical meanings, however, geometrical meanings had taken the place of them because of the discovery of incommensurability. After the development of algebraic representation, the meanings of ratio and proportion have been growing into algebraic meanings including arithmetical and geometrical meanings. Through the historical development process of ratio and proportion, it is observable that the meanings of mathematical concepts affect development of symbols, and the development of symbols also affect the meanings of mathematical concepts.

Continuous provocation of Japanese government to a Dokdo issue and Agreement on Fisheries between the Republic of Korea and Japan evokes a rage and resistance to whole nation in South Korea. In view of mass culture, Japanese Rightists cartoonists, Kobayashi Yoshinori and Yamano Syarin show distorted history in their works. Therefore the consideration of the birth of the Japanese right-wing cartoon is needed in historical, social and cultural viewpoints. First, the actual condition and historical background of Japanese Rightist will be showed. Second, a new Japanese history textbook which was written by right-wing organizations and Yasukuni-jinja will be discussed objectively. Finally, the representative of Japanese right-wing cartoons, and by Kobayashi Yoshinori and Yamano Syarin about historical distortion will be analyzed carefully. In this dissertation, through the factual analysis of cartoons, in opposition to a prejudice and distortion about Korean history of Japanese Rightist, cartoonists' precise and academic posture is proposed.

Innovative translation circumstances encouraged by scientific technique have become an element that increases realization and possibility of expanding sign language translation and Korean sign language translation is facing a new challenge and opportunity. This study raises following questions and search for answers. First, when and how did Korean sign language translation appear in the course of the historical changes in Korean sign language? Second, what is the form and characteristic of translation produced as a result of Korean sign language translation? Third, what is the present condition and prospect of Korean sign language translation? Accordingly, this study examined how Korean sign language translation was formed historically and the form and characteristics of Korean sign language translation using integrated literature review method. As a result of the study, first, the form and characteristics of Korean sign language translation classified according to the historical transition process into latent phase, formation phase, and expansion phase were revealed. Second, the forms and characteristics of Korean sign language translation according to the Korean sign language corpus project and machine translation were derived. In addition, it apprehends its present condition and proposes its future prospect.

Comics uses words to convey its content and meaning, while the comic image conveys the content as a narrative function to represent how language is combined with the text. This paper makes a comparison and analysis of the comics of Japan and South Korea, in terms of words and image expression, narrative techniques, and the way of communication, to study the characteristics of image narrative. The comic image of Jing ke is the other as a flow of narrative and getting rid of the current screen, to resonate with the readers. Go U-yeong's comics and Sumeragi Natsuki's set up a virtual narrative time and space through the line, surface, space and shade, to realize the reproduction of unhistorical facts and the significance of narrative with the artist's imagination. Sumeragi Natsuki's comics uses historical facts to represent exquisite narrative like still-life paintings. She focuses on the description of the objective facts of history, to seek the sensitive comic image beyond reality. The image narration of Go U-yeong's comics is a clash between his historical narrative among the subjective romantic image and the readers' awareness narrative flow that they insist inside. Therefore, he tries to keep balance. The instant image in his comics is not a reproduction of the historical real moment, but a reproduction image of the reality reconstructed by his own pursuit of narrative.
