Proposal on the Leisure life Cycle Model by Approaching life Cycle of Leisure Activity (여가에 대한 생애주기 관점과 여가생활주기 단계별 모형 개발)

  • This study approached the leisure with the step of life cycle, analyzing the process of leisure career and leisure development in individual life. The leisure life cycle leads the other related studies by examining the concepts of continuity, change, leisure socialization, and leisure career. It also analyzes the patterns and the structures of the use of life time, using '2004 Time Use Survey' from the Korea National Statistical Office. As a result, this study suggests new 3 steps of leisure life cycle: participating and expanding stages, selective and concentrating stage, and continuing and absorbed stage. These steps set up the goal of leisure program by the periods. They also can help setting the direction of leisure activities, and can be used as basic data that can make up the leisure activity program models step by step. Moreover, the development of model can be used as valuable information to draw up the plans that can prepare for aging society and demand the support of policy.

Development of Sport Socialization Model through the Collaboration of Local Community and College (지역사회와 대학의 연계를 통한 스포츠사회화 모형 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the necessity of collaboration between local community and college, and to develop a sport socialization model through the collaboration of local community and college. It's basically meant to create a leisure culture easily accessible to local residents and to suggest some of the right directions for the symbiotic development of local communities and colleges. As for data collection, a data research analysis was implemented by consulting relevant literature and reports, and a content analysis was additionally carried out. The findings of the study were as follows: A sport socialization model was presented to represent the mutual relationship between local community and college by preparing sport socialization programs(a youth sport program and a dementia-preventive exercise program) that were respectively of circulatory relationship type and of reciprocal type. Sport intervention through the collaboration of local community and college(a youth sport program and a dementia-preventive exercise program) serves to accelerate socialization into sport, which leads, in turn, to socialization via sport and then is followed by desocialization from sport.

A Study on Life Change and Leisure Satisfaction by Reduction of Working Hours of Office Workers (직장인의 근로시간 단축에 따른 생활변화와 여가만족도에 관한 연구)

  • This study is a study on the change of life and leisure satisfaction caused by the reduction of working hours of office workers, summarizing the results of the analysis as follows: First, the change in the working hours of office workers was found to be men (42.4 percent), but women (54.7 percent) had a high increase in personal satisfaction, monthly income of 2 to 3 million won 96.1 percent, and personal satisfaction increased in small and medium-sized cities and towns. Second, leisure satisfaction due to shorter working hours was somewhat high in monthly income of 3 million won to 4 million won (43.6%) and more than 6 million won (39.1%), but there was no change in leisure satisfaction by gender, age, academic background, number of family members, marital status, worker status and region. The revitalization of leisure is a very important task in personal life, but it is meaningful in that it provided implications for socializing leisure as leisure satisfaction is positively spreading in life changes.

  • The significance of this study lies in the fact that it looks into the function of games as one of the important leisure activities at the moment when negative perception on overall game industry is becoming an obstacle in settlement of sound game culture. Game is one of the activities enjoyed in leisure time. The main positive effects of game were analyzed classifying them into 10 types including the stress relief and alleviation of tension, diverse identity experience and positive socialization experience, strengthening of self-respect and ideal self-realization, strengthening of independent thinking and problem-solving capacity, motivation for learning, enhancement in physical capacity, decrease in aggressive tendencies, cultivation of awareness on equality, increase in familiarity with the civilization of technology, and strengthening of individuality based on diversity.

A Study on Breathing Method of Healing as a Health-Oriented Leisure Activity (건강지향적 여가활동으로서 힐링(Healing)호흡법에 대한 고찰)

  • This study was conducted to examine the meaning and value of the healing mechanism of breathing as a health-oriented leisure activity to ease mental and physical tension and stress to improve quality of life. The results of this study indicated that leisure activities are increasing in diverse fields. Because modern people have a strong interest in the value of a healthy life, there will be more opportunities to enjoy health-oriented leisure activities, and their health-management efforts will be more fruitful. Additionally, if individuals undergo the process of healing and thereby build the right values about life, it will be possible to set the right direction for "holistic healing" that is needed in social relationships. Moreover, healing breathing can be defined as a leisure activity that aims to promote health through physical and mental healing. Overall, use of health-oriented leisure activities such as the breathing method of healing is expected to increase the essential value of human life and facilitate well-rounded socialization.

The Commodification of Family Care in the Japanese Long-Term Care Policy (일본 개호정책의 전개과정에 나타난 '가족개호의 비용화구조')

  • The main purpose of this study is to examine the rewards for "Family Care" from the Japanese Long-Term care policy, to investigate the effects of "The commodification of Family Care" after the introduction of "The Long-Term Care Insurance", and to find out the institutionalization of reward system for "Family Care". First of all, the socialization of "The Long-Term Care" is redefined to be the commodification of family care in this study. Based on this definition, the commodification of family care and the government's involvement are analyzed in conjunction with considering the role of family in the process of Long-Term Care supply, the social evaluation for family care, the family carers' home environment and the position in the labor market. In result, the commodification structure of family care in the Japanese Long-Term Care policy is found, and it helps to understand the reason why the cash payments was just partially introduced.
