A Study on Vibration Characteristics for Misfiring Condition of Large Marine Diesel Engines using Accelerometer Signal (가속도 신호를 이용한 대형 선박용 디젤엔진의 착화실패 상태에 대한 진동 특성 연구)

  • 최근 내연 기관에서 엔진상태 및 잠재적인 결함의 발견을 위해 연료분사, 실린더 내 연소과정, 실린더 내부와 피스톤 마모상태, 흡 배기 밸브 및 과급기 (turbocharger) 등의 상태 모니터링을 통해서 결함에 대한 진단 및 경향관리에 대한 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기 개발된 선박용 대형디젤엔진에 대한 상시 모니터링 시스템을 이용하여 엔진상태 및 잠재적인 결함을 진단하고자 하였으며, 일차적으로 가속도 신호를 이용하여 실린더 내 연소과정에서 정상적인 상태와 착화실패에 따른 진동 양상을 비교 분석하였다. 신호 분석 기법으로 시간-주파수 분산 기법들은 충격파 신호인 엔진 폭발신호를 분석하는데 적합하였으며, 그 기법들 중 Short Time Fourier Transform 기법과 Wavelet Transform 기법을 이용하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the guidelines for organizing and maintaining their subject directory search engines which serve effective search results of web documents. The methods of this study are to review and analyze some directory search engines for finding problems of them and review literatures concerned with classification theory and previous studies. As results, this study suggests the guidelines for preparing the systematic subject directory scheme that is adapted to the internet directory search engines related to general andlor special subject fields through using the above guidelines.

  • In this study, forced vibrations analysis was performed for main wing of small scale WIG vehicle which is equipped two-stroke pusher type propeller engine, in terms of structural. for the frequency response analysis, excitations were assumed by H-mode(Horizontal mode), X-mode(Twisted mode) which is main vibration mode of engine, and for the transient response analysis, excitations were assumed by L-mode(Longitudinal mode) with propeller thrust which is occurred when it revolution.

  • Performance test was conducted by micro gas turbine engine. A small test rig was established for the performance measurement of the micro gas turbine engine. The performance was conducted by the Olympus HP engine. Engine inlet mass flow rate, static thrust, fuel consumption rate, air and gas temperature at the inlet of major components were measured. In the test results, we could well understand about the micro gas turbine engine performance characteristics.

  • Research and development of LP EGR system for the performance improvement and emission reduction on diesel engine is proceeding at a good pace. LP EGR system seems to be helpful method to further reduce$NO_x$ emissions while maintaining PM emissions at a low level because the boost pressure is unchanged while varying EGR rate. This study is experimentally conducted on a 2.0L common rail DI engine at the medium load condition (2000 rpm, BMEP 1.0 MPa, boost pressure 181.3 kPa) that difficult to use large amount of EGR gas because of deteriorations of performance and fuel consumption. And we investigated the characteristics of performance and fuel consumption while varying EGR systems. The overall results using LP EGR system equipped with ETC identified benefits on reduction of PM and improvement of fuel consumption and thermal efficiency while keep the $NO_x$ level compared to HP EGR and LP EGR with back pressure valve.

  • It is essential to understand the characteristics of gas turbine components in order to carry out an off-design analysis of a gas turbine engine. In this study, a micro gas turbine engine test system was constructed to understand the performance characteristics of gas turbines. The temperature and pressure in the flow path of the micro gas turbine was collected by measuring the engine spool speed, and a compressor map was constructed by using the experimental data. The exhaust gas was collected at the turbine outlet and the combustion efficiency was calculated. An off-design performance analysis at ground static was performed using GasTurb software by applying the compressor map and combustion efficiency obtained from the experimental data. Futhermore, we compared and evaluated the analysis results with engine operating data.

  • In modern air combat, infrared signals play an important role in the detection of opponents and must be reduced to improve survivability and stealth. In particular, IR signals generated in the wake of aircraft engines have high intensity and short wavelengths, so most heat-tracking missiles detect these signals. Accordingly, the measurement and characteristic analysis of Gas radiation signals from the engine's wake were carried out in this study. Micro turbojet engine has been configured to simulate a real aircraft turbofan engine, and the characteristics of IR signal reduction by adjusting the bypass ratio were identified. Through this, the IR signal characteristics for each wavelength are analyzed and verification of signal reduction technologies is performed.

  • Acoustic intensity method is applied to a 4-cylinder gasoline engine in order to identify the noise sources and the response characteristics. Acoustic intensity is analyzed by 1/3 octave band filter for each center frequency. Radiational characteristics of acoustic intensity at overall and the maximum intensity level are represented by using the contour and three-dimensional plot. It is verified that this method is effective to the assessment of engine noise. It can be found that the maximum intensity is radiated from the front side of the engine under idling condition and the right side of it under 2, 000 rpm running with no loading condition at overall level, and also that the maximum intensity is radiated from the oil pan and the intake and exhaust manifold at the center frequency of 100 Hz.

  • This study investigated the characteristics of spray generated by a liquid-liquid co-axial swirl injector used in a combustor of the liquid rocket engine. The linear stability analysis[1] was introduced In liquid sheet breakup and Post[2]'s collision model which considers shattering was adopted on the collision model after breakup. Every model was implemented to KIVA[3], which was adopted as solve. To validate the implemented models the cases of high and low injection velocity were calculated respectively and each result agreed well with test results.

  • Injector is one of the most important elements in Liquid rocket Engine design, and how to arrange these injectors on the head determines the engine performance. In this study, when the swirl injectors are used for the 1st designing of injector head of 170 tonf UDMH-LOX as the propellant of LRE, a distribution relation of the mass flow rate per unit area was calculated from the function of ${\Phi}$, which is related with the mass flow rate characteristics of swirl injector. And the combustion characteristics by circumferential axis were estimated using this relation under the consideration of combustion core and film cooling area.
